“Wow! Devin is the absolute man. From being extremely easy to coordinate with, to catering to our many needs, Devin was an absolute pleasure to work with! Our little one is very shy and reserved and Devin was so patient and great with Buddy, by the end of their stay he was running around, engaging with the other animals, and had the biggest smile on his face when we pick him up. We 100% recommend Devin who truly took our baby in and was a joy! Thanks Devin!”

“Carolyn was so amazing with our 3 year old golden, Ellie. She sent photos every day that we were away and updated us on walks or playtime. Ellie looked so happy in every picture and that made me feel confident that she was in good hands while we were on vacation. Carolyn is funny and so sweet. She’s a dog lover at heart and it shows in how she cared for Ellie. Ellie can’t wait to go back!”

“Maegan took my two boys on very short notice without having had them before. She eased all my concerns before drop off. Once there we got the lay of the land and the boys were off and playing in no time. They came happy and tired. Thank you!!”

“Kelly was amazing with our puppy! We loved all of pictures and updates throughout the day. Kelly took Avery on a bunch of walks, trips to the park, and gave her loads of attention and loving to keep her happy and comfortable! We look forward to having Kelly take care of our pup again in the future!”

“Larry was awesome! He took great care of Luigi and was accommodating when I had to stay an extra night out of town. Will definitely be booking with him again. Thank you so much.”

“Mikaela was really great! She was gracious to watch our pup while we attended a wedding nearby and was extremely communicative leading up and throughout his stay! We would absolutely book with Mikaela again.”

“Ericca was quick to respond and helped us for doggy day care with 1 days notice. She was friendly and sent updates throughout the day on our dog. We’d love to use her again in the future!”

“"Lauren looked after Ziggy and Marley during our recent trip and everything went smoothly. Communication was easy, and the photos gave us peace of mind. We will definitely look to book with her again!"”

“Andrea was wonderful with our dog Denali. We feel so fortunate to have connected with her for our trip to Lake George. She was flexible with us when we hit unavoidable travel delays and had to meet up later than expected and at a different location. She communicated with us by text when something worried her (very reassuring!) She sent us happy dog pictures. And Denali was so happy when we picked her up. We will definitely use her again when we’re back in the area!”

“We did a trial night with my dog. I knew immediately she was perfect for my special needs fur baby! She knew exactly how to care for him and I felt at ease. She went above and beyond with Boomer We have booked Boomer next stay . I highly recommend Davis .”

“Jacqueline took such good care of our Gabby. As soon as she opened the door Gabby ran right to her. When Jacqueline picked her up Gabby gave her lots of kisses. It was such a good feeling leaving Gabby knowing she liked her. We would highly recommend Jacqueline.”

“Where do I even begin? Heidi and her family were life savers. I had a different host that I had booked well over a month before my trip, and on the day of drop off I could not get a hold of her. I was in pure panic mode, and I found Heidi. She lives even closer to my home so that was another bonus. I got all the pictures and updates constantly. She treated my fur baby as if she were her own. She gave my girl a homemade pup cup, sweet potato and rice on her food, and all the snuggles. I know that she was truly in the best hands, and the first host falling through was a blessing in disguise. I would definitely book with her again!”
“Brittany took care to make sure my dog was comfortable boarding here for the first time. Brittany provided prompt responses to any of my questions, I would board my dog with her again in the future.”

“Melissa did wonderful with our fur baby! She took her for walks and was lovely with her. Thank you so much Melissa. We will definitely contact you next time we need a sitter. :)”

“Sadie was absolutely wonderful. I was very nervous leaving my pup August and she was very communicative, sent lots of pictures, and August came home happy and healthy. I would highly recommend Sadie to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter for their fur baby.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their South Argyle home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your South Argyle.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your South Argyle sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
