“Sabrina is a gem. Rocky immediately loved her. She's incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about animals. Clear communication, she asked the right questions during the meet and greet, and we felt completely comfortable with her watching our boy. We will definitely look to her for any future dog sitting needs. 💯 Recommend.”

“Ella was fantastic!! Loved getting to see a pic of our girls every day, quick to respond, and she was always on time ❤️ would have her watch our girls again in a heartbeat!”

“Natalie was great with the cats and taking care of them while we were gone. There’s not too many people outside of family we trust taking care of our pets. “Kristin was amazing with our lab, Lilo. She was so caring and was fantastic with communication and pictures. Gave us such peace of mind to know that our pup was in such good hands. Lilo already misses her (and the PB Kong treats)!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 12. My neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk and feed their dogs while away. I work full time, and I am looking to walk dogs in my free time. I am available on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s, Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s all day. I have two dogs at home, and I grew up surrounded by dogs. I currently walk and feed them daily. I am looking for dog walking opportunities within my community.
About: I have taken care of dogs since high school. I graduated college in 2023 with a degree in Health Sciences. I am currently working as an aide at a physical therapy clinic, and looking to make extra money. I love pet sitting and caring for animals is one of my strong suits. I am always willing to accommodate you and your dogs needs and I will always care for them like they are my own! I am currently working part-time so I will have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! I am a home body, so I am always at home and also have my mom and grandmom in the home to help if need be. In a clients home, I will leave it completely up to you, how I walk, feed, crate, etc. your dog. But I will always care for your dog as if they were my own! For pet sitting at my home, I do not have a fenced in yard but I usually walk the dogs on leashes around my yard or take them to the park by my house to walk them. I can crate them anywhere in the home if needed. I also have plenty of dog toys/crates/ dog accessories from my own dog.

“Very responsive and sent me a picture. Great walker! Zoë was great when I came back despite the long day in the crate for her and only one walk. He didn’t mind that she had a broken toe and cone of shame.”

About: We have owned, rescued, and fostered many fur babies, including seniors and those that have medical needs and hospice care. Fur babies are unconditional love! I am retired and have a lot of time for fur babies. Taking care of fur babies are what keeps me active and, on the go. I have a fenced yard and three smaller dogs that love to play and cuddle. My home is more suited for fur babies then humans!
About: What sets me apart is my ability to connect with pets of all ages and personalities. I have hands-on experience with both energetic puppies who need consistency and structure, as well as senior dogs who need extra patience, gentle care, and medication support. I pride myself on being calm, attentive, reliable, and adapt - making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for like my own. As I have three years of dog sitting while families are out of town, I also take extreme pride as I have fostered two amazing dogs, raising and training them until they got adopting and now rescuing and adopting a puppy of my own! My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I make time every day for walks, check-ins, and plenty of playtime — so your pets get consistent care and loving no matter what day it is! Even sometimes, if allowed, I will bring my pup around as well so that they can get the extra play, socialization, and affection that every dog needs! I only offer dog walking/ drop in visits. During walks and drop-in visits, I focus on safety, exercise, and engagement. I stick to each pet’s usual route and pace, keeping them active while making sure they’re comfortable and happy by giving them the attention and affection that is needed. For drop-ins, I handle feeding, playtime, and cleanup — and always leave detailed updates and photos so you know how your pup is doing good!
About: I’ve spent years caring for animals and have always been the person who immediately gravitates toward the pet in the room. I also have a background in pet photography, which taught me a lot about patience, reading body language, and figuring out how to make different animals feel comfortable with me. I’m affectionate, attentive, dependable, and very happy to follow whatever weird little routine your pet has convinced you is completely normal. Whether they need walks, playtime, cuddles, meals, or just someone to hang out with while you’re away, I’ll treat them like one of my own. And yes, you can absolutely expect photo updates… probably a lot of them. 📸🐾 My schedule is currently very flexible, which gives me plenty of availability for weekday walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine rather than expecting them to adjust to mine. I can also accommodate evenings and weekends, depending on the dates. I take pet care seriously, but I also know every pet comes with their own quirks, habits, and personality. I’m attentive to routines, secure doors and leashes, and all the little details that keep pets safe and comfortable. I’ll make sure they’re fed, exercised, loved on, and sufficiently entertained so they don’t spend the entire time plotting revenge for your absence. Expect regular updates, plenty of photos, and probably at least one picture that makes you question whether your pet likes me better. 📸🐾

As someone who works locally at a church from 8:30 to 5 and lives just down the road, I have plenty of time in the mornings to care for your pets. Being single, my evenings are wide open, and I always come home for lunch. Most of my evenings are spent at home, so your pets will never feel lonely if they stay with me while you’re away. I’m here to provide the care and attention they deserve! I provide loving, personalized care for pets, whether at my home or yours. From following routines to offering playtime and companionship, I ensure your pet feels safe, happy, and well-loved while you’re away.

One requires daily medication, so I am comfortable administering medicines as well! I have cared for all different dog breeds, from beagle mixes to golden retrievers to yellow labs to pit bull mixes to Bichon Frise. I’m a young professional looking to stay active! I have lots of time to care for and walk your pets in between patient care! And lots of weekend availability, too! I prefer to keep the dog in his/her natural environment. I am comfortable using harnesses and leashes! Comfortable walking the dog and/or letting them out in a fenced in yard.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
