“Rachel is a wonderful cat sitter! My cats were very happy and well taken care of, and even Bella, who is very shy around new people, warmed up to her. Rachel was also very easy to talk to and sent daily updates.”

“Katie did a phenomenal job checking in on our cat! Each visit, she took a nice handful of photos, provided detailed notes on the visit, and spent quality time with our grumpy old lady, determined to win her over. She was also very tidy and washed out previous dinner bowls unprompted.”

“Sam was great at communication and adjusting to my schedule when I was out of town. Sam took great care of my cat and made me feel so much better about leaving her for two weeks! Thanks Sam!”

About: I have always been an animal lover! I always have to stop and pet when I see them. I have often pet sat/boarded our neighbors animals for weeks even. I love all animals! I am currently a stay at home mom so I have extra time to come walk your pets, sit with them, or even for them to come stay with me I am home all day. At my home pets are always on leash and walked on grass/sidewalk. Can be kept in a separate area if requested! Clients home is based on clients wishes (backyard/dog park/sidewalk). I also have 3 loving dogs and 2 cats that stay with me currently!

About: I have cared for several work friend's pets, including someone who had 7 medium-large dogs with a laundry list of special accommodations and medications needed I am an Army Veteran going to college, this leaves my afternoons and weekends completely free. I can alter the rest of my schedule to accommodate your pet I have a dog and cat of my own, so I have experience with the difference in the needs and behaviors of the two most common household pets. I care for their physical as well as their mental health to the best of my ability. I strive to care for all animals the same way.

About: I have previously worked with Flying Fur, a doggy daycare and boarding service located in Newport, VA. Here, I gained experience working with various breeds and temperaments, and I would be happy to help you with your animal while you are away. In high school, I took small animal care as well as vet science, and have interacted with several of the therapy dogs on Radford University Campus. I am currently a college student working part-time, and I’d love to help care for your pet on my free time!! I am free weekly in the mornings and evenings! Can’t wait to meet your pets! During the walks, I allow the dogs to go at their own pace to get a sense of security with me and I love to reward them if they are doing good!

About: Have had dogs all my life, small/large and medically complex needing meds, love to train, have done cat sitting for medical cats and normal ones I am currently a student in college but only have 2 classes a per week, also am active and am willing to change schedules around :) I am currently not taking pets for boarding as I have my own dog now, but would love to take care of your pets at your home and provide them with enrichment whenever you need/want.

About: I have taken care of dogs within my household for 15 years now, with the additional walking & house sitting for neighbors! I recently started pet walking & sitting in Blacksburg this year and have had such a blast! As an incoming vet student this fall, I will bring an expertise and view that will be beneficial for the pet in their environment and for the owners. I am so motivated to support owners with their schedules by sitting or walking! I’m currently working part-time throughout the summer, and have time within the day to complete walks for your pets! I am also available to pet sit in-home for you if needed; preferably not Monday-Wednesday, but I am flexible! I always start off my sessions with building a connection with the pet prior. If possible, I like to meet prior to needing my services to socialize myself with the pet, so that trust can be gained. Once this is done, I love to play with the pets and cuddle them so that they feel secure! I love taking photos of the pets during walks to send to the owners, as this reassures them!

“James was a great sitter for our dog, Teddy. He followed all of our care instructions, kept us updated with photos, and made sure Teddy had everything he needed while we were away. When we got home, Teddy was calm, relaxed, and settled right back into his routine. We’d be happy to book with James again.”

About: I’ve helped my mom pet sit her German shepherd for a year and I handled it well. I learned how to feed him properly and took care of him responsibly. I will be mostly available in the afternoon. Once school start, I will be mostly available during the weekends. Feel free to check with me on availability otherwise. I make sure to walk my dog at least three times a day and feed him the right amount of food at least two times a day. I will make sure to respect others when taking him outside and stop any improper behavior in time. I regularly buy him treats and toys.

