About: I’ve never gone a day in my life without a dog, and they’ve always been family — never just animals in the house. That same love and respect is what I bring to every pet I care for. With two years of experience as a veterinary assistant, I’m comfortable walking, feeding, playing, and giving oral or topical medications. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality so they feel safe, understood, and truly cared for while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely to keep routines consistent. I double-check doors, gates, leashes, and feeding instructions to ensure safety at all times. I take time to make pets feel comfortable and calm in their own environment, keeping things clean and organized before I leave. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel completely at ease. Summer is amazing. She is so kind, loving and patient with my animals. I could not ask for better care. Everyday, when I leave, I tell my dogs "don't worry, Auntie Summer will be here soon"... they love her and her joy of caring for them shines through.

Brittney was nothing short of amazing!! She met with us and our 3 large energetic labs and 1 small poodle, they were very excited to see her and she handled them without blinking. She was calm, focused, personable and kind. We booked brittney to watch them at our home for 6 days and she showed up 2x a day without issue. Feedings and playtime was her priority and she never missed her times. brittney kept us up to date on their well being with daily pictures and comments. Without Brittney and the peace of mind she provided my wife and I we could not have left for 6 days to go and enjoy our daughter’s wedding. Thank you so very much Brittney Can’t wait to book you again

About: My mom has a pet sitting business and I became a pet sitter and trainer when I was in highschool! After highschool, I became a vet tech working during summer and winter breaks before I got accepted to vet school to become a veterinarian. I’m very comfortable taking your pups on walks but also taking care of your pets needs including medical needs! I’m currently on summer break as I’m a veterinary student so I have plenty of free time! I’m happy to take care of your pups walking needs while you’re at work or to take care of them while you’re out of town! Whatever you need I’m happy to accommodate! I would come to your home so your pets feel most comfortable in their normal environment! Whether they need crating, walks, meds or more, I’m happy to do what’s needed.

I have always been relied on to care for the animals in such ways as bathing, feeding, exercising, training and just being a friend until their owners are able to get them. I am available anytime of day as i’m working from home and i will have all the time in the world for your beautiful dogs! I have a semi fenced in yard in which i prefer to walk on leash but i also love close to dog park if they need to really get some exercise. I also enjoy taking them on walks and making sure they’re safe before leaving the house.

About: I’ve cared for animals for as long as I can remember, and I knew early on that working with them was where I belonged. Over the years I’ve gained hands‑on experience with pets of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable with bathing, feeding, walking, cleaning, and providing general care to keep animals happy, healthy, and relaxed. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do — it’s something that’s been a natural part of my life since childhood. ⭐ Special Skills • Medication trained and comfortable administering oral and topical treatments • Experienced with bathing, feeding, and maintaining consistent care routines • Skilled in cleaning, sanitation, and keeping pet areas safe and tidy • Strong leash‑handling experience with dogs of all sizes • Familiar with animal behavior, body language, and stress signals • Comfortable caring for high‑energy, large‑breed, and small‑breed pets • Kennel‑experienced with structured routines and caring for multiple animals at once I’m an online full‑time college student, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time at home. Because I study remotely, I’m able to build my day around pet care — feeding, walks, drop‑ins, playtime, and keeping pets comfortable. Caring for animals is already part of my daily rhythm, and my online schedule makes it easy for me to be consistently available and attentive. While I don’t offer boarding, my home environment is fully set up for cats and reflects the way I care for my own four. My apartment is every cat’s dream with toys, towers, enrichment activities, and plenty of stimulation. This experience helps me understand what keeps cats comfortable, engaged, and stress‑free. Even though pets won’t be staying here, the same level of structure, cleanliness, and attention carries over into the care I provide for your pets in their own home. When I’m caring for pets in their home, I follow your routines closely to keep everything familiar and comfortable. I handle feeding, litter or potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any cleaning needed to keep their space tidy. I pay attention to body language, comfort levels, and any changes in behavior. I also make sure your home stays clean, secure, and exactly how you left it.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Tazewell stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
