“I was very happy with Jaideep and his wife. During the meet and greet, I felt so comfortable. Zara made herself at home immediately. They kept me updated several times a day with messages and pictures, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that my little girl was well cared for and getting lots of attention. I truly appreciated the communication. I will be using them again. Highly recommended!”

“Kathy did a great job caring for our Chelsea for an overnight stay! Chelsea was very happy when she came home. She was clearly well taken care of and enjoyed her time with Kathy. We look forward to a future stay!”

“De’Andra was so sweet & kind when it came to keeping Banks! She sent lots of pictures & videos which I loved & made sure I was really comfortable with the arrangement before I left my pup for the weekend. I will definitely have her watch Banks again! ?”

“I felt very good about the care I was receiving from videos and pictures. I felt max was in good hands and it showed a very well organised house with a fenced in yard in the back. I will definitely use him again. Thanks again”

“Stephen and his daughter were incredible - we are so glad we booked with them and will again if we need to board our cats! Even before drop-off, I needed to change the date and time twice, and Stephen was extremely accommodating and understanding. He and his daughter gave our cats lots of attention. I think they are better brushed than when they are with us. Stephen sent photos and updates twice during our 6-day trip, and I'm sure would have sent more of I had asked.”

“Dereck and Cammie are wonderful sitters. They took great care of my babies Rigby and Dakota. They sent me updates on how they were doing and even sent me pictures. Just knowing we had left them in good hands allowed us to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend. . Upon our return both dogs looked happy and well taken care of. Thank you Dereck and Cammie for taking such good care of my babies.”

“Steffany & her family were the most wonderful hosts for Kona! They took great care of her & treated her like another member of the family while she stayed over. I received updates every day & they were very flexible with my schedule. Highly recommend!!”

“Cynthia treated Lilo like a princess while I was away! Walks on her beautiful property, time near the water, and made sure she felt at home. She was communicative, punctual, and made sure to send me lots of updates.”

“Lynnea was perfect! Our 11 year old Airedale terrier has never been away from home. This was the first time we needed a sitter. I was extremely anxious about leaving her, but, I realized pretty quickly Lynnea was the best sitter I could have asked for. She sent daily pictures of Annie, she genuinely wanted Annie's stay to be safe and non-stressful for her and she achieved that with her personal attention to Annie. Thank you!”

“They are very sweet! We got pics of our dog everyday from them and were very prompt about responding to any questions/concerns throughout the time our dog was boarded with them.”

“We had a great experience with Andrew and Chelsea! They took fantastic care of my dog and provided updates on him throughout my time away. He was a happy pup when I picked him up! I highly recommend!”

“Riley was wonderful to work with. So accommodating and she was wonderful sending me pictures of Luna the whole time we were away making us feel very comfortable. Definitely will use her again!!”

“We were very happy with Rosa and her family. From start to finish, they were very caring and sweet. Since it was our first experience, we loved it. Our pups were in the best hands. We highly recommend trusting Rosa, you won’t regret it. Thank you so much, Rosa and family! From Tina and Cooper 🐶🐶🫶🏻❤️”

“Ashley & Jerrell were exceptionally kind & thoughtful, going the extra mile to help us board our dog on short notice during an emergency. Great communication throughout shifting circumstances and they were also very patient with my elderly mother. The only downside was that our dog was crated from 6:30am to 3:30pm while they were at work, but not unexpected.”

“This was my dogs first time being with a sitter and she made his stay wonderful! Stayed in communication with me and sent pics. I will deff be going with her again next time we need a sitter!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Steelstown can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Steelstown home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Steelstown.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Steelstown sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
