About: I’ve taken care of newborn puppies all the way up to senior dogs. I’ve had a soft spot for animals all my life! This platform seems like a perfect fit! I currently work part time doing videography and travel all over the country so I plan to care for dogs in each place I visit! We have a small farm but it’s not fenced in. Our dogs run and play all day long and then just hangout. Lots to do around here as me and the dogs love to go explore!
“Sarah did such an amazing job taking care of our two dogs during our wedding weekend! She was so communicative, provided updates and always made us feel comfortable and confident our dogs were in great hands! We also had her bring our lab Remi to several key wedding events throughout the weekend and she was always on time and always communicated with us making sure everything was perfect! For what can be such a busy stressful wedding weekend, sarah took all the stress and worry out of it for us and Remi was the star of the wedding! Thanks again for everything and we will definitely book you again next time we are up in WP!”

“Aurelia was patient with our anxious pup. She took her for walks and stayed in communication with us all night. She did a fantastic job! I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“AnnaLiese was great!!! We have never left our dog with a stranger before. Our dog loved her and she spent the day hiking with him and relaxing at her house while we went to a concert. I would definitely recommend AnnaLiese.”

“Javier was great with my 2 big dogs and cat. While the cat box didn’t get cleaned, everyone was happy when I got home, which is all a pet mama can ask! He left the house in great shape as well, even stripping the bed he slept in. I’d absolutely rehire Javier; he’s a wonderful soul that animals respond to. They’re in good hands with him.”

“We had a last minute 5-day trip pop up, and fortunately Jamie responded quickly and scheduled a meeting. Sophie can be a little grumpy around new people, so we asked Jamie to bring her dog Copper which was the answer. Copper brought out the puppy in Sophie! Jamie shared videos of the two playing. The house was immaculate on our return and Sophie was friskier than usual. We might need to borrow Copper! Thank you for a great weekend. We will call Jamie for our next trip.”
“Lucy did a great job with my pets. They were well cared for & my outdoor cameras showed her outside with them, throwing the ball & also taking walks with them. She also was there when she said that she would be. I will certainly use Lucy again!”

“So glad we found Cynthia! Since she is a vet tech, I really felt more at ease with trusting a stranger with our 3 dogs who can be a handful! The dogs instantly took a liking to her and she was so sweet to them. She was very responsive and also sent us updates & cute individual portraits of our dogs! Our house and pups were happy and well taken care! And she even took them time to write us a sweet note. We would not hesitate to ask Cynthia to watch our pups in the future! Thank you Cynthia!”

About: Hi! I’m a teacher with eight years of experience and a passion for caring for animals. My career has taught me patience, responsibility, reliability, and the importance of building trust—qualities I bring to every pet I care for. I have experience house sitting for a variety of dogs, including energetic puppies, medically needy dogs who require medications or special care, and dogs with typical daily routines. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their needs, routines, and personalities to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. When your dog is in my care, they will be treated like family. Whether they need extra attention, playtime, walks, medication administration, or simply a cozy companion, I am committed to providing attentive, compassionate care. I also believe in keeping pet parents informed with regular updates and photos for added peace of mind. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible while ensuring your pet receives plenty of love, attention, and individualized care. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! Pet care fits easily into my routine, especially during the summer when I have open availability as a teacher. This allows me to be flexible with scheduling and spend more quality time with the pets in my care. Whether your pet needs frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication, or simply companionship throughout the day, I can provide the attention and consistency they deserve. I understand that pets thrive on routine, and I make it a priority to follow their normal schedule while giving them plenty of love, affection, and individualized care. My goal is to make your time away stress-free by ensuring your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for. When caring for pets, I prioritize their safety, comfort, and routine. For drop-in visits, I make sure pets have fresh food and water, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention and affection. I also follow any specific instructions regarding medications, feeding schedules, or special needs to ensure consistency while their owners are away. During walks, I focus on providing safe, enjoyable exercise while paying close attention to each dog’s energy level and personality. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely stroll or a more active walk, I’ll make sure they get the physical activity and enrichment they need. While I live in an apartment near several parks and can accommodate pets in my home when needed, my primary focus is providing reliable drop-in visits and walks in your pet’s familiar environment. I believe many pets are happiest staying in their own home and maintaining their regular routine, and I’m committed to giving them loving, attentive care every visit.

