The photos of their facilities gave a good sense of what the dogs were provided with inside and outside, and photos of Izzie Rebecca sent to us on the days Rebecca was caring for Izzie were fun and reassuring. Lastly, their roaming farm animals were a delight. We will kennel our dog with Rebecca whenever we are in this part of the Columbia Gorge.”

About: I'm an experienced dog sitter and former dog mom just returning to Rover and accepting new and returning clients! I have decades of experience taking care of dogs, including my own, friends', and dogs in rescues and shelters. I was the dog-walking coordinator for a dog rescue and a dog-walking volunteer for a public shelter for years. I actually grew up afraid of dogs and it was a big deal for me to start volunteering to walk strange dogs; it helped build my confidence, and I was -- and still am -- very attuned to what's going on with the creature at the other end of the leash. I believe every dog has unique needs and temperament and honor these while they're in my care to ensure they feel as secure and safe as possible. DOG SITTING AND BOARDING: I work from home as an editor, so your dog will get lots of attention and potty breaks. Your dog is welcome to join me on the couch or lie at my feet for regular pets, or chill in another room in or out of a crate. Whatever will make your dog feel most at ease while you're away. I recently lost my own 15-year-old dog, so your pup will be my sole focus (and will get lots of love and care). I have a fully fenced yard at my home for potty breaks (separate from walks/hikes). If you don't have a fully fenced yard at your home, it's no problem to take your dog for leashed potty walks as frequently as necessary.

I work 7 days on 7 days off. During my off time I’m home without any other responsibilities and have all day to take care of your best friend. I have a fenced yard and two friendly small dogs to keep your baby company. My dogs are free to roam the house, but also have a guest room for them to keep space if they need it.

About: I love working with all types of animals. I'm a passionate outdoor girl that loves any type of adventure and love to take my girls everywhere to, so let me take yours with me! On my farm, I care for dogs, cats, and chickens! I have taught them to co-exist and also be themselves at the same time. Patience, love and lots of treats along with their favorite toy or exercise type whether it is 1-1 or a the dog park! To me it is about adapting to them and seeing the happy wags and the toothy (sometimes weird) smiles! We love to do adventures outdoors if they are up for it, but sometimes they may need a little TLC while you are gone so that's ok too. I have a very flexible schedule where I live and work from home and adjust my schedule to suit them. Nature calls and when it does, time to go! Also, when they need extra attention of a little hug or extra treat, it's about mind reading in a way, and I love trying to figure out their little brains! Most people and their pets have a routine. That's important. It's about communication and understanding the basic needs in life. Also, most importantly how many beds they get to have! Rules are rules and happy to follow any that come along. My house is flexible as there is literally nothing they can hurt or damage that cannot be easily replaced or fixed. Although my goal is to wear them out where they only need some treats, love and a nice soft bed from the start of the morning until they are out for the count.

As a teacher, I have summers off and a very flexible schedule during that time. During the school year, I’m available in the evenings and on weekends for pet sitting and drop-ins. I keep a safe, calm home for pets—run by two cats and one dog who think they’re in charge. I understand pet dynamics and make sure every animal feels comfortable and cared for.

About: I’ve been loving on four-leggeds for as long as I can remember—and I’ve meant every second of it. Over the past 15 years, I’ve raised two mastiffs (a Fila and a Cane Corso), both topping 180 lbs—so I’m very comfortable with big personalities and even bigger pups. My heart dog, Gauge, lived to 15, and losing him last March felt like losing a piece of myself. Caring for animals has always felt like a privilege to me. Earning their trust? That’s everything. I know every home has its own rules—whether your dog is crate-trained or couch-spoiled—and I’ll always follow your preferences to a T. That said… dogs here are treated like family. Think cozy, calm, and lots of attention. I’m a little (okay, very) obsessed with making sure they feel safe, happy, and completely at home. I’m fully prepared with all the accoutrements (think toys, high-quality treats, etc) to make your babies stay feel like their home away from home. And I simply can’t wait! If I’ve been hired to take care of someone’s fur baby, then that is my number 1 priority. I build my day around the dog’s needs. I make time for what’s necessary, and being a long time dog owner myself, having dogs in the house just comes naturally. Walks happen daily with or without pups around, so having a dog to join me would just be an added *major bonus. Potty breaks and special care requests are something I just tend to as needed. I care for pets in either my home or my clients home to my clients specifications. I do have a fully fenced back yard with a large grassy area. There’s an off-leash dog park right down the street from me that’s never very busy. I’d love to be able to take pups to the park. I also walk everyday and will be taking the dog on walks with me. I have a 5 year old son who loves animals and loves to help out with ‘the chores’ that come along with animal care.
