“We love Beth! She is very thorough in her visits, providing plenty of pictures and updates. We have 5 cats, 3 are social and 2 are not. She always takes time to put eyes on the non social ones to verify their well being. We recommend her highly, this being our second time having her watch our gang.”

About: I have volunteered at the SPCA for three years, taking care of small dogs, large dogs, and even cats. I even take care of people's pets in my neighborhood. Currently fitting pet care into my daily routine is no problem at all. I am a part time college student but I don't go back until the winter. I stay at home full time so I will be able to spend all day with your pet. As far as pets go, I have a very friendly lab mix named Kaya and a cat named Snickers. I also have two leopard geckos named Mushu and Yoshi. Kaya is fed twice a day, morning and evening. And Snickers is a grazer so he eats whenever he wants. I have a fenced in yard which Kaya adores. Whenever other dogs come over I let them out into the yard so they can run around and play. The yard is about half an acre and the fence is 4 and a half feet tall.

About: Hi, I’m Ayanna! I’ve always had a love for animals and have experience caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or just some extra playtime, I make sure every pup feels loved, safe, and happy while their owner is away. I have hands-on experience with pet care, including feeding, administering basic medication, and ensuring pets get plenty of exercise and attention. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, so I take the time to provide personalized care. As a responsible and trustworthy caregiver, I’ll treat your pet like family—whether they love long walks, belly rubs, or just lounging around. I’d love to meet your furry friend and give them the best care possible! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a meet-and-greet. I can’t wait to care for your pup! As a full-time college student, I have a busy schedule, but I’ve found that pet care fits in perfectly with my routine. Since my classes are spread throughout the day, I have plenty of flexibility to take on walks, drop-in visits, or even overnight pet sitting. Mornings are great for quick walks before class, and I often have free time in the afternoons and evenings to check in on pets, take them for a stroll, or just give them some extra attention while their owners are away. Weekends are even more open, making them a great time for longer stays or multiple visits. Since I’m already balancing school and other responsibilities, I love that pet care allows me to earn extra income in a way that’s both enjoyable and flexible. Plus, I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, so spending time with them never feels like work! Whether it’s a quick check-in or an overnight stay, I’m happy to fit pet care into my schedule in a way that works for both me and the pet parents I help. When I care for pets, my top priority is making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved—whether they’re staying with me or I’m looking after them in their own home. If a pet comes to stay with me, I make sure my space is welcoming and pet-friendly. I set up a cozy spot for them with their bed, food, and water, and I always take time to learn about their usual routine so I can keep things as normal as possible. Whether it’s morning walks, playtime in the afternoon, or just curling up for some quiet time, I do my best to make sure they feel at home. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their furry friend is happy and well cared for. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I take the same thoughtful approach. I follow their feeding and walking schedule closely, make sure their space stays clean, and always give them plenty of attention and companionship. I also make sure to respect the owner’s home—keeping everything tidy, locking up securely, and leaving things just as they were when I arrived. No matter where I’m caring for a pet, I treat them like family. I know how important it is for owners to feel at ease while they’re away, so I do everything I can to make the experience stress-free for both them and their pets.

About: If your furbaby desires love and affection then we are it! I have to small children ages 9yrs old that love animals just as much. Plenty of snuggles to give as well as walks and playtime 🐶 I am currently at home and have time to provide the attention and needs that your furbaby requires. During the day my kids will be in school but after school, if your little one loves attention, playtime or a lap to snuggle on; we have you covered. I have to cats, one afraid of her own shadow and will sneak in to visit once in a while where the other cat is just curious and wants a friend. Both friendly and loving.

About: I have a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to provide them with patience, attention, and a safe environment. I’m dependable, caring, and willing to take the time to learn each dog’s personality, routine, and individual needs. I do have a grasp of understanding canine body language and when they’re comfortable vs uncomfortable. I also have a lot of experience with smaller fuzzy friends such as rabbits and hamsters as well! I currently am new to the area looking for employment, and starting my pre requisites for Del Tech Community College. I have pretty open availability and flexibility for your furry friends. I can very much insure the security of leashes, collars and or harness for walks, as well as helping pups into crates if they’re crate trained at home. Helping younger pups learn with simple commands and positive reinforcement is also something I’m willing to do!

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! I grew up in a home where pets were truly part of the family, and some of my favorite childhood memories are visiting the animal shelter with my mom—often leaving with a furry friend we would foster and love until we could help find them a forever home. That lifelong love for animals has followed me into adulthood. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets when you can’t be there. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone nearby to keep them company, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I also have experience caring for senior pets and pets who require a little extra attention, including administering medications and following specific care routines. I’m patient, attentive, dependable, and most importantly, I’ll treat your pets with the same love and care I give my own. My goal is for you to be able to leave home knowing your furry family member is safe, comfortable, loved, and getting plenty of attention—and I’ll happily send updates and photos so you can see how they’re doing! We currently have 2 medium pups, Milo and Bear, along with 2 long hair cats, Phyllis and Everett. Don’t stress about them though. The fur adult cats own my son ;) so they hang with him in his room most of the time. Our other two pups love to play with other pups and are friendly. I am mostly available for dog walks or drop in visits and will be happy to accommodate boarding for families that need a quick trip or emergencies.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
