About: Dogs have been a part of my life for over 50 years. I've cared for my own pets as well as regularly helped family and friends by watching their dogs, walking them, and making sure they were well cared for while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like part of the family. I am retiring and love working with dogs, so my schedule is very flexible. This allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and care while keeping active and meeting new furry friends I provide a safe and loving environment with a fenced-in yard for supervised outdoor time. I make sure dogs get regular walks, exercise, and plenty of attention. I also enjoy keeping pets engaged with toys and fun activities, including an outdoor pool in the summer, so they stay happy, active and comfortable.

About: Our family has 2 very friendly labs, Gabigool 3 y/o and Pepperoni 1 y/o. Their hobbies are running in the yard, playing fetch/tug of war and cuddling. Gabi and Pepper love making friends with other dogs! Our Cat Joni enjoys watching the dogs play from other side of the room and keeps to herself. No dog is too big or too high energy. About: I have taken care of dogs all my life. I have looked after dogs of all sizes. I thoroughly enjoy the presence of puppies and have had the pleasure of training puppies, caring for elder dogs, and everything in between I am a recent graduate looking to keep busy by fulfilling a passion of mine. I am currently in the process of a gap year as I plan on pursuing a graduate degree in the future. Therefore, I have pretty open availability at the moment. I cannot offer a stay at my current residence, but I am open house sitting, daily check ins, walks, or anything else to make fulfill your pets needs.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10. I grew up with cats and because we were never allowed to have a dog, I would take care of dogs in the neighborhood. I would dog sit, walk them constantly, and would even bathe them. When I was little, I wanted to be a veterinarian. However the thought of having to put an animal to sleep, kept me from fulfilling that lifelong dream. With two Golden Retrievers of my own Duke 7 years old and Enzo 7 months old who I adore more than life itself, and a cat my life is full. Looking forward to adding more fluffy friends to my life, and maybe even adding some excitement to my dogs life by adding new friends. I currently work full-time, but the majority of my days at work are spent working from home, so my schedule is flexible. The more dogs the merrier ! I will do whatever is necessary to provide the best care when someone else’s baby is in my care. I know what I would want for my dog, so I would treat each animal that is in my care the same way I would treat my own dog with lots of love, treats, walks and playtime!

Raquelle was awesome, she responds very quickly and is super flexible, she was able to fit me in same day and at very weird hours due to my schedule. This was the first time using rover, or any dog walking service for that matter, and she made me feel very comfortable to leave my pup with her. She also sends tons of photos and updates.

About: I have grown up with many dogs, little and big. From taking them walks, cleaning the poop, and even just snuggles. I have a dog now who is just 4 yrs old. I love training her to do new tricks as she grows. (She can give hugs!) I worked at a Doggy/Cat boarding/Day care and loved spending time with them to build trust. I love helping the dogs and cats meet their needs and care as if they are my own until their own family will again. I am able to work through anytime on the week days. Start at 7am-9pm on the weekends. I can adapt to times and planning, even on short notice (shortest as a day before). I am able to work through handing dogs at your house as you want/need. Even cleaning through cages, vacuum, pick up poop, straight up toys. At the same time, your pet will be loved, fed/hydrated, play through the day, and all needs and/or wants.

About: Having grown up with several dogs, I've developed a lifelong love for animals and an understanding of their needs. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have experience looking after and walking other people's dogs and pets, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I've always had a love for animals and enjoy spending time outdoors, making dog walking the perfect way for me to combine both passions. I am dependable, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring every dog receives the exercise, care, and affection they deserve. As a recent college graduate, I have full availability this summer before starting my first teaching position in the fall, making me a reliable and flexible option for your pet care needs. I always prioritize a pet's safety, comfort, and routine when caring for them in and out of a client's home. I follow all instructions provided by the owner, and any specific preferences or restrictions. I understand that consistency is important for animals, so I strive to keep their daily routine as normal and stress-free as possible while their owners are away. During walks, I ensure dogs are safely leashed, hydrated when needed, and given appropriate exercise based on their age, energy level, and individual needs.

Lindsay is amazing. My little Agnes loves here. I’ve never seen her dance so much for someone! I trust Lindsay in my house, and with my Bully’s care. It’s very clear she has a passion for animals! She’s also super flexible with her schedule. She was able to come over and walk my dog with no notice when I was out of town longer than expected. Simply put, she’s the best!

About: I absolutely adore dogs & cats. I have never been a professional dog sitter, but I’ve grown up with and cared for two dogs Teddy & Lily. I can care for pets of all sizes and I love all pets! I am currently a college student on summer break so my hours are very flexible. I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to dedicate time to pet care, including walks, feeding, playtime, sticking to pets’ typical routines etc. I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and safe. In a client’s home, I would follow instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications (if needed and clearly instructed), and any house rules the pet is used to. I also make sure pets get attention, supervision, and plenty of care while their owners are away. I understand every pet is different, so I’m happy to adjust to their personality, energy level, and routine. I can also provide updates and photos for peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 2,397 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Tarentum. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Tarentum. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Tarentum.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tarentum. On Rover:

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
