My dogs have a designed sleeping area for our dogs.
“We have previously used Penny for our dogs, one is our old guy, blind and needs special assistance. She is so kind and caring with him, sends pics as well. She goes above and beyond! Will for sure be using her again.”

About: I've been surrounded by dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, turtles, frogs and fish for 35+ years. I've raised, house-trained, walked, entertained and loved a variety of dogs and cats my entire life. I never get tired of these sweet creatures! I have experience with all dogs and cats, regardless of age, breed or temperament. As I'm now only working part-time providing early intervention services for children, and am self-employed, I have a great deal of flexibility to care for your dogs and cats. I'm available for drop-ins to feed, play with and care for your sweet pets as needed - throughout the day and night - as well as dog-walking, as it fits into your schedule. I've spent the last 20+ years working as a teacher and developmental therapist, educating children who have developmental delays and disabilities. Now, I've decided to focus additionally on my love of animals. Since I was a small child, I've adored pets, and have many years of experience caring for a variety of them. I'm very patient and appreciative of each animal's personality. I currently have 3 dogs and 3 cats of my own, and have used this service as a customer as well, so I can understand your point of view as "parents".

About: Taking care of dogs is my passion in life. I currently own 2 dogs, an elderly hound and a young shepherd. My love for these two made me decide to have a career in working with and training working line dogs. This career path has given me a lot of experience with dogs of all types. Whether you dog is "hard to handle" or "easy going", I will be the perfect sitter for you. My entire world revolves around dogs. On days that I'm not working with my work dog or caring for someone else's pet, I am out training my own dogs. This is my passion and dream career, and nothing makes me happier. I like to care for pets at their own home. Being in their own home and following the same routines will make them feel safe while you are gone and will build a sense of trust with me. Your pet's safety and happiness is my number one priority.
“Breagha is a friendly pup but with all the recent changes in our lives has become pretty velcro with me. She took to Allie immediately and trusted her enough to trot out across the porch without me. She willingly went out in the yard for a short walk. Allie’s kind gentle personality is a perfect match for a sensitive collie.”

About: I have had cats and dogs all my life. Currently I have thirteen fur/feather babies. Two cats, one Australian shepherd and ten chickens. My pup just turned a year old so I have more knowledge with younger pups. Can't wait to meet your fur babies! I am a stay at home mom and have flexible availability. I can be there for your fur babies practically whenever you need me! I have better weekday availability, while weekends require planning ahead. Whether you need me to walk your dog, come over to ease their anxiety or simply let them out to potty, I can meet all their needs. Or if you have a high energy dog like my Aussie, I can get some of that energy out by playing with them while you are at work.
“Eleanor did such an amazing job with my husky She was very punctual and handled Freya like a pro! It’s always a frustration of mine anytime I leave town and come back to a Wiley dog who has been allowed to pull on the leash and jump on people. Eleanor is the first dog walker I’ve had that has expertly kept Freya in line and I’m so appreciative! I will definitely be rebooking in the future.thanks so much!”

About: Pets are my world. I volunteered at an animal rescue for 8 years before I moved out of town. I had a 14-year-old rescue who was blind and diabetic. I gave him two injections a day and cooked his food every week. Let your pup be my new bestie. About: I adopted a rambunctious shelter cat 5 years ago. She’s a wild child with a big personality! And I took in a stray cat about 2 years ago, who needed lots of care, including surgeries, food insecurity behaviors, etc. I’ve cared for cats my entire life, but these 2 girls have taught me how to handle the extremes. I am very knowledgeable about cats and their needs, and I can promise you, your baby will be taken care of as if they were my own (aka like perfect princess angels that I’d go to war for) I work from home, so I can immediately take care of any and all needs. I frequently check on my 2 cats, and have no issue stepping away from my desk if needed. In my home: My 2 cats have their own bedroom, catered to their playtime and nap time. They have free rein of the house, and are very welcoming to other cats. They are up to date on vaccinations and vet care, and they do not go outside for their safety. In your home: I will treat your pet(s) as if they were my own, with kindness and patience. I will follow your routine. I will be sure to change my clothes and take off my shoes to avoid any anxiety from smells of my own pets.

I taught my own personal dog how to walk properly, sit, lay, stay, spin, to say his prayers, as well as many more when I had him! I enjoy any and every animal and breed I also have a few snakes. I request to meet the dog with the owner prior to any commitment to ensure they are comfortable with me. I took off house sitting temporarily due to past houses being unlivable. My husband also works from home so someone is available to monitor at all times! My work schedule will be changing soon, however should have the time to do drop by visits if near by. I have two friendly and playful dogs that could be entertaining, but also know how to be patient when necessary. I also have a baby gate to separate pups, if need be. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Starlight. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Starlight.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Starlight. On Rover:
- 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
