“I'm so happy to have found Maegan and Levi and their family. My dog had so much fun and came home all happy and tired after having lots of playtime. Thank you for taking such great care of our dog!”

“Our dog Midge loved spending the day with Kirsten and her dog Bear! Kirsten was very thorough with her meet and greet and listened to us explain all of Midge's little quirks. Midge was tired and happy after a long walk and romping around the yard with her doggie pals. You can tell Kirsten and her family are total dog people and will take care of your own doggo as if it were their own. We're planning to use Kirsten for more day care and overnight stays in the future!”

“Thank you so much Rachel! She was so attentive, flexible, and understanding of my dog. I felt like he was in good hands all day and I would happily book with her again whenever I need to.”

“Maria is amazing!! Our pups got to spend the day going for walks and enjoying the company of other dogs in thr comfort of Maria's home! I think one of our dogs actually got mad that she had to leave 😉”

“Brianna was great, ready for our arrival and Mila took to her just fine. I put a lot of stock into how my Pup greets someone, and it was very comfortable. I appreciate that the house was close to where I needed to be and the calendar was open. Thank you for taking care of my girl”

“Super friendly & attentive! Provided us with excellent updates of our Icky. It was very obvious how much they love and care for all the animals in their home. Thank you, Icky made good friends today!”

“Amanda is amazing! She was so kind to watch my 13 week old golden retriever puppy Millie. Millie played all day! She was able to meet a new friend and run and dig to her hearts content. Amanda was so sweet to send me pictures and videos so I was not anxious during her first day away.”

About: I have had pets my entire life dogs, cats, rabbits and horses. I am comfortable around every type of dog, however prefer to sit smaller dogs up to 25lbs. I have a mini dachshund who is 16 years old, who misses having friends around. I am familiar with puppies through seniors. I do work from home 4 days a week. Currently I have an unfenced yard, I use retractable leashes to maintain safety when outside. Your fur-baby will get daily walks and plenty of love. I work from home 4 days a week, giving me the opportunity to give your pet plenty of attention in an adults only home with one dog for companion time. We do daily walks around the neighborhood, in a wooded area or at Manchester state park. I don’t currently have a fenced yard, outdoor time will be on retractable leashes for potty breaks, time on the fenced deck, and daily walks using your pets regular leash. Should pets need to be left home unattended I will ensure everyone is in safe, separate locations close enough companionship but not mischief. Safety and well cared for is my goal.
“My dogs had a blast! They have a nice big yard to run around in. My dog Sophie even seemed happy! She is usually very scared and nervous. They send photos of the dogs during day . Anna is very nice. I would recommend her .”

“Thanks to Kayla & family we had a great first time experience on Rover! Super responsive, accommodating, and let me bring Frankie for a visit to meet them the day before. Her kids loved on our dog and she sent pictures of Frankie snuggling😊”

“Emily has the setup when it comes to caring for dogs. Our pup, Bowie, was picked up both days happy as can be. Emily updated us throughout the day with pictures and engaged with Bowie with some of his favorite games, tug and Frisbee. He even made other dog friends! What more can you ask for. I'm handsdown booking with Emily/ Pacific Paws again ☺️”

“Tomas was great with our boxer boy, Hank. Hank played all morning in Tomas’ yard, and he was tuckered out all afternoon. Tomas kept us updated with pictures of Hank playing hard and even a snuggle towards the end of the day. We will definitely reach out again when Hank needs another play day!”

“Thanks to Cara we had a wonderful first-time experience on Rover. Yoshi did his first Rover doggy day care and he had a blast. Cara took great care of him and her little girls took to Yoshi. He came home and promptly passed out. Expecting a lot more play dates in the near future. It's awesome to find another Corgi Mom. Thank you, Cara, for welcoming Yoshi into your home. We loved the photos you sent to us throughout the day and hope to add more memories.”

“Hongyee is amazing with my two dogs. Especially Mr. Watson whom requires medication. My pups are resting peacefully after a wonderful day. I'm so grateful to have found her and look forward to many more play dates at her home! ❤️😀”
“I had an emergency come up and needed someone to watch my dog last minute, I reached out to about 10 sitters and only 1 was available and more than willing. Ro made the entire day about my dog, a day that wasn’t even planned, took him for walks, bonded with him, socialized him with other animals, just above and beyond. An incredible human being.”

“Valerie was wonderful with Winnie and we were comfortable leaving her there knowing she was in good hands. It was Winnie’s first time away from home at 13 weeks and we were so glad she did well. Valerie was fantastic!”

“Jennifer sent pictures and updates throughout the day, and went above and beyond to make Apollo comfortable. I'll definitely send Apollo there again when we're out skiing!”

“Ollie always has the best time with Beau and Mellow! We feel so comfortable sending our boy to Beau's and he comes back happy, healthy and tired from playing, every time!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Southworth
I had the feeling from the first conversation I had with Michael over the phone that this was going to be the right choice, a feeling I did not have until then. To say I was trepidatious is an understatement. I asked Michael to wait and allow Mathilda and I to get out of the vehicle, get her feet on the ground, do those doggy things doggies do and then approach him from a distance. She’s an old dog and she can be vulnerable in those uncertain moments, a formidable dog for her entire life, she now feels vulnerability in the most acute way. Because of her age and increasing infirmity, and also because she has now been a witness to the end of the lives of her siblings and her mother and her father. The wisdom of those experiences has taught her that even the most formidable will fall. Michael agreed and let us come to him out in the field where he was standing. Mathilda, while at the same time being keenly aware of his presence acted as if she already knew him or he wasn’t even standing there. I’m sure we all claim at sometime or another that all dogs love us or that we know dogs and we probably do and they probably do, but I’m very grateful that in this case it was true for Michael and Mathilda. This was not easy for me, as I have repeatedly said. it is the first time in my life, I’m 55 years old and I’ve had a dog or as many as seven every day of it, every single day. I’ve never asked an unfamiliar person to watch my dog, not once. Mathilda has been through a lot lately and I could see when I arrived to pick her up… she was lying on the bed in her blanket in front of the Christmas tree, the casual activities of a warm interior space on a cold winter night happening around her. And though Mathilda seemed forlorn in my absence, she was more comfortable and peaceful than I have seen her in a long time, Michael had to reach down and touch her, to draw her from her reverie and tell her I was there as she was so settled in and relaxed, if also sad with wonder about where I was and when I would return. Her glee at seeing me led her to, in her old age, wag her tail and emit the puppy sounds of joy. She was ready to go, quickly making her way to the door beside me, willing to leave that warm, wonderful space to come with me and I was grateful in that way that makes you count your blessings. I highly recommend Michael and encourage anyone who may like me find themselves needing a safe, loving, warm and soft, kind, and healing retreat for an old dog, or I can imagine a young dog, who is more precious to them than any other thing or all of them combined, to have faith and be patient, to be grateful, and to have trust for Michael, I have more of those things after this experience. I know I can rely on Michael and focus on my work with Mathilda in his care. i looked forward to writing this review from the moment I picked up Mathilda and we could not have had a better experience.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
