“Kayla was wonderful! She was quick to respond and kept me updated throughout the entire weekend. Cooper loved having new friends to play with and seemed to have such a great time! I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in good hands. We’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Samantha offered to come pick Sophie up, which I didn’t request, so that was awesome. She was also very communicative and sent a lot of photos and updates, which I appreciated a lot.”
“I was so happy I found Linda and David. They spoiled my baby more than I did. LOL. But traveling without worrying about my puppy was such a relief. I received so many wonderful pictures and they even washed his bed for me. He made some friends and slept well. What a blessing they were and now, I will only call them when I need care for my baby. Thank you Linda & David.”
“1st time using Rover App & 1st time getting a new face for our sweet ol pup 🐶 Rover is streamlined, user-friendly, and fast responses from potential sitters! Nancye did a Superb job taking care of our sweet boy! So appreciative of her loving care while we were out of town! Thank you Nancye!! 💜”

“We are so happy we have finally found a caring home for our boys. Emily is so nice and took great care of Jax and Louie. She sent us so many pictures every day so we were able to see them while we were gone. We will definitely take them to Emily again.”
“Natalie took care of my sweet pittbull for 26 days while I traveled outside the country! At first I was nervous because the pictures had not been updated and honestly the appearance is slightly jarring at first. However if you can look past that, Natalie is a passionate dog owner, her own dogs are healthy, happy and well trained. My pittbull has tons of allergies and requires supplements, oral drops, baths, and topical foam. Natalie was willing to take that on, and provide a routine for my dog so that she could play, socialize, and be well cared for. Natalie gives daily pictures so you can visualize your dog is safe and sound! Don’t judge a book by its cover!! I am so glad my dog found her rhythm and enjoyed her time with Natalie. Highly recommend her! My dog came back looking shinny and happy! Will book her again!!”

“Lawdy was very kind and professional and took great of our dog! We even reached out on just a days notice and it wasn't a problem whatsoever! Would recommend her for sure!”

“They looked like they had a great time! Was given plenty of attention and treats. Did not appear overly hungry or thirsty when we brought them back home telling me they were given plenty of food and water. Liked that Lydia has a fenced in back yard and appreciated the daily picture updates and video without me having to ask first. Was also able to get us in last minute and was very responsive. Would highly recommend!”

“Wow! I hit the jackpot of pet sitters when I found Theresa! Not only did she agree to keep both my small dog and cat, she even kept them together during their stay! It was evident from the daily texts and pictures that she sent that she truly enjoyed them both. Theresa was attentive to their needs and made sure they had the best boarding experience ever! We will definitely be booking her for all our future boarding needs!”

About: My experience comes from caring for my own dog and my sister’s dog. I’m comfortable with frequent walks and potty breaks, including for dogs still working on house training. I also have experience caring for senior dogs, helping with bathing and basic grooming, administering routine medication, and measuring meals to follow specific dietary needs. I carefully follow owners’ instructions and am patient and happy to adapt to each dog’s routine, whether they enjoy outdoor time or prefer a slower pace. I’m a student with classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Most of my other commitments are remote, apart from occasional meetings, giving me flexibility around my classes. For boarding and overnight stays, I’m available Monday after 7:30 PM through Tuesday, as well as Saturdays and Sundays. For walks, drop-in visits, and longer care sessions, I’m available Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday after 4:30 PN, and weekends. During longer stays, I can keep your pet company while completing schoolwork between care tasks. We’ll confirm your pet’s needs and my availability before booking. I’ll take time to learn your pet’s routine, behavior, and care needs before booking. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, and any household rules. I’ll keep dogs leashed on walks, check that doors and gates are secure, and send updates and photos. We’ll also discuss how long your pet can comfortably be alone to make sure my schedule is a good fit. For boarding, I live in an apartment with my own room and bathroom, and big living room. I also have a pool and nice area to have walks! I will spend a lot of time giving walks and staying outside if needed!
About: I’ve had dogs since i was a baby, always been one of my favorite things. I’ve been told i’m an animal whisperer and have a special connection with pets i don’t even know! I’m currently a part time worker, i’d have plenty of time to take care of and watch your animals. l don’t spend much time away from home max would be 4-5hrs on certain days. I’m overly open with pets being out around the house, they can be crated if needed of course. I have a small fenced area but a leash would still be needed preferably due to my neighbors dogs.
“Ruth was amazing! She was incredibly flexible and so sweet. She made our dog feel right at home while we were away for 5 nights. She sent pictures and kept me informed. We would definitely recommend booking with Ruth!”

“Penny and Evan are amazing!! I was so impressed with how much love and care they gave to Sushi and Sasha. They walked, played with and petted my two dogs, as well as sending photos and videos. The best part is that the dogs really loved them and felt home!! I highly recommend and definitely will come back.”

“Boarded my lab with Christy & Jonathan for the weekend & they were fantastic. Excellent communication & daily pics/updates. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience & will definitely use them again!”

“Kelvin was great! Communication was easy, he picked her up right from our house and brought her back, and he sent pictures while she was with him. Keke came home happy. We’ll definitely be using him as our go-to sitter from now on. Highly recommend!”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
