About: I’ve worked in pet care professionally for 9 years, 4 of those years being spent in veterinary medicine. I approach pet care in ways that makes the pets most comfortable and value building relationships with the pets as much as I do my clients. I have an academic background in public health and am currently pursuing higher education with the end goal of earning a DVM. I am currently working full time at an animal hospital in Newport News, making my schedule more limited than it used to be for my pet sitting clients. My schedule is more workable for households located in Deltaville, Topping, Gloucester, Glouster Point, Hayes and Yorktown. Morning and evening visits are possible all days of the week, mid day / afternoon visits are currently limited to weekends. Please reach out to ask about scheduling possibilities! Early AM (before 7:30AM) and evening (after 6pm) visits available all week. Afternoon / mid day visits are dependent on location and day, but open every weekend. I do not let dogs off-leash in non-fenced in areas or in spaces with dogs unfamiliar to yours. I require all dogs and cats to be updated on their rabies vaccines. I will not take an unaltered dog outside of his or her home, this is for the safety and wellbeing of your dog. If your dog struggles with behavioral issues and has a history of aggression, please include this in your message so I can help you decide the best options for your pet when it comes to meeting a new pet sitter. If your dog struggles with severe anxiety (this is very common!) please include some of the best anxiety-reducing practices for your dog (ex. favorite blanket, hiding spots, calming treats / jackets) in their care instructions so that they can have the best time possible without their favorite human.

About: I grew up in a family of animal lovers and have been surrounded by them ever since! I affectionately call my dog and cat "the boys" and am always working to make sure they have the best life possible. I was a dog walker in Richmond and worked with many different types of dogs and temperament's. From French Bulldogs who hate skateboards to a Great Pyrenes mix who just wanted to cuddle. I cared for my childhood dog when he had cancer and have had my current dog since he was a puppy, giving me experiences in the many stages of life and health. I've worked with a trainer and am familiar with best leash walking practices and reading dog body language. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am able to spend much of my time on pet care and services. I am happy to take your pets on "field trips" to my favorite local trails if that is something you're interested in. Safety is of upmost concern for me. Your dog will always be on a lead or in a fenced in backyard. I have experience with leash aggression so I will also prioritize avoiding other dogs on walks when necessary.

About: What most sets us apart is the level of care we give and how flexible our schedules are. Your dog will likely never be alone. They will also receive organic free range egg and meat snacks as a topper for their kibble, and if they are not at risk for eating chickens, they will have a large 2 acre fenced area to explore and run. If they do want to eat chickens, they will still receive two daily forest walk or runs and be free in the smaller pen or on a line. DIVERSE EXPERIENCE We have experience with all kinds of dogs, all ages and temperaments. We will ensure the puppies get proper potty training and are on a proper schedule (can be exactly as you specify). We can also help your dog to not jump up, not pull on the leash, and he'll with basic training like recall, sit, stay. We have cared for many an elderly dog helping them be as comfortable as possible. I was able to help a grieving dog, who did not want to do much of anything, to enjoy running through the woods and playing again. We also have safely had a blind dog in our care as well. I have been around dogs all my life, and I know how to help timid dogs relax, when to give them space and when they need me to simply love on them. For example, we had one dog who would run away from you, but when we finally set him on the couch and pet him he just about melted into a snuggly ball! TRAINING & PHILOSOPHIES I am often learning more about dog psychology and training methods. I only support dominance hierarchies to the extent that it helps the dog. If a dog believes they must be in control because they don’t have a good leader, they will be more stressed out. This is unfair to the dog. I will never be unnecessarily rough with your pet though and I use positive reinforcement first. I have used this experience with success on friends’ and acquaintances’ dogs, as well as my own. My dog sits for over a minute until I tell him to Come. I see each animal as a unique soul who is here to experience and learn. I will be patient with your pet, kind but firm, and we will have loads of fun! FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES I can accommodate many schedules, including crate training. I can bring the crate along if we will be gone longer than a half hour visiting the neighboring farm. I can ensure your pet is kept to whatever feeding and potty schedules they are comfortable with, especially with potty training puppies. I have one dog: a whippet mix. I let him in and out as he chooses, and have a couple acres for him to run and play on. I am currently working on the perimeter fence also. Scoop and I often play fetch. I love going for runs and walks and would happily bring your pup along, depending on his or her energy level. I have a healthy understanding of how to keep a healthy leash contact with the dog, and if need be, I am quite strong if I need to keep the dog from running. I like to use incredibly long leashes if the dog is a flight risk but doesn't pull too hard so they have room to explore.

About: I have a natural connection with animals. One woman operation keeping the care personal. Homestyle boarding for dogs only and reliable drop in care for dogs and cats. I’m a retired RN, current tie dye artist, and your pet sitter. I have an old farm house and 2 unfenced acres and it’s all dog friendly. I have long leashes so outside time feels unrestricted. My schedule is flexible and i live a simple life. Im strong and healthy and i have no problems handling large dogs. For boarding: I don’t have a fence yet but I do have tie outs and all outside time is supervised. I have a friendly golden retriever who would love to have friends come visit. He alters his behavior to meet the needs of your dog. A crate is available if needed but not routinely used. Boarding is homestyle.

About: Hi! I currently have a boxer/shiba Inu and a rescue puppy. My boxer/shiba went through an intensive training program where I was taught how to train a dog as well so I’m great with dogs. I love dogs (maybe more than people lol) and whenever there’s a dog around me my heart melts and I just want to play with them and take care of all the pups!! I am currently a teacher and work Monday-Friday. I walk and/ or feed the pets I’m worked with before work and then again after work as well as play time. In the weekends I’m home all day long as well as in the summer months. I care for all animals as if they were my own. All animal get attention, scheduled meals, and exercise. I also have gates to separate animals if necessary.

About: I am open to caring for any and all pets. As someone who currently has 3 Great Pyrenees, an Austrian Kelpie puppy, and other pets, I am experienced in all areas and types. I have open availability to care for pets. I work for myself so build my schedule around jobs and appointments as needed. About: I have experience with all animal types including dogs, cats, horses, livestock, birds, pocket pets and some reptiles. I am a licensed vet tech so I am also comfortable medicating animals that need it. I have 7 dogs and 3 cats, all of which are friendly with other animals. I will treat your pets as if they are my own no matter if they are being boarded or just going for a walk. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding your pets and their needs while you are working, vacationing, etc. I can care for pets early before work, mid-day and late after work. On weekends my schedule can be more flexible depending on what activities I have going on. Any dogs that come into my home will be treated as if they were my own. I have a fenced backyard for the dogs to play in. Boarding dogs will have their own room to hang out in.

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was little. I adore all breeds, ages, and sizes. I'm very attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I currently work at a dog pet resort, so I have plenty of experiences with all sorts of dogs. I currently work part time, and am available pretty often! About: I have grown up with animals. Dogs and cats are at the top of the list. I've been around domesticated animals all of my life. My first kittens at my young age was two siames kittens Who had 2 litters of kittens as well as having to toy poodle dogs, that had two litters of puppies twice. I must have been about 10 so it was from then that I have been loving & caring for fur babies.. Though I do not Own a dog or a cat right now, but look forward to owning some in my future.. I currently own a guinea pig. I just recently experienced the end of a pug/fur baby end of life. I took care of the pug for his last six months of life. Soon after that I boarded a beautiful pitbull for the weekend of mother's day. So to book with me, i'm sure I will have you covered..
