About: We adopted my mom’s dog back in 2020, so since then I have had experience living with dogs. I then adopted my dog, Smokey, in 2024. I potty and leash trained Smokey, and also taught him numerous tricks. Then in January, I adopted Canelo, and I was able to leash and potty train him (he is older so he was sort of potty trained), along with teaching him how to use steps! I attend college one day a week, on wednesdays, so I have plenty of time! I would love to care for your pet with all of the free time I have. Whether it’s checking in or walking your dog, I’m able to do it all in the comfort of your home. At your home, I will assure to respect everything and watch over your pet with care! I am able to crate your pet at my home as well, if needed.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and I have experience taking care of a wide variety of pets. I grew up with multiple dogs and I currently care for 1 dog and 4 cats. My family has owned many pets from fish to reptiles so I’m comfortable with different types of animals and personalities! Im currently working during the day/evening in the week so my availability is primarily in the early mornings. My work schedule may vary, so I could have additional availability on certain days off. I always make sure my own pets have consistent feeding schedules and fresh water every day. I also make sure to give them extra attention when needed!

About: I have recent hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments in professional settings. I also have a lifetime of experience as a dog and cat owner and lover! As a recent doggy daycare employee, I've safely managed groups of dogs in daycare, supervised structured play, monitored body language to prevent conflicts, and provided individualized care based on each dog's needs and personality. I also work as a dog handler for a professional goose management company, where I handle border collies in outdoor environments while maintaining focus, safety, and reliable leash skills around wildlife, distractions, and changing conditions. This work has strengthened my confidence handling energetic working dogs in public spaces. My experience includes: - Supervising group play and monitoring canine body language - Individual walks and exercise - Feeding, fresh water, and medication support with instructions - Cleaning kennels and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment - Crate rotations and rest breaks - Reinforcing good manners with positive interactions - Caring for puppies, senior dogs, and high-energy breeds I love every dog like it is my own and am ready to take care of your loved one when needed! My schedule is generally very flexible! I do have a few shorter recurring commitments during the weekdays, but I have availability before and after them, as well as on evenings and weekends. If you're looking for care on a specific day or time, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to work with you to find something that fits both of our schedules whenever possible. I always try to keep pets on the routine they're most comfortable with. Whether I'm in your home or caring for your pet during a walk or drop-in visit, I'll follow your instructions for feeding, medications, potty breaks, exercise, and any special needs or preferences. I believe consistency helps pets feel safe and relaxed while you're away. My professional experience in dog daycare has taught me to pay close attention to body language, energy levels, and individual personalities. Some dogs want to play nonstop, while others just want a calm companion and a good walk. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I'll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, enrichment, and affection while also keeping safety my top priority. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.

About: I have had pets my entire life and have been pet sitting for around 10 years! I’ve cared for high energy breeds such as GSPs, senior dogs, behaviorally-difficult dogs, and everything in between. I am a graduate student with a rather flexible schedule. Other than a 2-hour obligation on Friday afternoons, I am able to make time for pets when they need it. I do not offer care in my own home but I do provide it in the pet’s home. I find that pets are more comfortable in their own space and often adjust better when going about their routine with someone else if they remain in a familiar environment. I follow instructions for entering and exiting (garage vs. front door, key vs. code, checking-in on camera system, etc.), ensure all pets are safely secured in the home before leaving, and follow any explicit instructions left for me. I do my very best to ensure the pet’s routine is followed thoroughly.

About: I work from home on Fridays and Saturday and Sundays are made to hang out extra long with pets. Monday-Thursday I am in an office with the ability to come home during lunch. I have always loved having dogs of my own, but right now I do not have one. You and your dogs will be happy to know that I love long walks and snuggles on the couch. I also understand if there are certain rules/behavior expectations set by you the owner, that I will follow them implicitly since consistency is needed to have a well-behaved dog. I will treat your furry friend as if he or she were my own. I am available most days and am flexible to help accommodate your schedule. The experience I have in pet care has come from being a previous pet owner, but what comes with that is a true understanding how precious your dog is and that you are trusting me with that huge responsibility. I work from home on Fridays and am home on the weekend, and Monday-Thursday I work in an office close enough that I can stop in for lunch for a quick game of fetch in the yard. I have a fenced in yard and I also have space in my home if your dog requires to be crated. I also live close to a park for extra long walks if needed.

