“Lanie was super attentive and caring for my cat while I was out of town! She spent a week doing daily check ins on my pets and left very thorough reports and photos to keep me updated! I really appreciated the time and care she put in to go the extra mile!”

“Rosa was AMAZING! Both of my pets were extremely well taken care of, I didn’t have to worry at all! Her daily updates were the highlight of my day. Will absolutely book with Rosa again and will highly recommend!”

“Paul saved us in a real pinch. Our original dog sitter had a medical emergency after we had already left town and he stepped in and took good care of our dog over the Christmas holiday. Much much thanks! He spent extra time winning over our shy boy!”

About: I have had a passion for animal care since I was young and have only grown in experience with time. I previously worked in an animal shelter and have experience handling high-energy puppies to couch-potato seniors. I would foster older dogs while working there and am adept at creating a comfortable space for pups that struggle with changes. I look forward to getting to know your dog and personalizing their care to their needs. I am available anytime during weekends. During weekdays, I am free in the mornings and afternoons, with plenty of time to give your pup the individual attention they need. I am happy to provide whatever care is necessary to keep them healthy and happy in their home. I am available for visits to provide feeding, water, exercise, and that dose of attention that every pup needs. During visits, I'll provide updates and photos so that you can be sure they are getting the attention and care they deserve
About: I have maintained canine companionship since I was three years old!, My personal dogs were entrusted to my care right from the get-go. Since then, I have accumulated more than 25 years of animal care experience. I have also gained invaluable experience during a three-year tenure as a veterinary assistant, where I assumed the role of lead assistant. This professional role has afforded me extensive exposure to the realm of animal care, granting me a wealth of experience from daily care to emergency training. My expertise spans the entire spectrum of canine and feline diversity, encompassing dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. Rest assured, I possess the knowledge, skills, and compassion required to administer the care that each fur baby deserves. I am a graduate student in the College Station/Bryan area, working on a Ph.D. in wildlife biology. If I am not in the field conducting research, my schedule is extremely flexible to provide services at times that work best for you and your pets! My approach to caring for clients' pets is entirely guided by the specific preferences and instructions provided by the owners. I am committed to adhering to all the rules and guidelines set forth by the owners concerning the handling and care of their cherished animals.
“Stassney is such an amazing sitter. She was flexible when I needed to add more visits at the last minute and she provides great updates and pictures. I definitely trust Stassney with my cat!”

“Liana took great care of our kitties and consistently communicated with us whenever she visited. She sent us pictures and informed us on whether they were eating and she bonded with them in a short time. We are very grateful for Liana's work and will definitely request her again the next time we travel.”

“We were very thankful to have been able to book Amelia fairly last minute. She handled our dog’s full body welcomes when she got into the house like a champ and provided an excellent rover card when her visit was over!”

“Rachel was fabulous! She loved our dog so well (as if he was her own), was an amazing communicator, went above and beyond to bring packages in, and overall gave us tremendous peace of mind in how she cared for our dog.”

“I am so grateful to Cody Lynn for caring for my two Chihuahuas and providing great support! Right from our first meeting I knew Cody is a lover of fur babies and that my girls would be in great hands! Cody asked great questions about personality, specific care requirements, their needs as older pups, and the best way to love them well. Her updates were timely and detailed, the pics she shared gave me such assurance knowing my girls were in good hands and well cared for - thank you Cody Lynn!!!❤️”

“Elizabeth was very communicative and took care of our dog (and cats) very well! We can back to a clean house and happy pets! She even left some treats behind for them! A perfect petsitter!”

About: Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check out my Rover profile. My name is Karla, and I absolutely love to take care of dogs and cats. I have many years of experience having raised my own dog and cat! Vaquero–a very energetic blue heeler–was raised on our family’s ranch and cared for and trained very lovingly by myself! I taught him since he was a little puppy to adulthood and absolutely love playing with him. I have also raised my cat, Maria, from the moment she was a kitten, and she has been my steadfast feline companion ever since! Growing up on the ranch also has given me the opportunity to take care of other cats and dogs and foster a deep appreciation for animals in general. My main tenet when it comes to taking care of my client’s pets is to take care and love them as if they were my own! I will absolutely do my best to make sure your pet has the most enjoyable experience while you, their owner, is able to have the peace of mind that your pet is in very good hands. I also tailor my services to fit specific pet needs, I am more than happy to accommodate whatever service works best for you and your pet. I am looking forward to working with you and to meeting your loved pets! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!! As a graduate student, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I'm typically only occupied between 10am and 3pm, which means I have plenty of availability in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Outside of those hours I'm flexible and happy to work around whatever schedule works best for you and your pet. When I come to your home, my priority is making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and at ease. I take time to let them warm up to me at their own pace — especially cats, who can be particular about new people in their space. I treat your home with the utmost respect and follow whatever routines and instructions you leave for me, because consistency is what keeps pets happy and stress-free while you're away. I also make sure to keep you updated with photos and check-ins so you always know how your pet is doing. Your pet's wellbeing and your peace of mind are always my top priority.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
