“Thank you Doug and Marisol, for taking great care of our pupster, Cosmo. He obviously had a great time, got plenty of exercise and love. Given this was his very first experience away from us, it was a breeze-- sending the photo updates certainly kept us calm! We look forward to bringing him back to your excellent care. We highly recommend your services!”

“Mark was amazing with my dog, Ollie, for the long weekend he had him. He sent photos of him cuddling on the couch and laying out in the sun, my dog’s two favorite things to do so I knew he was in good hands. When I picked up Ollie up he was happy and healthy. Mark was also very responsive, communicative and understanding throughout Ollies stay. Really couldn’t recommend him enough.”

“Cerita is my go to dog and cat sitter. She treats all of my fur babies with so much love and makes them feel completely at home. I especially appreciate the extra care she gives my senior cat, she’s very attentive when it comes to giving him his insulin.”

“Sarah was incredibly easy to coordinate with and very responsive throughout the entire process. My dog had such a great time and got along wonderfully with her pups. We’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Zuki always seems well taken care of when we pick her up. She also seems to love hanging out at Lisa’s. I almost felt like she didn’t want to come home with us when we picked her up. Lol.”

“Amber and the family made Cali feel like a member of the family. From the start the technique used to introduce her dogs To Cali was great. Received daily updates and photos. Already have a couple more stays booked.”

“Julia kept our senior pug for nearly 2 weeks and took great care of her! She was quick to communicate, provided lots of updates and was flexible with us when we returned a day early from our trip. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“Eden was an amazing dog sitter! She was very attentive, communicative, and kept me well informed throughout my pups stay. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in such great hands. I truly appreciated all the updates and care she provided. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Terri is a true animal lover. She cared for my dog Lucy over the weekend. She took Lucy for plenty of walks and even took her to the lake a couple times. Baked her some dog treats and even sent her home with a batch. Plenty of pictures. We are very pleased.”

“Corinne & Christopher is such a lovely couple who took great care of my dog Jackie Chan. From the first time we did a meet and greet- I was at ease and know they will take care of my dog as if he’s their own. Thank you so much and until the next time.”

“I’ve taken my Malinois here a few times and he loves it. He is always well cared for and leaves happy. I’ve left him here for up to a week and am totally comfortable doing so. I will definitely continue using their services.”

“Hercules and Apollo love Pilar! Definitely would recommend. I was on vacation for a week and I didn’t have to worry at all about my two dogs. She sent me photos and updates every few days. Great experience. I will use her again for any occasion. Thank you Pilar for everything.”

“Erica is the best! I was not concerned about my dogs at all during my two day trip. I was comfortable that my dogs were in good hands. Erica provided updates and pics during their entire stay. When I picked them up they seemed happy and I think one of them would have stayed if he had the option which makes me happy!! I will be requesting Erica for all my dog sitting/day care needs. Thanks Erica!!”

“It is obvious how much Marwa loves cats and takes great care of them. She was a lifesaver for my Felix as he is newly rescued, was sick and not neutered so I had very limited options on where to board him, but she was happy to have him as her only cat for the week I was gone. He loved her and came back a happy cat.”

“Good experience. Everything went smooth, my dog came back happy and healthy. Communication was good, i received pictures of my dog along the way and i could tell that the whole family loves animals. The price was fair as well. I would book again.”

“My dog always has a blast at Ronald’s. He is always well taken care of and loved on by all the kids in the family. He’s TOO excited when I tell him we are going to Ronald’s. 😝 Thank you!”

“Dama was very knowledgeable and accommodating with our little pup! She took time to let him warm up for his first stay with her. We’re thankful to find another great sitter and look forward to Sunny’s next stay with her!”

About: I grew up on a farm with many animals. We have raised our girls with many pets including: chickens, bunnies, several foster and adopted dogs, and rescuing cats that would have been euthanized to live on our farm. We have 1 acre of fully fenced yard in a cozy community. We recently had to put down our sweet pit bull and are looking to opening up our homes to care for others pets at this time. We have a lot of love to give and would appreciate your consideration. I work from home so I am available all day and night excluding of course picking up kids and family activities. We have 4 daughters, 2 of which have graduated high school and in college, 1 going into high school and a 9 year old. They have all had extensive experience with many animals and been involved with agriculture in their middle and high schools. We presently have 2 cats (one of which is fully outdoor and one that comes in at night to sleep). We understand that many individuals have cats that are fully indoor and we have ample space, beds and furniture for your cat to feel comfortable. We are also BIG dog people and missing our sweet pit bull. We have a great neighborhood for taking walks, a 1 acre fully fenced yard for running and playing in. We will keep all cats indoors at all times. We will have any animals that stay with us in our home at night and have dogs go out frequently to play.
“Our dog was happy when I picked him up from Hana. We’re so thankful that she was able to keep him as we had an unexpected death in the family and Hana graciously helped us in a bind. She took the time to get to know our boy and sent pictures every day. I’d bring our boy to stay again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Stallion Oaks home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Stallion Oaks.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Stallion Oaks sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
