“Katie took amazing care of our boy! My neighbors keep bragging on her and want her contact info for their own pets! She is prompt and let him go out and play with his dog friends every time they were outside! Thank you Katie, you are awesome!”

About: I was responsible for caring for my childhood senior dog. She was a small chihuahua mix that I was responsible for walking, feeding and giving oral medications. I also cared for a family friend’s two German Shorthaired Pointer’s for a week. My responsibilities included feeding, walking, crating and administering oral medications! I currently work full-time but have a flexible schedule that allows me to check-in on pets during the morning and evening. However, I can provide longer check-ins during the weekend and have no standing/recurring commitments during the weekend. As someone who has owned pets before, I am well aware of the safety precautions needed. I make sure that my home is pet-proof by making sure my plants are out of reach and any dangerous chemicals. I also have experience with crating dogs.

About: I have taken care of dogs within my household for 15 years now, with the additional walking & house sitting for neighbors! I recently started pet walking & sitting in Blacksburg this year and have had such a blast! As an incoming vet student this fall, I will bring an expertise and view that will be beneficial for the pet in their environment and for the owners. I am so motivated to support owners with their schedules by sitting or walking! I’m currently working part-time throughout the summer, and have time within the day to complete walks for your pets! I am also available to pet sit in-home for you if needed; preferably not Monday-Wednesday, but I am flexible! I always start off my sessions with building a connection with the pet prior. If possible, I like to meet prior to needing my services to socialize myself with the pet, so that trust can be gained. Once this is done, I love to play with the pets and cuddle them so that they feel secure! I love taking photos of the pets during walks to send to the owners, as this reassures them!

About: Ever since I was born I had an animal right by my side . I have learned to take care of animals and provide for them. I have taken care of friends, family and neighbors pets in the past. I also have worked at a dog daycare called tail chasers so I have experience with big dog groups. I’m good with cats as well . I’m experienced with walking multiple dogs at a time because I got 3 myself. I’m currently working 3:30 am to 12:00 pm so I will have plenty time to spend with your animals. I’m free on the weekends as well . Willing to come to your place to house sit and take care of your animals. I have done that in the past for people. Willing to also stop by and give water, food and walks with some play time on the side .

“Amberly was amazing! She stay at our house for a 10 day trip, and she took great care of my 2 dogs. She communicated very well and sent me photos. My dogs are my life, so it was so nice not having to worry about them while we were gone! ❤️”

“I was amazed at how quickly Chauncey (our rescue dachsshnd) warmed up the Nancye. She has this innate ability to know a dog and his needs, placing that as top priority. She texted with pictures often, I left home for a much needed few days away without a worry at all. HIGHLY recommend and feel sure we'll want Nancye to pet/house sit for us again--SOON!”

“Gracie is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviors, and made sure our dogs had a good time while we were away. She sent lots of pictures so we would know they were in good hands and we’ll definitely have her back again.”

About: I’ve grown a loving and interested heart towards dogs but have a love for lots of different pets! I’m great at caring for more than cats and dogs:) I am currently working part time as a nanny/ babysitter and am looking for more ways to spend time with all kinds of pets :) All pets I’ve had throughout my life have all freely roamed when appropriate and have been in a crate when needed:) Depending on the owners preferences I will do what they are comfortable with for their pets!

“I just can’t say enough good things about Rebecca Peterson. She has a way with dogs. My two Great Danes loved her at first meeting. She’s very responsible as far as giving medicine, yet playful with the dogs. She cuddled with them when they wanted to. House sitting for us was great. We trust her completely. She’s a keeper.”

“Savannah did an outstanding job caring for all of our pets. She handled our two large, high energy dogs with confidence and made sure they got plenty of exercise and attention. We were especially impressed with how quickly our typically shy cat warmed up to her and even started playing, which is very rare. It was clear that Savannah genuinely cares for them. We highly recommend her and will definitely be reaching out again in the future.”

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs of all ages and understand how to meet their unique needs! Whether it’s a playful puppy in training stages or supporting a senior pup with extra love and patience. I’m dependable, caring, and always focused on making pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I'm a lifelong dog lover, and have had experience taking care of my own 4 pups! Along with sitting for family and friends over the years. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine! I currently have a part-time job at Montgomery hospital and attend Radford University during the school year, but I still have plenty of availability outside of classes. A majority of my classes are done by 11 am. And Wednesdays are my busiest/fullest days. I enjoy spending my free time with animals, and I’m great at balancing my responsibilities while making sure pets get the attention and care they need! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always make sure to follow their usual routines to help the pet feel safe and comfortable. I give lots of attention, playtime, and care, and I’m happy to follow any special instructions! Whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, or favorite walking routes. I treat every home with respect and every pet like family.

