“Kristina was amazing! She kept us updated on Nike, Bandit, and Fin, and we came back to a super clean home with happy pups! She’s very responsible, she showed up to the meet and greet right on time, and the dogs took to her right away. We will absolutely be asking her to babysit again in the future.”

“Keira was awesome with the "zoo" at my house. She was very conscientious and connected right away with all my pets. She kept me very well updated on how everyone was doing and was very flexible and easy to work with. I felt at peace knowing my pets were in good hands while I was away. Would recommend her as an A++ pet sitter!”

“Dara was an excellent dog sitter. She took great care of our senior dog and communicated regularly with us throughout her stay. She followed our instructions perfectly and took many pictures of our dog as well. The house was spotless and even did laundry before she left. I highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve watched multiple dogs at once all my life, making sure they get all the attention and love they need. I also love to just walk around so your babies will get the exercise they need. I’m free most hours Sunday through Thursday. Saturday and Friday get a little iffy but I’m sure I can work stuff out. I work part time so most of my day would be spent caring for your dogs. I will play with your dog walk them as long as they need. I’ll let them out and make sure they are as safe as they can be.
“Julia was absolutely wonderful with our dog! She was reliable, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and well cared for. Julia stayed overnight, sent frequent updates and photos, and made the entire experience completely stress-free for us. We came home to a very happy dog and could tell she had been in great hands. We highly recommend Julia to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable sitter. We would happily book her again!”

“I would leave more stars if I could. Our trip was enjoyed more because Sterlin is professional, caring and most importantly loving to our Cavilier. We left Sugar in great hands!!!!”

“Meghan was super flexible and provided great updates and photos. She was absolutely wonderful with my pup who takes a bit to warm up to new people. Kiki loved her and we will definitely book again!”

“Victoria arrived promptly and gave us continuous updates and pictures during her sit with Dexter. We would highly recommend Victoria to any other pet parents. We have already booked her for another visit!”

“This was our first time using Rover and we were a little apprehensive. But Jared came and met our dogs before staying and made us feel at ease. He sent us updates and did everything he said he would. We had a great experience and will be asking him to come back again!”

About: I have always had a love for animals. Growing up, I always had pets, mostly dogs and cats but also rodents, snakes, and frogs. I have also volunteered for 2 animal shelters in the past and still actively volunteer at one with walking dogs. I am currently in school and working part time but somehow still have plenty of free time! I love helping out people especially when it comes to caring for their pets when they cannot, whether that be at work or on vacation. I will always keep any animals on leashes or in the house. I will keep the same principles as my own dogs and will always keep them safe and keep their boundaries granted.
“Kenzie was so great with our Golden Retriever, Mack, and a very respectable guest in our home! She sent plenty of updates (even when we weren’t the most responsive while on our wedding weekend), but we knew he was in very good hands. Thanks so much, Kenzie!!”

About: I have taken care of family pets since I was little! I have taken care of cats and dogs. I have also volunteered in animal shelters! I am a teacher who is off for the summer! I have plenty of time to take care of your sweet pets! Overnight stays, walks, check ins I prioritize your pet's safety and comfort within their own home. I'll ensure all doors and windows are secure, and I'm mindful of any potential hazards. My visits will be scheduled to provide consistent companionship and avoid leaving your pet alone for extended periods. I'm happy to follow any specific security routines you have in place.
“Bridget was fantastic! She was always very responsive and kept us updated with the cats throughout our trip. She also gave us the sense that she really cared for our cats well being and gave them lots of attention.”

About: I've raised dogs my entire life! Over the last 5 years, I've started house sitting for family friends for upwards of 3-4 weeks at a time, adding cats, bunnies, and birds to the rotation. Currently until the end of June, I will be working about 4 days a week as a substitute teacher. I'm usually out of the house by 6:30a and home around 3:15p. If it's a day where I don't have a job scheduled, then I'm free :) I am very adaptable, reliable, clean and thoughtful when it comes to caring for clients animals, especially in their homes. I will be cognizant of whatever rules and guidelines you lay out for me to make sure your animal is getting the best care!

About: I have dog sat for other people before and I absolutely love animals. I have 5 of my own animals that I love with all of my heart. One of them is a puppy right now. I have experienced little dogs, medium dogs, bigger dogs and puppies. I’ve learned a lot through my own trial and error early on with my own dogs. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am currently working part time and I have time in my day to make sure your pet has all the love and attention it needs. Since I have 5 dogs it would preferably have to be in the clients home especially the first few times so I would be able to connect with the dog.
About: I’ve taken care of many different animals pretty much all of my life. From family and friend’s pets and now professionally over the last 10 years. I love going on long walks, playing and interacting with all animals! With dogs I especially enjoy playing fetch and enjoy having a good run around with them in a park or beach! I love being around animals, so let me know how I can help:) Im currently working at home so my hours are very flexible. I can easily give you pet the attention it needs because I am always home. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Swainton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Swainton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Swainton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Swainton. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