About: I work as a grooming technician and have an educational background in animal and veterinary science through NSTC, which gave me a strong understanding of animal behavior, safe handling, and basic health knowledge. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including reactive and high-energy dogs. I’ve also done training work with reactive dogs, so I’m confident managing structured walks and helping dogs feel secure. In addition to sitting and walking, I can provide light grooming services such as nail trims, bath and brush, and sanitary trims upon request. I’m patient, attentive, and focused on building trust so pets feel safe and relaxed in my care. I work part-time in the pet care field, so animal care is already a regular part of my daily routine. My schedule allows flexibility for morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on the day, and I have strong weekend availability. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight house sitting in your home, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine to keep them comfortable. I provide care in my client’s home and prioritize safety, structure, and low-stress handling. As a grooming technician, I work hands-on with dogs every day and am very comfortable reading body language, recognizing stress signals, and adjusting my approach to keep pets calm. I have experience working with and training reactive dogs, so I’m especially patient and aware during walks and new situations. I carefully follow all owner instructions, keep doors and gates secure, and can crate if needed. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications. Your pet’s physical and emotional well-being always come first.

About: I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for my friends and family for several years now, and I feel my personalized approach to pet care sets me apart from other sitters. I tailor my services to meet the unique needs of each pet, whether it's keeping up with the playfulness for puppies or extra relaxation for seniors! My dedication to creating a comfortable and enriching environment ensures that your furry family members receive the love and attention they deserve while you're away! I have a passion for animals and their well-being, and love to be around them. I also am good with cats and small animals, I owned guinea pigs for 10 years and have rescued a few stray kittens from the area. She did two 30min-1hr long drop-in visits every single day and was absolutely wonderful. She is super nice, incredibly reliable, and kept me updated the entire time with excellent communication. It gave me total peace of mind knowing my cat was in such great hands. I will absolutely be booking her again!”

About: I have two family dogs in my life, as well as briefly fostering another dog in my home. I also have experience dog sitting for family friends. I absolutely love all animals especially dogs! I will be a college student taking classes in the mornings this upcoming fall semester and working part-time. I will definitely have more than enough time to take adequate care of your dog in the afternoons, evenings or on the weekends For my own pets at my house, I only have one dog. She loves to play both inside and outside. We love going to the park on walks, to work with me, or to my grandparents house to go swim at their pond! In a clients home I will take your dog on plenty of walks to get fresh air and exercise. I will make sure they get fed at meal times and that there is water in their bowl. I will give them plenty of attention as well as potty breaks.

About: I love animals and care about them more than anyone! I have had pets my whole life and I have become very good at reading dog body language as I have had moderately aggressive dogs in the past. Over the summer I was a nanny in charge of 2 young children, 2 large dogs and 1 cat. In the past I have been in charge of dispensing oral medication to multiple dogs on multiple different jobs, as well as walking dogs and playing with them and basic things of that nature. I am also good with cats and care deeply for them as well! I am currently a full time student but my schedule is fairly open! I would be available constantly after 4:30 every day and am able to check in multiple times prior to that throughout the day. I am usually free on the weekends as well as weeknights. I am comfortable walking dogs on a leash or I am happy to watch them while they play if there is a fenced in yard! I also am happy to follow whatever feeding schedule the animals are used to and I would obviously always make sure their water bowls are full! Every dog is a little different but I am usually very good at being to tell when a dog has to go outside or I will learn to recognize the signs very quickly! I would also just let them outside whenever they wake up from a nap or anything like that.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Stony Ridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
