“Aurora had a lovely retreat in the country with Amber in a beautiful setting with plenty of care and cuddles. I immediately felt comfortable with Aurora spending the day with Amber who is warm, friendly and clearly has a special way with animals. She kept me posted on Aurora’s adventures throughout the day. Hope Aurora has a chance to visit again!”

“Sheila watched Millie for two days while we explored Ithaca. She accepted our last minute request quickly and kept us updated during Millie’s stay. When Millie arrived for her second day of dog daycare she trotted off happily and didn’t look back, which I took as a great sign!”

About: ** I took a break from Rover, but I’m happy to be back and excited to offer pet care again! (Est. Jan ‘26) 🐾✨ I bring over 5 years of hands-on experience from working at a local dog daycare, caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. I’m by no means a trainer, but have worked with one, and am comfortable training puppies on basic commands and have experience providing gentle, attentive care for senior dogs as well. I treat every dog like my own and always strive to make them feel safe, happy, and loved. I regularly dog sit for friends and family, so caring for animals is already built into my routine. I also currently have a crew of my own — 3 dogs (just welcomed a puppy in Dec. 2025) & have a flock of 24 chickens! As I continue using Rover, I’m excited to grow this into something more consistent, with the goal of potentially offering pet care full time in the future. Animals truly are a big part of my everyday life 🖤🐾 I’m able to be home and present, so pets get lots of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I also have dogs who do great with other dogs, which can be a fun and positive socialization experience when it’s a good fit. I have crates available if needed, extra bowls, and enrichment toys like snuffle mats and games to keep pets engaged and comfortable. My goal is always to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Helayna and her family were super sweet with Sherlock and took such great care of him! He has separation anxiety but seemed happy and relaxed when we came to pick him up. She also sent updates and photos / videos which is always appreciated 💜 Thank you so much!”

About: I have over 7 years of hands-on animal care experience, including running my own dog walking business for 2 years and ongoing work in farm animal rescue. I had two dogs of my own for over 15 years and have cared for many rescue dogs with a wide range of personalities and needs. I’m patient, reliable, and especially comfortable with shy, nervous, or high-energy dogs. I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and on their normal routine while they’re in my care. I do have cats in my home, so dogs staying with me should be cat-friendly. References are available upon request. “Pet care is a central part of my daily routine. I work part-time overnight, which means I’m home and available throughout the day for walks, supervision, and consistent care. I also run a nonprofit animal rescue from my home, so caring for animals is something I’m actively doing every day. My routine is built around feeding schedules, exercise, cleaning, and making sure each animal gets individual attention. Because of this, I’m very used to managing different needs while keeping a calm, structured environment.” depends on each pet’s routine and comfort level, but I always aim to keep things as consistent and low-stress as possible. In my home, I provide a calm, structured environment with regular feeding schedules, exercise, and plenty of supervision throughout the day. Dogs get daily walks, enrichment, and individual attention. I take introductions slowly and make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine—feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications if needed—while also keeping your home clean and respected. I pay attention to behavior and body language and adjust care based on what each pet needs. My goal is always to make pets feel secure and well cared for, whether they’re in my home or staying in theirs

About: I have been a pet owner for 30+ years (currently own no pets) and a pet sitter from the 80's and 90's when it was new to have someone in your house taking care of pets while traveling. I am new to Wayne County, after living in Delaware County, PA for 50 years. I am looking for a part time work from home job, but in the meantime thought I could fill my days with dog lovin. I miss having my own pet, so loving and caring for others would be a great fit. My home is spacious, with plenty of room to play, sleep and be crated (if necessary). I live on 2 acres, with access to 10k+ acres of woods out my back door. There is plenty of walking and exploring to do out my back door.
“Thank you Justin & Melissa for taking good care of Nick for me . I will definitely use your services in the near future. Thank you for being so accommodating for us . You’re the best . Thanks again Mike”

About: I have had pets most of my life. I quit my job and started a non-profit, St. Lewis Foundation, which didnt work out, so all the animals in my care became my pets. They were mostly senior and unwanted animals, which is where my heart is. I am unemployed right now, looking for remote work . So I am home all day. I have the time to let your pup out as many times as he/she wants. If they are a little dog I will be right by their side. I am up 6a - 9p. I have 3 senior cats that sleep up high most of the day, so your pup needs to be okay with cats. All pups sleep with me in my king size bed (if they want to). I have a dog bed next to me in my office or a couch in front of a large front window. I have locked screen security doors in case your pup likes to sniff the air. Central AC (I like it cool) and heating. I have many balls and treats (if allowed) and would love to throw the ball a bit. Back yard is not huge but sufficient. All my dogs have passed and I am missing a dog so much but cant commit right now. So let me love on your pup!
“Emily & Andre respond right way and they sent me so many photos and even a video of my pup exploring their outdoor fenced yard space. I was worried before I got there because my puppy is 4 months old and very energetic, but they were able to keep her entertained and safe. My puppy played nicely with their dog and I got a photo of them sitting together. They did some training with my puppy and sent me a photo of her performing some of her tricks. They made me feel very reassured with their frequent updates that my puppy was in great hands. I'm taking her back for more doggie daycare tomorrow!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Susquehanna commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