“I had a good experience with Natasha watching my 2 dogs in my home over the Thanksgiving holiday. She texted me every day, always before I texted her, to update me and let me know they were ok and things were going well. She left the house very clean and the dogs looked great and seemed happy when I got home!”

About: I grew up taking care of all kinds of animals including chickens, goats, cows, pigs, and of course cats and dogs. I’ve independently cared for animals since I can remember! I am a student at Virginia Tech with a pretty flexible schedule. I have time in between my classes to be able to let your animals outside or just spend time with them! Because I live in an apartment, I unfortunately cannot house animals with me in my home. However, I am happy to take them on walks and hang out with them at their home.

“Sydney and her roommate Kirsten did an amazing job watching our pup and cats while we were away for the weekend! They were available on short notice. They sent daily photos and updates which kept us at ease while we were away from our pup! I would definitely recommend both Sydney and Kirsten to anyone looking for a sitter! We will definitely reach out again to watch our pets!”

About: Hi! I’m Madison, and I’ve been a Rover sitter since 2019. I bring both passion and experience to the table—along with a background in Veterinary Science, which I studied for four years. I’ve owned and cared for animals my entire life and currently share my home with an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix and two cats, so I’m especially comfortable with multi-pet households and active breeds. What sets me apart is my ability to balance professional care with genuine love for animals. Whether I’m caring for a playful puppy or a senior dog who needs a gentler touch, I adapt to each pet’s personality, energy level, and needs. I’m also attentive to safety—my yard is large and perfect for play, but since I live near a busier road, I take all necessary precautions to keep pets secure during outdoor time and walks. I make communication a priority. I’ll keep you updated with regular check-ins, photos, and quick messages so you always know how your pet is doing. I also offer meet-and-greets (in-person or virtual) to ensure your pet feels comfortable with me before our first booking. Thank you for considering me—I’d love the chance to give your pet the love, attention, and expert care they deserve! Even as a busy nursing student, caring for animals is one of the best parts of my day—and something I genuinely make time for. My class schedule is flexible enough that I can prioritize spending quality time with your pets, whether it’s for a long walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight care. Being around animals is a huge stress reliever for me, so I look forward to every visit. I treat every pet like they’re my own—making sure they get attention, play, and care tailored to their needs. My background in nursing means I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and confident handling schedules, medications, or special instructions. Pet care isn’t a side job for me—it’s something I love doing and work hard to do well. Your pets will get my full attention, lots of love, and a safe, happy experience every time we’re together. I have three pets of my own, so your fur baby will have plenty of company and a pet-loving environment whether I’m caring for them in your home or mine. I focus on creating a calm, structured atmosphere where your pet can feel safe and relaxed, especially since being away from their usual routine—or their favorite people—can be stressful. Whether I’m house sitting, walking your dog, or providing daycare, I do my best to stick to your pet’s regular schedule, including feeding times, walks, play, and any special routines or medications. I treat each pet like an individual, giving them the attention, patience, and care they need to feel right at home—even if they’re not. You can count on me to be respectful of your space, communicative, and totally focused on keeping your pet happy and healthy while you’re away.

“Christina exceeded all of our expectations throughout her stay in our apartment going above and beyond in pet care, communication, and cleanliness. She took the time to learn our doggo’s habits and made sure he got the care and attention he needs around the clock including walks, adventures, meals, cuddles, and medication administration. She sent daily updates (including pictures) and was able to make our vacation stress-free knowing our pup was well taken care of. In addition to Christina’s outstanding attention to our dog’s needs and her unexpectedly regular (and very reassuring) communication with us, we arrived to our apartment in better condition than we had left it. She had cleaned every room, stripped used sheets/towels, and even organized some closet space in preparation for our return. She surpassed our expectations in every aspect! Highly recommend.”

Amelia handled both of them with so much love, patience, and attentiveness. Not only is she incredibly sweet, but she also went above and beyond while I was away. I came home to a spotless house and two happy pups. She even tackled the nearly impossible task of bathing one of my dogs after she was sprayed by a skunk—something I wouldn’t wish on anyone! Amelia handled it with grace and made sure my pup was clean and comfortable. It's such a relief knowing I have someone I can truly trust with my dogs and my home. Amelia is everything you'd want in a pet sitter! She is caring, responsible, and just a genuinely wonderful person. I Highly, highly recommend her!!!”
