“Lynana and her family did a great job with taking care of my pomeranian.. I was reluctant with this first stay as he was staying with other big dogs but it turned out to work out very well. Lynana is very experienced and professinal with thought given to what dogs breeds and temperment can be together safely and her house is well laid out for safety. The big dogs were fine and it was a good thing for my smaller dog to get exposure and make big dog friends in a safe environment. My dog loves action and I chose this sitter because she could offer lots of activity for my dog with her children and family. My dog was well played out and super tired for days when I returned. Also I have noticed since my return that my dog is more obediant and super comfortable around children. All in all a great experience! I will return.”
“I will be rebooking to board my two pups with Amber. She asked many questions when I brought Bear and Zoe over to her house to make sure she understood my pups. During their stay she sent me updates and pictures. I feel very comfortable leaving my babies with her!”
“Nick is the best! Molly has never been left with a sitter, always boarded at kennels. This personal care was so reassuring. He sent pictures of Molly. She loved being there. Would give 10 stars if possible”
“Jordan and her husband are the best dog sitters in the world. They even delivered my dogs to my home when I had a car problem. Super thankful with them and with life to have found them. See you next time guys!!!”
“We had such a wonderful experience with Kelsey! She took amazing care of our dog and went above and beyond to keep us updated with frequent photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dog was happy, comfortable, and well-loved the entire time. One of the sweetest touches was the personalized “thanks for visiting” card she made, complete with photos of our dog—it was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We truly appreciate the care and attention she put into everything. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter!”
“Heather was great to work with. She took great care of our Great Dane in her home. Heather sent lots of pictures and we were happy to know our girl was being well taken care of.”
“Alivia did a wonderful job with our dog Willow. She let Willow outside to play with her family’s own dog, and other dogs she was boarding. She kept in touch with us by sending pictures, videos, etc. I will definitely use her services again.”
“Raechel was amazing! She was very communicative, sent lots of pictures, and did a ton of exercise with our dog. She was also very accommodating when we ran late and adjusted our drop off and pick up times. We would definitely use her again. Very conveniently located near the Ford Center as we were in town for a concert.”
“Shelley was amazing! She watched our 2 dogs for 5 nights/6 days. Our 15 1/2 year old lab came with special needs which required daily bandages changes for a large ruptured tumor in her leg. Our dogs are bonded and have never been boarded. Our 6 1/2 year old pittie/heeler mix is very cautious with new people. Both our dogs loved Shelley immediately! She never flinched about the ruptured tumor, which is not for the faint of heart. She sent us pictures and updates daily, which was very appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Shelley and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Archie and Sophie says Shelley is a 10 out of 10.”
“We are so happy we found Joshua as a sitter!! He was very flexible with arranging stay and also very easy to talk to and quick to respond! I didn’t have to worry about our dogs the whole weekend because Joshua is a very trustworthy guy! I would recommend him to anyone!”
“Michelle is amazing, not only a great person and loves dogs, very down to earth, she is very responsive, gives great updates with pictures so you can see how your babies are doing. She has the sweetest little Yorkie for a playmate. She was willing to keep your exercise and feeding routine going to the best of her ability. We absolutely loved her and will be using her services again.”
“Mallory did a great job of watching my dog. I will definitely use her again the next time I'm in the area and need help. I received lots of pictures and even a video ? He was definitely loved on and got lots of cuddles and attention ?”

“Anjelica did great with my shy and nervous Sheba. By pick Sheba was seeking attention and pets from her and her husband, which to me means she felt totally comfortable in the facility. The kennels were comfy enough for Sheba to want to go in there and sleep every night. Plus the indoor play area was great. Definitely will rebook when we have to travel again.”
“Such a great feeling to be able to travel and know my girl is loved and safe. Amanda and her family are excellent sitters, great communicators, and go the extra mile to reassure you your pet is being well cared for. Highly recommend.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Somerville home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Somerville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Somerville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
