“Carrie is excellent! She has watched our pets on several occasions and always does a fantastic job. She is very conscientious and a great communicator. I trust her with my boys, I can't give her any higher praise than that!”

About: I have years of experience with doggos! My first bestfriend was a dog I once had. I have been around dogs for as long as I can remember and would love to walk or babysit your dog anytime. I do need a week or two notice due to me being enrolled in college courses but I will try to be as flexible as possible! I grew up caring for my 4 dogs at my parents home and two fur nieces who are owned by my brother. My fur nieces would be the white and black husky and brown lab in my pictures. I have been dog sitting her since she was just a pupper. Love her! I am 21 years old and I adopted my first fur daughter a few months ago. She is a collie/dutch Shepard mix and is the biggest sweetheart and LOVES to play with other dog friends! My availability would be Monday and Wednesday nights after 4:30 due to classes and then all weekend all day every day! I live in a cozy but roomy one story apartment with my loving boyfriend and a loving doggo. I love long walks and runs, playing, and cuddles! I am a very patient person and I am very passionate about dogs! Dogs of all ages and breeds are welcomed by me, even pups! <3
“Shannon was very communicative while we were gone! She sent photos, and gave me an update every time she visited! She even went above and beyond, cleaning the litter area so I wouldn't come home to a mess! I will definitely be working with her in the future!”

“Jayson did absolutely amazing with my 3 pups this week and they get excited to see him for their drop in visits! I’m glad they didn’t scare him away so he can keep doing drop in visits with them 🐶🐶🐶”

“Michele was great watching our 2 large dogs for 2 days while we were out of town. She communicated the whole time with updates and photos. Gave great peace of mind!”

About: I’ve cared for animals for most of my life, including dogs, cats, chickens, peafowl, and other farm animals. I also have experience providing dog walks and drop-in visits through Wag!, where I have cared for a variety of dogs while following each pet owner’s specific instructions and routines. I understand the importance of following routines, providing safe care, and paying attention to an animal’s behavior and needs. I’m reliable, patient, and committed to treating every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet needs a drop-in visit, playtime, feeding, or companionship while you’re away, I will make sure they are well cared for and comfortable. I currently work part-time and maintain a flexible pet care schedule. My work hours can vary from week to week, but I communicate clearly with pet owners and respond promptly to requests. My weekday availability is typically in the afternoon and evening, most often after 3 PM due to my work schedule. On weekends and many days off, I have greater flexibility and can often accommodate additional daytime walks, visits, and pet care needs. When caring for pets, I focus on maintaining their normal routine and following each owner’s instructions as closely as possible. I make sure pets have fresh water, meals on schedule, exercise, bathroom breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I also pay close attention to their behavior and comfort level so I can help them feel safe and relaxed while their owner is away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in South Charleston. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
