“I had Maliyah and Gabriel take care of my dog for four days (three walks a day), and honestly, they were just really solid people. They were always on time, kept everything consistent, and you could tell they weren’t just rushing through it. My dog can be a little particular with new people, but she clicked with them right away, which says a lot. Every time they came by, she seemed genuinely excited to see them. They made sure she was fed on time, took her on actual walks (not just quick bathroom breaks), and even stuck around a little longer to spend time with her. That part meant a lot to me, it didn’t feel like they were just checking a box. Overall, it just felt easy and stress-free knowing she was in good hands. I’d 100% reach out to Maliyah and Gabriel again.”

About: Pets are the absolute best. I’ve been a dog lover my whole life. I grew up with dogs, watched my neighbors dogs and have 2 dogs of my own. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their normal routine, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home while you're away. I know how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your beloved pet. I'll always treat your home with respect and care for your pet as if they were my own. I'll follow your pet's feeding, walking, medication, and potty routines, and I'll send photo updates after each visit so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to keep your pet happy, comfortable, and stress-free in their familiar environment.
“I truly can’t recommend her enough! Skye is my whole world, so trusting someone else to care for her is never easy, but she exceeded every expectation. She was so kind, attentive, and treated Skye like she was one of her own. Her communication was amazing from start to finish. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my baby was happy, safe, and loved. It was obvious how much she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. I’m so grateful we found her, and I’m honestly so sad we’re moving because I know Skye is going to miss her just as much as I will. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pet like family and make you feel completely at ease while you’re away, she’s the one. Thank you for taking such incredible care of my girl—we’ll always be grateful! ❤️”

About: I have worked both with puppies and older dogs and I know how important it is to spend quality time with the dogs. As someone who has a dog with anxiety and as a pet owner I know no one wants their pet or “fur-baby” to feel they’ve been abandoned when you are out of the house, which is why I prioritize taking time to just sit or play with them. I am college student with a flexible schedule, currently, most of my availability is anytime before noon during the week and anytime on the weekends! My yard has a fence and there are several playful and sweet dogs in surrounding homes. There are also parks near by allowing my dog and others the ability to run.

I’m 21 years old and have had the joy of owning a golden retriever, a black lab, and three cats. I am very reliable and answer my phone that way you’re able to have constant contact with me and I can accommodate your requests whether it’s taking pics with your pup or making sure the house is locked up.
About: I have always had a pet growing up. I used to have cats when I was little and then eventually turned to dogs. Currently back at home I have three dogs that I love so so so much. Here in Greenville I share custody of a dog, Saint, with my boyfriend. I love to walk so that is no problem for me when it comes to walking dogs. I also worked as an assistant for almost two years where one of my main priorities was taking care of her pitty :) I currently work part time so my availability is pretty open! I spend a lot of my time outside on walks, so it only makes sense that I open the door to including pets on my walk. I do stay in an apartment so I don't have yard space for pets, but I am willing to drive to dog parks or walking trails. I also don't mind going to other peoples home to care for their animals.
“Freddy is always so kind and so prompt. He communicates really well and even if it’s been a while, he remembers my dog and how to walk him/care for him. I highly recommend Freddy!”

About: I absolutely adore spending time and playing with dogs, and always make sure they are comfortable and their needs are being met. I volunteered at an animal shelter in high school, and have had many clients that I regularly dog walk/sit for. I am moving to NC in April and am excited to meet the new puppies there! I have open availability all day until the end of April. After that, I’m hoping to have a part time job and I’ll update my availability. I always follow the instructions given by the pet owner, and make sure that the pet is safe and happy wherever we are and whatever we are doing.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
