“Brit did such a great job looking after our cat Jane while we were away on a trip for a week. They are very communicative and thoughtful! I highly recommend their services and I will book them again the next time we travel! Thank you Brit!”

“Iris was very reliable and kept our social cat company twice a day while my partner and I were away. She accommodated all of our needs for feeding (including setting a timer for late night and early morning wet food), litter, and play time, and even helped manage the temperature in our apartment during the heat. Our cat was comfortable and well cared for.”

“I left Leona in charge of Romeo and my apartment while in Boston for major surgery. Leona was very responsible and took just as good of care of Romeo as well as my plants and living space as I would have. She provided peace of mind which I’m grateful for. Romeo looks forward to seeing her again!”

“I used Nicole to watch my cat, Chloe, who had just lost her litter mate of 8 years and this was going to be my first trip leaving her alone without her brother. Nicole did so well Chloe even though Chloe is super shy and skittish, she got her to come out !! I would definitely recommend her for your pet-sitting job!! She’s a super sweet human being ❤️!!”

“Beth was awesome! She was very proactive in asking questions and communicating. Our dogs warmed up to her quickly. She was thoughtful about following instructions, being on time, and really put my mind at ease. We will definitely connect with Beth again when we need care for our pups!”

“I had so much peace of mind when Court was with my kitty. She asked a lot of thoughtful questions about her care and sent detailed updates and so many cute photos. I would definitely recommend Court to anyone who needs a pet sitter!!”

About: ive had a couple of dogs growing up in my childhood, a sweet old black lab and a super crazy dingo.. in my free time after school and during summer i used to walk them, no amount of walking could satisfy my dingo..! id have her pull my bike to get all her energy out since we didnt have any closed in areas she could run off in.. ( i dont do this anymore! i realize its not very safe! she absolutely loved it for sure though) i love pups big and small old and energetic theyre all very unique and id love some new friends to get me out of the house. id ask you beforehand of course if youd be okay with them swimming, theres a pond i can bring them to after walking to cool off at. i have two cats, so id like to know how your dog reacts around small creatures, if they cant be in contact i can always but them into a room while the dog is over. most likely theyd be outside keeping me company! lots of shade and id keep em well hydrated and happy :3 i currently have been on a job hunt since what feels like forever, my schedule is very. very open.. since i dont have a car, but I have an electric scooter thanks to a helpful couple I babysat for! drop off would be ideal, if youre close enough to walk to i can do that too! my cats get their waters filled and cleaned almost daily, lots of love of course and are very spoiled. i dont have any dogs at the moment, so of course id love to chat about what youd expect and need for your lovely pup! im good with communication and friendly, special needs id be extra attentive to. im very good at remembering small things, though id still write em down incase!
“I can’t speak highly enough about Deborah. My husband and I travel a lot and we’re looking to find someone to develop a long relationship with who would take care of our 7 cats. We were happy to find Deborah and immediately got the good vibes- after her first sit where even our shy/particular cats came out for pets and food, it was clear they liked her! Deborah not only fed, watered, and cleaned up after them but took the time to give them love and attention. It’s not easy to feel comfortable leaving your fur babies in someone else’s hands, but we are happy, confident, and secure with Deborah caring for our cats. If you’re looking for someone who not only speaks cat, but also is willing and able to go the extra mile for them you have to ask her to watch your babies!”

“I can’t recommend Bella enough! From the moment I met her, I knew my pups were in great hands. She took the time to get to know my dogs and their routines, which made me feel so at ease. Throughout my time away, Bella sent me daily updates and adorable photos of my pups playing and enjoying their time. Each picture captured their happiness—tails wagging and big smiles! About: I’ve had pets since I was about 4 years old, and am experienced with caring for cats and dogs. Any needs they have, I will take care of them all - from simple company when you're at work, to walks, giving meds and overnight stays! I have experience training puppies too, from potty training to the classic "stay", "sit", "come", "leave" etc. commands. I have a large dog myself so size of your pet is no issue. Anything you're unsure about, shoot me a message! I work full time at a school but am free weekdays after 2pm until around 10pm. About: I’ve been caring for pets informally for my entire life and professionally starting 12 years ago. I care for each pet like they are my own. I am sensitive to their energy and needs. I am able to work with animals who have unique social/emotional and medical needs. I mainly work with dogs and cats but am also experienced in caring for small animals like rabbits, birds, reptiles and fish. I’m currently working part-time, and my schedule varies a bit week to week. I am free mornings and evenings, most Thursdays, as well as Mondays after 2 pm. I usually work shifts under 8 hours, so with good communication I would be thrilled to come up with a plan that will suit you and your pet(s). For now, I am able to care for and board cats and small animals in my home. In the summer, I can board dogs in my fenced in yard. For dogs and larger animals, I can take them for walks and pet sit by traveling to your home. I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)! I have managed to ensure my pet rabbit feels safe while also living with a rambunctious one-year-old labrador retriever. I am always cautious about my pets and my clients’ pet’s whereabouts. I’ve helped return missing neighborhood cats and dogs to their owners as well as assist with unexpected visits to the vet.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
