“5 stars isn't enough! Dorothy was absolutely fantastic with our three dogs, a Yorkie, a Husky, and a German Shepherd, during our 4-day trip. Managing three different personalities is no small task, but her regular updates and photos kept our minds completely at ease while away from home. When we picked up the doggos, we could easily tell that they had been genuinely loved and well cared for. Dorothy treats your pets like her own, and we will definitely be booking with her again. Very highly recommended!”

“Once again our two dogs had an amazing three days with Maddison and Wesley! They were not just taken care of but truly pampered. We got lots of pictures and updates, it was evident our furry friends were happy and comfortable!! We're grateful for the excellent care and highly recommend their services!”

“The pups had a fantastic stay! Megan took great care of them and kept in touch with us. It was their first stay with a sitter so it was a learning experience and we’re so grateful.”

“Milo had the absolute best time with Jordan and her family. He was seriously living his best life swimming in their pond everyday and playing with her kids and their dogs. They took such great care of Milo! I would definitely book a stay with them again! ♥️”

“Kristi is an amazing boarder. She did a fantastic job watching Kobe and June while we were out of town. She kept us updated with their eating schedule and sent pictures and videos. We will definitely be using Kristi again in the event we are in need of a boarder for our dogs! Can’t thank her enough.”

About: I’ve always grown up around dogs, have had multiple throughout my childhood, and adult life. They show nothing but love, and I love to reciprocate it through my care for your pet. I am home 7 days a week, and doing schooling online. I will give your pet the love and attention they need and deserve. I currently go to school full time online, so my schedule is super flexible! My schedule is your pets schedule, and will attend to anything and everything they need! I live in a house that sits on about an acre, fully fenced yard. I have scathed every foot of my yard, as I have a miniature dachshund who is very curious. I also have a doggy door on the back door of my home, that can be used at all times.
“My dogs were healthy, happy, and smelled so nice when I picked them up! Nicole took good care of them and even gave them treats for the road. Next time I need to board my dogs, I will be contacting Nicole!”

“Josh is always awesome! Takes great care of my 2 labs and he even took my Coosa to vet due to blood in her urine while I was out of town. Made sure my girl was taken care of. Josh is super awesome with his animals and treats mine like one of his own. Couldn’t recommend him anymore!”

“Karen did an excellent job with our puppy, Felix! She was so attentive and patient with our very energetic 3 month old, and texted us updates frequently. We couldn’t recommend her enough! Thank you, Karen!”

About: I’m a mom and a nurse. I have one dog who is about 10 years old. I’ve helped pet sit for my family for several years. I’ve taken care of a golden doodle service dog, hairless cat, and a few small chihuahuas. I am free for boarding every other weekend. Possibly some week nights as well. Looking to help out and do something a little different outside of my day job. I have one dog and one child in my home. My apartment building has a nice dog park and lots of grass for walking. I also enjoy going to dog parks in town.

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I currently share my home with three rescue dogs. Each came to me with their own fears, anxieties, and traumatic past experiences, and helping them build confidence and feel safe has taught me so much about dog behavior, body language, and individualized care. One of my own dogs, Evie, came from a severely abusive situation and was so fearful that she wouldn't allow anyone to touch her for weeks after coming home. Through patience, consistency, and learning to work at her pace, she transformed into the happy, affectionate dog she is today. Experiences like this have given me a special appreciation for nervous, shy, and rescue dogs who may need extra understanding. I understand that not every dog is immediately comfortable in a new environment. Whether your pup is shy, anxious, easily overstimulated, or simply needs extra patience, I take the time to learn their unique personality and help them feel secure. My goal is to create a calm, positive experience where your dog feels like part of the family. Your dog will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and enrichment while in my care. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play, and because I understand that some dogs need breaks from social interaction, I also have space to separate pets when needed so they can relax and decompress. Safety, comfort, and trust are always my top priorities. I am available Saturday through Monday and would love the opportunity to care for your furry family member as if they were my own. Pet care is already a central part of my daily routine. I currently care for three rescue dogs, so my days naturally revolve around feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, training reinforcement, and making sure each dog's individual needs are met. I am available Saturday through Monday and am home for most of the day during those times, allowing me to provide plenty of supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and playtime. Because I already maintain a structured routine for my own dogs, visiting pets are able to settle into a calm and consistent environment. I believe every dog is different, so I take the time to adjust to each pet's energy level and personality, whether they prefer active play, walks, enrichment activities, or simply relaxing in a comfortable space. Creating a safe, low-stress environment is my top priority. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor time, and all pets are supervised during introductions and play sessions. Because I have experience with rescue dogs and dogs with anxiety, I pay close attention to body language and comfort levels to help every pet feel safe and supported. My home has plenty of space for dogs to relax, and if a pet becomes overstimulated or simply prefers their own space, I can easily separate dogs to give them a calm environment to decompress. I never force interactions and always allow dogs to adjust at their own pace. I follow each owner's instructions carefully regarding feeding schedules, medications, exercise, crate routines, and any special needs. I understand that leaving your pet with someone else requires trust, so I provide regular updates, photos, and communication throughout their stay so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Velma was amazing. She was available last minute for 4th of July weekend and she took such good care of my babies. She communicated with me the entire weekend and sent me pictures of my babies. She even brushed them and they came home looking like brand new dogs! She is conveniently located also. Will definitely book Velma again. Thank you for everything!”

“Made reservation last minute and they were more than accommodating. Kept me updated with photos and the dogs looked very happy and comfortable in their care. Dogs were happy and clean when picked up and seemed exhausted after having so much fun with Austyn and the other pups.”

I have always loved caring and playing with dogs and showing them the endless love they continuously give us!! Let me be your puppies next best friend🩷 I am currently working PRN as an Occupational Therapist, however I am off most days out of the week to have tons of play time with your baby throughout the day! As a dog owner myself I know the high expectations I would have for someone caring for my pets. I plan to uphold my high standards for you and your loved ones! At my home I have a fenced yard where I spend most evenings sitting on the porch playing fetch with my babies. But, that never stops us from being a couch potatoe or going on a long walk! Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their South Elm home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your South Elm.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your South Elm sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
