“Kate & John were amazing with my dad’s dog, Walter! He is an anxious boy, and they made sure he felt at home, and got him settled right in. Their dogs, Theo and Luna, were very friendly and welcomed him with happy tails and they had a lot of fun together. They took him on adventures to a brook, walking trails and lots of playing fetch. They were very responsive and communicative which put my nervous dad at ease and he was able to enjoy his vacation worry free. About: Our family has had dogs ever since our grown son was a child. We have owned and loved three dogs. As a retiree, I am happy to board your well-behaved, adult dog in my country home. Your dog will be the only dog I care for and will receive my full attention, as I will only care for one dog at a time. I'm retired and have plenty of time to spend with your dog. I love to walk in good weather and if your dog behaves on leash, I am happy to take your dog on safe, country hikes. If not, I have a large, fenced in yard for your dog to play in. I will treat your well-behaved dog as a family member. Our home is a quiet, relaxed setting, and a great environment for senior or fearful dogs. If you live nearby, I prefer doing a "meet and greet" with your dog prior to boarding to enable a smooth transition when it's boarding time.

About: I have always had dogs but am currently without one after my 16-year-old golden retriever passed away. I am comfortable working with dogs of all ages, and understand how their needs, routines and personalities change throughout their lives. I live in a quiet community with beach access a short walk away. If you have a pup that loves to swim, go on adventures or walks, or simply spend time outside, I would be a great fit. While your away, you can be sure they too are enjoying a mini vacation. I can work from home so your dog will not be lonely during the day. There are some days I may not be home all day, but I will be sure to give them plenty of exercise with time to run, play or swim in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. I also have a life jacket for those dogs who are not strong swimmers or who may want a little extra support in the water. I've not crated any of my dogs, but if you are more comfortable with crating, I can accommodate that if you bring yours. I do not have a fenced in yard, but I do have a small side yard, access to trails and a beach so they will get plenty of time outside.

No off-leash walking unless pre-approved in a secure area. I choose calm routes, watch weather (heat/ice/salt), carry water/poop bags/towel, and monitor body language. At home, I refresh water, feed/medicate per instructions, tidy litter or wipe paws, and do a quick home check (locks, lights, alarms). I respect your privacy, keep keys/codes secure, and never bring guests. You’ll receive clear, time-stamped photo updates—and GPS walk summaries if you’d like.