About: I have been around all kinds of animals my entire life! I grew up on a farm and have raised and cared for many animals. As well as my own blue healer that I had for her long life of 15 years! I would love to house and pet sit for you! Looking to spend my off season from work surrounded with doggie lovins! I love to spend time outside, if your pup does too then we seem to be a great match! Also have a soft spot for lazy days with the older ones too! I feel confident in my ability to help keep your pet in their normal day to day routine while keeping a thoughtful and watchful eye over them.
About: I’ve owned dogs throughout my whole life. I currently have two cattle dogs that are great with other dogs. I have experience with all dog types including high energy and anxious dogs. I also have a lot of experience giving medications. I have a flexible work schedule and understand how hard it is to leave your dog home alone all day. I can accommodate most times. I can accommodate the dog’s needs whether that is playing fetch in the yard, or multiple walks a day. In our home they will have access to our large fenced in yard. They won’t be left unattended.
“Julie was an absolutely angel to have for our two pups while we were away on an extended trip. They loved their time with Julie, who took exceptional care of them and our home. She truly went above and beyond in her care.”

About: I grew up around cats and dogs my whole life, and I have experience with dog grooming and care. Particularly experienced with taking care of senior pets and helping them with their health needs. I'll love your pets just like you do! I have a very flexible schedule, so I can take care of your pets any day of the week. If you have any special time requests just let me know and I'll do my best to accomodate! I always make sure to keep my clients' houses cleaner than I found them. Your pets will have the familiar environment that they know and love! I'm also very attentive to animal body language to make sure your pets are played with, comforted, and cared for!
About: I’ve loved and raised two very different dogs, and both taught me a lot about patience, trust, and understanding what each dog needs. Boomer was a big, rambunctious Labradoodle who I raised from just 8 weeks old. I went through all the puppy stages with him—from the endless energy and learning boundaries to helping him grow into a happy, well-adjusted adult dog. Allie came into my life at around 2 years old as a very shy and timid rescue who had clearly been through some difficult experiences. Earning her trust took time, patience, and a much gentler approach. Watching her become more comfortable, confident, and affectionate was incredibly rewarding. Because of them, I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies and big dogs to nervous or shy dogs who need a little extra patience. I know every dog has their own personality, and I try to meet them where they are and make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine and my schedule is extremely flexible. I’m able to be around throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, meals, or just some company on the couch. After losing both of my dogs, Boomer and Allie, there’s definitely been a hole in my everyday life. I miss having dogs around—the walks, the goofy moments, and honestly just having that companionship while I’m working from home. Rover gives me a chance to have some of that back while helping other people feel comfortable knowing their dog is with someone who genuinely wants them around. Because I work from home, I can be very flexible with days and times and can give your dog plenty of attention rather than having them fit around a busy work schedule. Safety and trust come first for me. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog—and your home—in someone else’s care, so I take that responsibility seriously. I’ll follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, and any house rules you have. I’m also happy to take things slowly with shy or nervous dogs and let them get comfortable with me on their own terms. Because I work from home and have a flexible schedule, I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention and supervision instead of leaving them alone for long stretches. Whether I’m caring for your dog in my home or yours, my goal is pretty simple: keep them safe, comfortable, and happy, and give you peace of mind while you’re away.
“Patti is the best! This was her second time taking care of our boxers and we could not be more happy with the attention and love she provides to them. Extremely reliable and we would have her stay with them over and over again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tabernash walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tabernash maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tabernash choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
