“Hope was great! She sent several updates during the day and made sure my dog was comfortable. She was also very flexible and was able to book us last minute. I’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Auburn and her beautiful daughter took my baby, Mocha, on a last-minute request, and they were wonderful! Kind people, clean home, and I know they took care of my sweet pea🌸. Thank you, Rover, for having wonderful people like Auburn on your team! I will be back♥️ and thank you!!”

“Ben is one of the best dog sitters Lamby’s met! He was available last minute and even helped us with transport as we only had our RV and finding a pet friendly taxi in town was challenging. Lamb Chop almost wanted to stay with Ben he had such a good day, and he was perfectly tuckered out and content after a fun time.”

“First time using Colleen for daycare, she did a wonderful job with our little picky guy. Teddy had a great time playing and snuggling each day. Communication each day went smoothly. Colleen made drop off and pickup a breeze. We will definitely use her again.”

“Meaghan and her family did such a great job with Kylo! He had the best day playing with the kids and their pets. It was so good to know he was having a blast and being taken care of while we were gone for a long day at the ball field!”

About: We have raised and take care of all three of our dogs! We also pet sit my sister’s Golden Retriever sometimes! This includes feeding, walking, playing, exercising, bathing, etc. We have crate and potty trained all three of our personal pets. Our dogs sleep with us at night and are allowed on our furniture. Any dog we keep is treated like our own! My husband and I both work full time jobs, but my husband Brandon is a school teacher so he is home all summer. Your dogs are rarely ever crated… only if we have an errand to run. Our typical weekend is spent at the dog park, in the drive thru at Dunkin’ for pup cups, and lounging on the couch! My husband is home during the summer, and we have a fenced in backyard, so the dogs are let out to play and potty multiple times during the day. We feed our dogs twice a day- once in the morning & once at night, but let us know if you have a different schedule and we will keep your dog on it! We have three dogs of our own that sleep with us at night and are allowed on our furniture. Blu is three and loves to play with new friends! Ellie is four and would prefer to lay on her bed and chew her bone! Any dog we keep is treated like our own!
About: With years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments, I offer more than just sitting — I provide personalized attention tailored to your pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s gentle care for seniors, extra patience and playtime for high-energy pups, or basic training for young dogs, I’ve got the skills and heart to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I treat every dog like family — because they are. As a stay-at-home mom, I integrate pet care seamlessly into our daily and weekly routines. Each morning begins with feeding and checking on our pets, ensuring they have fresh water and a clean space. Throughout the day, I include walks, playtime, and interaction as part of our family activities—helping pets stay active and engaged. Grooming, cleaning litter boxes or cages, and maintaining their living areas are handled regularly, typically during nap times or quieter parts of the day. I also schedule weekly tasks such as bathing, or vet visits as needed. Caring for our pets is a natural part of our home life. As a stay-at-home mom, creating a safe, trustworthy, and nurturing environment is at the heart of my daily routine. I prioritize cleanliness, consistency, and attentiveness to ensure every member of the household—whether child, adult, or pet—feels secure and cared for. I understand how important it is to build trust through reliability and open communication, and I maintain a calm, structured environment that promotes comfort and peace of mind.
“Such a great experience! Kira and her husband took great care of my pup and I highly recommend them. I felt at ease knowing he was in good hands during my longer work days”

“Stephanie was great with our little dog. Very responsive to his needs. He had a great time playing at her house and loved her yard. She was very flexible with our schedule which was so helpful. I would definitely bring him back to her house if we are ever in the Huntsville area again.”

“Junie was obsessed with Ali and her family. From the moment I requested her for daycare (last minute), Ali was communicative, kind, and helped me feel at ease with the care of my puppy. Junie is a very active puppy who has to have exercise mentally and physically and Ali was perfect for the job. She has a gorgeous fenced yard, her own basket of toys of every kind, fresh water, and kept me in the loop all day. I will absolutely book her in the future should I need someone to keep Junie. 10/10.”

About: Hi! ❤️ My name is Natalie Ikner. I am 25 years old and am a full time college student with all of my work online & a stay at home mother. I am pretty much always at home so your pups would have someone around 24/7 during their visits! Since I am home full time I’ve decided to start offering my services on Rover to help my fiancé with the bills. Plus, I LOVE animals of all kinds!! So why not? Your pup will have ample play & potty time on account to me being here all hours of the day during their stay. I also offer drop ins. I’m excited to meet your pups!!! ❤️ My schedule is very open so I am always home. I do all of my college work online so I’m open schedule most of the time! I do not keep my dog in a crate, but I do hourly potty breaks (or more if needed for that specific animal) and I do allow my dog on my bed occasionally.
“We had a death in the family which necessitated us going out of town the day after Labor Day. Lulu came home happy and was obviously happy with Shume’s care. And she lives very close to us. How awesome is that?!?!”

About: My fondest childhood memories are running around and hiding under the table with the big Alsatian dogs we had growing up. Since then, it’s been a Pup love story. I’m one of those people who pets every dog he comes across while going about the day and dogs naturally gravitate towards me. I like to play and make sure the dogs have a good time and I treat them like my children. Honestly it's as much fun and therapy for me as it is for them. I currently work Remotely so I have plenty of time and attention to give your pet the love and affection they deserve. I am off in the evenings at 4:30 and nighttime during the week so I can take the pups on long walks and to the park. I have plenty of availability on the weekends. Mostly interested in Walks but open to Sitting or boarding especially on the weekends Every dog is unique and I treat them like individuals with unique sets of behaviors, interests and needs. I make sure they have everything from Great water to food and get enough exercise in. I also am very careful and would never put them in harms way or be negligent as dogs like children need proactive care. I would always ensure that your home is locked and secured upon entry, re-entry and departure. I also have a large spacious apartment and I live alone so I can host them.

“Willow didn’t want to leave and followed him. That tells me all I need to know. She had a great time on their field trip and play date. He will be seeing Willow again if he is willing🤘❤️”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Tanner commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 194 sitters in Tanner, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
