“I trust Taylor more than my own best friend with my cats! Thank you Taylor for always being such a big help! My babies absolutely love Taylor and how kind she is to them, also very respectful of my home which is always a plus!”

“Michael was great for my dog, Crockett, and 2 cats, Malibu and Ruth! He was very responsive to any questions I had and took extra time to play with Crockett while he was here, and was careful about not letting the cats slip out (which I warned him that they may try). His pricing was great and he was able to accommodate 4 days of check-ins on pretty short notice. I’ll definitely be hoping he’s available next time I’m booking through Rover.”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Lauran made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. She kept me updated daily with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. She truly went above and beyond when any issues came up. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Alan was excellent with my cat's and provided great communication! Rory is usually very shy and won't come out for anybody but he was able to coax him out and give him some pets! 🥰”

About: I've had dogs and cats in my house practically my entire life and have had the opportunity to watch friends' pets on multiple occasions. I have now been a part of the Rover Community for about 3 years. I am comfortable walking dogs, feeding and bathing and cleaning up after pets, as needed. I have a full-time job working 7 hours/day Monday-Friday so I am only available for weekend sitting services, unless your pet can be alone for long periods of time. Please feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns. I am available for house sitting, drop-ins, and dog walking in client's home after 3pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends. These would include potty breaks, feeding, walking and bathing client's pets as needed. I am willing to stay overnight as well. I can not watch pets at my own house as my own cat does not do well with other animals.

About: I was a three times a day dog walker for an elderly neighbor. When she passed I took ownership of dog. Now I am looking for some new clients. I am now full for my lunch time. I have openings in the morning and at night. If you are flexible with your availability I maybe able to squeeze you in earlier or later. I work from home and dog walk. I have the time to give to your pup tons of walks, play with them, and give lots of kisses. Fridays are dog park day! I can play with your dog in your home. Give your pup a break from the crate and have me walk and get play with your dog.

About: I have been dog sitting pups in homes for about 10 years. I enjoy walking with them, playing fetch and snuggles! I ensure waste is cleaned up and feeding schedules are maintained. I also keep your home clean and maintained while you’re away! I currently work full time M-F so weekend work is preferable, I am also available after 330pm most weekdays. I can be in your home with your pets on weekends, full time, beginning Friday late afternoon. I provide care in your home where your pet is most comfortable. I follow feeding schedules closely, provide playtime and snuggles and also enjoy walking when caring for dogs. Additionally I also make sure to keep communication open, should I notice something out of the ordinary or just want to share a moment or photo! I am sure to respect your home during my stay, in return I ask the respect is reciprocated by providing a safe, clean environment and open communication.
“Eleanor was fantastic! She sent us pictures from each drop-in and even picked up some pillow fluff that the dogs destroyed. Could not be happier with having her for our babies while we had to be gone.”

About: Growing up, outside of school I spent a good portion of my free time volunteering at a local animal shelter and actively challenging kids around me to help provide care to pets in most need. Over the years, these experiences have translated into a unique skill set of tricks and techniques to provide your pet with the utmost attention and care they deserve. My goal is to offer any pet (cat, dog, any other small animal) under my supervision unparalleled quality of care and a loving home environment. My home has a fenced backyard. The fenced yard allows for free play at least once every 1-2 hours with my supervision. my home is a partitioned pet safe area where they can freely roam. I have tons of toys for all sizes and want their stay to be a vacation for them. :) I have one small corgi that are extremely friendly and love to play with new friends. If bringing your animal to my residence is not convenient, I offer a pick up and drop off service for a round trip fee. My goal is to simplify your pet care needs, by providing unparalleled quality care, a loving home environment, and peace of mind that your family member is being taken care of by a loving family I work at home as a front-end software developer, my work schedule is flexible meaning I can provide as much attention as your pet deserves Most services needed or requested can be accommodated. In my free time I watch a lot of dog training videos and love to do animal research. I enjoy cats while I do have limited experience. “Sarah was wonderful with our dog! She gave great communication, was timely and followed instructions perfectly! We will definitely be booking again! Highly recommend.”

“Jian looked after my cats for two weeks when I was on vacation. She did absolutely amazing job and my cats loved her so much. She communicated very promptly, super gentle to my babies and maintained everything exactly as I expected. She also sent me pictures and videos every visits. Highly recommended.”

“I hate leaving my boys, as I’m sure most pet parents would agree. But Brandon and his wife took such good care of my babies. He reported in twice a day with pictures. They always looked happy in the pics, and were obviously well taken care of. I will definitely contact Brandon again when the need arises.”

“Anne did a wonderful job of caring for our boys. She sent lots of pics, stayed in regular contact with us, and was extremely dependable. During an extreme heat wave, she asked us, then altered her visits so that boys could take walk during cooler hours. I would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her services again!”

Michael looked after our dog and cats while we were out of town. He provided the best updates on how they were doing each visit, and sent plenty of photos and videos. They were happy and well looked after the whole time we were away, and we were so glad to have such reliable help!

Isabella was so great with our Kitty! She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures throughout our trip. She even made sure to provide detailed updates of Kitty's mood and behaviors during her visits. We will definitely be booking her again for future trips!

Ian did an amazing job watching Crew while we were away. Throughout every step of the process he was communicative and exceptionally prompt! He asked great questions about our dog's care before we left and reached out to us while watching him with updates and pictures. When we met in person, it was clear Ian and Crew got along great. Wonderful experience, we will use Ian again!
Stephanie was such a fantastic caretaker for our dog ! Nothing but great things to say about all her care, attention, and communication ! Would strongly recommend if you're looking for someone to take care of your furry family member. Bodhi is already looking forward to the next time he gets to see his new friend !

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
