“Ethan was a great help and was accommodating for a last minute booking. He made sure that Maxwell would be comfortable with a meet and greet as well. He was punctual, communicative, and made sure Maxwell was well cared for. Maxwell warmed right up to him with no issue and we will definitely use Ethan again in the future.”

About: I am insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I have 2 pups Chip & Lucy ages 11 & 8 that I have raised from puppies. Many of my friends have dogs and they frequently come over. I also enjoy riding horses when I can. I have experience with working with anxious dogs & dogs in shelters also (as a volunteer). I love to take dogs for walks, to play with them & give them attention. I limit the amount of dogs I take at any given time so each pup gets lots of individual attention. You can see some of the dogs I have walked/played with in my profile pictures. I’m frequently in the Chestertown area and am more than happy to help with your pet sitting needs. I offer drop off and pick up of your pups for boarding. I am available weekday mornings 6-11 /evenings 5-10 and all day on the weekend. I can do boarding in my home after a meet and greet. I have a fenced yard and 2 friendly dogs. I can also kennel your dog if needed. Meet and greet of dogs would be needed before any overnight stays with us.
“Wendy was so great with our two dogs, 8 chickens, and fish! I highly recommend her! She responds quickly and sends lots of updates. This was the best Ive ever felt leaving my animals! Thank you Wendy!”

“Taylor is a huge help and Maxwell loves spending time with her! She is attentive and makes sure Maxwell is entertained and has someone to snuggle with during the day. 10/10 for sure!”

“Madison did an excellent job taking care of our 12 year old St.Bernard/Staffy mix, Charm! Madison was very capable, patient, kind and moved at Charm’s pace, making Charm very comfortable with her. Madison provided great communication during her service so we were worry-free during our trip! Will rebook with Madison in the future! 😊”

About: Although my family has never owned a dog, I have always loved taking care of my aunts, neighbors, and family friends dogs. I always make sure to pay attention to detail when watching a dog and meet each dogs needs whether that be a walk, playing with a toy, belly rubs, or even just relaxing. As a part-time graduate student at USM, I will have time during the day for a dog walk, or to check-in on your pup! I will be available on most weekends for house and dog sitting. I am available to come to your dog and stay with him/her so they do not have to move out of their comfortable environment and stay at a new space with new people.

About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats my entire life and have over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for pets. Growing up, my mom had five dogs—some of which had puppies—and I helped raise and care for them. I’ve also cared for cats in multi-pet households, including feeding, litter box maintenance, and creating calm, safe environments for shy or senior cats. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me for years to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets while they’re away. I now have a black Yorkie of my own, and I treat every animal I care for like part of the family—whether they bark or purr! I currently work part time- and have lots of free time! I will send out a daily schedule of what I’ll be doing with the pets! I will take your dog out on walks on our neighborhood trail outside! I also have a few ring cameras, and will send a lot of pictures/videos throughout the day.
“Maranda was fantastic. I really can’t say enough positive things about our experience with her. She was quick to learn and work with the idiosyncrasies of our two cats, took care of our house which was immaculate when we returned and communicated with us while away as much/or as little as we requested. She is very personable, respectful and responsive.”

About: I will love and take care of your pets as if they were my own. I love to go out and play with pets I care for. I would dog sit when I was in high school for different families. Those families loved how attentive I was, and as a result they would refer me to their friends. I’m always available for you buddies! You and me both know that your pets are more than pets, theyre family. You don’t want just anyone taking care of family. I do currently work full time, however I have a job that is extremely flexible. I set my own hours, including when I am in my office. This pairs perfectly with animal care and house care because I can come and go as frequently as needed. Due to my open schedule I can be available for any needs your pets may have. I prefer to let the client tell me exactly what they want for their pet. I like to keep your life as simple as possible while giving you peace of mind by following any requests you have. If you need your animal crated, if you want them roaming, whatever is asked you can expect to be done.
“Majiyah was amazing while I was away. I was a little hesitant at first about having a house sitter stay in my home, but she made me feel completely comfortable. She took great care of my dog and my home, and she really went above and beyond. When she thought he may have had a food allergy, she took the time to cook his food and make sure he was okay. She also took him to get a bath, picked up extra dog treats for him, and even cleaned my home before I got back. I noticed that my dog quickly became comfortable with her during her stay, which is always a positive sign. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was safe, cared for, and in good hands. I would definitely recommend Majiyah to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter!”

“Tre has a calm demeanor & is very professional. He came over prior to house sitting to meet our dog, who took to him immediately. He followed our schedule, took him for long walks and when we came home our dog was well adjusted and comforted. Thank you, Tre for a job well done!”

This is my side job, I am a professional photographer as well but if I get a request I will accept to the first of my availability! FAQs for House Sitting - Sudlersville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 640 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sudlersville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sudlersville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sudlersville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sudlersville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sudlersville. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
