“Benson was well cared for and happy. Tonya handled his medicine with no problems and even sent me home with some pill pockets she found that he liked. He's really picky and I was having a hard time getting him to take them. Communication was great and she sent multiple pictures. Will definitely use her again.”

Benson was well cared for and happy. Tonya handled his medicine with no problems and even sent me home with some pill pockets she found that he liked. He's really picky and I was having a hard time getting him to take them. Communication was great and she sent multiple pictures. Will definitely use her again.

This was our first experience with Tonya in Sheridan. There are only three dog sitters that I could find in the Sheridan area on Rover. One never responded back, one responded back that she was out of town and unable to help us. Tonya was the only one available to help us while we needed to leave town for three days. Tonya responded back quickly when we made an inquiry. Her communication and desire to help us was outstanding. She took the time to come to our home to meet our dog, to see how he lives, and to check out what his personality is like! I thought that was amazing and her time was really appreciated. We also were allowed to come see her home prior to booking and where he might possibly be living for three days while we would be away. This was great, as a kennel was not a good option for our dog, who has never been kenneled.....and the barking and cage like environment freaked him out! We were able to see her location, home, yard and introduce our dog to her pets prior to leaving him for our three day trip. Tonya is a loving, genuinely caring pet owner herself. Her yard is very small, but well cared for. In my opinion, It is best set up to take care of small to mid sized pets. The location is downtown Sheridan, in a busy area and the fence is not very high....and I knew our large dog could easily jump this fence if left unattended. She had a little water pool feature set up as the weather was very hot...and that was a really nice touch. Our lab mix appreciated that very much. Tonya was great about sending us photos while we were gone and answered any text right away. My only concerns if we were to leave him again with her would be the low fence, which she told us he did jump once. Upon our return I asked her directly if she ever walked him, and she was honest in her reply that he was never walked once during his three day stay...because of the heat. Because he is a large dog that is use to regular walking in the morning and evening ....and was asked to please walk him at least a couple of times a day....I can not give her a five star rating. Yes, it was very hot during his stay, and yes, she had an elderly dog at home.....but the small yard was not big enough for him to get adequate exercise and he needed to be walked. It was disappointing that he was not walked in three days. I would recommend Tanya ....she would be especially great for small pet owners or low energy pets that would be fine in a tiny fenced yard.....and we were just grateful to have found someone responsible, in a quiet and caring environment, who was willing to look after our dog while we were unable to do it ourselves. For really short day care stays... our dog would be fine there again....for longer stays it may not be a perfect fit because he needs to be walked. BUT...Tanya is a wonderful person and pet care provider overall and seems exceedingly caring and responsible. If he had been walked....she would have received a five star rating for sure.

Many sitters in WY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