About: I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I have been pet sitting and taking care of dogs for ten years and have loved each and every animal I have cared for as if they were my own. I have owned dogs and cats my whole life and have trained them myself as I got older. I have experience with puppies under the age of one and will play with them until they can’t play anymore. When I care for your pets, I promise to give them as much love and affection as they get when you are there (possibly even more). Your animals are my top priority when I am caring for them, and I will love them as much as you do until you can get back to them. I am able to care for your pets any time. I will be starting school in the fall, but that will not impact the way I love and care for your pets due to the way my class schedule is structured. I have a very friendly lab that loves to play with other dogs. I ensure that when I am in someone else’s home, I am supervising the dogs while I also make sure they are getting the exercise and enrichment required for their breed and temperament. Every dog needs different treatment, and I will adjust the way I care for them based on their own needs.

About: I was responsible for caring for my childhood senior dog. She was a small chihuahua mix that I was responsible for walking, feeding and giving oral medications. I also cared for a family friend’s two German Shorthaired Pointer’s for a week. My responsibilities included feeding, walking, crating and administering oral medications! I currently work full-time but have a flexible schedule that allows me to check-in on pets during the morning and evening. However, I can provide longer check-ins during the weekend and have no standing/recurring commitments during the weekend. As someone who has owned pets before, I am well aware of the safety precautions needed. I make sure that my home is pet-proof by making sure my plants are out of reach and any dangerous chemicals. I also have experience with crating dogs.

“Marquesa was awesome, the cats really enjoyed her company, and she was so good. We have a three-legged cat and Marquesa helped keep her clean and give the other one meds. She was so kind, helpful, responsive and professional. Would absolutely have her watch our cats again.”

“Kaylie’s been doing drop in visits for our new puppy and she’s been great to work with! Always on time and always accommodating to any last minute changes we may have. I have no doubt your pet will be in good hands with Kaylie.”

About: I’ve had several pets in my household ever since I was young. I’ve always taken care of them, and have been relied on to pet sit for neighbors, family, and friends. I’ve also trained each of my pups in the house, such as the commands sit, lay down, stay, come, paw, roll over, and many more. One of my favorite experiences was taking care of a house full of pets for about a week that consisted of 9 cats, 5 dogs, and even a rabbit! I’m a full time student at Virginia tech and can care for your pets anytime I’m not in class! Lots of my classes are online. I can guarantee a safe environment for your furry friends. I’ve had plenty of experience with dog walking, even the most aggressive of dogs. I’m able to secure your pet in a crate if needed, and any other safety measures you may need!

About: I am a veterinary student at Virginia Tech. I am looking to engage with the community and provide pet care you know you can trust. I have had extensive experience in dog sitting/walking/drop ins, as well as boarding kennel and medical experience. I want to ensure your pet's happiness while you are away and provide the best care possible. I will work with any breeds, ages, etc. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or booking inquiries! During the summer, I work at the Virginia Tech Veterinary Teaching Hospital as an assistant and at Flying Fur Dog Daycare as an attendant. I am happy to work with you around our schedules to get your pet(s) the care they need. I love to get my dog active by playing or going on walks or hikes if time allows! I will work with you and our schedules to provide your fur babies whatever they need!

About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). I am on the Virginia Tech polo team, and we are in charge of all aspects of care for our 13 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am on break from school right now, and hybrid interning part time here in Blacksburg. I am very available and excited to spend time with your pets! Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.

About: I have stayed up with puppies all night to care for them and watched them grow into cute, sweet dogs. I also adopted a cat of my own and love her to death. I am a retired college athlete with a lot more free time on my hands to fill with a job so I am available to walk or let dogs out of your home often. I will greet the pet and hopefully give them a treat to get them adapted to my scent and then give pets and take them outside on the leash.

“I’ve known Amberly since I was six years old, and she’s always been one of the most caring and dependable people in my life. Last summer, she watched my family’s three dogs for a week, and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Two of my dogs are older and needed a bit of extra help, she changed their reusable diapers and even made sure to wash them at night so they’d be clean and ready for the next day. She also took care of our cats, cleaned the litter boxes, and fed them right on schedule. She didn’t just come over and do her duties and leave, she stayed with them and kept them company. I completely trust Amberly with my pets and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who’s not just responsible, but truly kind and thoughtful too.”
