“I am extremely impressed with Renee. She came over and met both of my dogs and treated them with patience and compassion. One of my dogs is very suspicious of strangers and she was able to manage her anxiety which speaks to her dedication. It is obvious she is a true animal lover and knows how to communicate well with them through body language.”
“We’ve had a wonderful experience with Susan. She is so incredibly kind and caring. Maggie absolutely adores her and gets so excited every time she arrives. She’s also been super flexible and accommodating with our schedule, which we really appreciate. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing Maggie is in such good hands. We highly recommend Susan 😊”

About: I have had pet dogs and cats my whole life, and they have always been a cherished part of my family. I currently live in a non-pet-friendly apartment building, so Rover gives me the opportunity to care for pets while I can’t have one of my own. I work at a warehouse on second shift, so I am gone in the evenings and head back home around 1am. When housesitting, I’m able to provide care to your pets during the day until I leave for work at 3:30 pm i will do my best to adhere to your normal routine with your pets, and ensure that they are exercised, fed, and pottied before I leave for work. It is my goal to adhere to your pets’ normal routine as much as possible. When I am watching someone’s pets for the first time, I request details about their schedule, eating and play habits, special quirks, etc so that I am prepared to give them consistent and attentive care.
“Samantha did a great job of taking care of our almost 11 year old Zeus! We had some drop in visits and Samantha sent us notes and photos of her time with Zeus. We were very happy and highly recommend.”

About: From dogs to turtles to birds. I grew up with animals all my life. I have my own young pup and senior dog. I truly know the time it takes, walking/ exercising, food schedule, and love to give to both! I love love love animals, so I definitely want to incorporate pet sitting into my lifestyle; especially if it means I can help others during their travels and such. I’m a new mom, but I have a flexible schedule most days! If my hubby works during the time of your pet’s care, I will have to bring the baby so he’s not left alone. I know the value in crate training, potty/ food schedules if need be, being in a comfortable space for your pet, and anything to maintain their sanctuary at home.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life from big dogs to small. I love walking my own dogs in forest preserves and I have dog-sat my neighbor’s dog before. I also worked at a pet store for a few months. I’m currently in school and have a part time job, but my mornings during the weekdays from 6 am to 11am are free to walk your dogs. I currently don’t offer pet care in my home, but I’m happy to travel to you. I make sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved while in their own home. I follow their usual routine for feeding, walks, and playtime. I can also send updates and photos so you know they’re doing great while you’re away.
About: I’ve taken care of pets my whole life, have had dogs since I was a baby. And have consistently pet sat for neighbors and friends. I’ve also volunteered at vet clinics. I am a college student home for the summer. And I’m looking for some extra work! Please reach out if you need pet care. :) All care is provided in the client’s home so pets can stay comfortable in their own environment. I follow your pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, and playtime, and always prioritize safety, cleanliness, and respect for your home. I’m also happy to send updates and photos while you’re away!
About: Hi my name is Mozelle. I would love to help you out with any care you need for your animals. I have a yellow lab who I trained myself. I also have a cat and occasionally help train k9 working dogs in my spare time. I used to live on a farm and am great with all farm animals. I currently work full time, but am available in the mornings, Tuesdays and Thursdays, along with every other weekend off. I understand the need for dog walking and potty breaks being a working dog mom. I have a large yard, but it is not fenced. I will be sure to always have the dog on a leash. New surroundings can be curious for dogs and the safety is my biggest priority.

About: My passion for dogs has been with me since a very young age. As a child, my dream was to be a vet because of my passion and love for animals. I have 20 years of service, and my approach to caring for my dogs at home has always been holistic and natural. I've reversed my dog's diagnosed disease naturally and have saved his life naturally when vets have told me to put my dog to sleep. I'm thorough with my dogs’ routine, medication, diet, and cleaning eating. That makes me highly prepared for the dogs I tend to. Fun fact: My family and I own 17 pets! Usually, when everyone goes on a family trip, I'm the caregiver for all our pets at once. Hopefully, the background I give of my experience gives you peace in choosing me to watch your babies 🐩🐶🐕 I do freelance work; it's my main source of income. Therefore, it’s easy to create my own schedule and very flexible days and hours. It will be easier for you to book with me as I strive to work with your schedule and needs effortlessly. Personally, with my own dog, I'm highly attentive. Even though we have a backyard, I strongly believe in always being present and attentive when taking your dog out to potty. Even in your own backyard! Anytime they are outside, I will be present. I also think it’s important to interact and be present regularly with them; they need attention and love, too. I make sure to spend time with my dog when I come home and make time to play, cuddle, and show him affection . Also, it's important for me to take him out of the house. Even if it's a short walk, cruising in the car to pick up errands or food. It's important for them to explore and experience different environments.

About: I’ve had animals my whole life, including a horse, cows, pigs, and of course cats and dogs. I have a 3 year old Australian shepherd I got as a puppy and she’s my baby, much of my free time is devoted to doing what she wants, most all of my vacations include her and have something planned for her. I know how important our pets are to us 🩷 I’m currently available full time to help with your pets, I’d like to leave my weekends and evenings open but willing to make exceptions. I am a clean person and would treat your home with respect. My dog and I love going for walks and are excited to add some friends to our walks.

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life! I have experience with dog sitting and dog walking! Always excited to meet a new puppy! I am free all afternoons! But if needed in the morning or evening let me know! I’m always willing to negotiate a schedule to whatever is easiest for you! Unfortunately I am in an apartment so I will not be able to pet sit at my home, but whenever your pet needs to go outside I will keep an eye on them (especially if there is no fence)! I am able to lead a pet into a crate if needed. If there is anything else you would like me to do while with your pet let me know!
“Andie took such good care of my kitty Kali! She was very attentive and her bubbly personality made me feel so safe and reassured in leaving Kali in her hands. 200% recommend her services 🥰”

About: 10+ years of training and taking care of dogs. Have 2 amazing dogs myself. People say me and dogs have a connection. There’s never been a dog that doesn’t like me, even the “meanest” of the bunch. Treat every dog like my own. I work completely remote from the comfort of my house. I have plenty of time to do pet care. I am available on a days notice. Ready to do as many visits and take care of as many beautiful pups as possible! I will only be doing drop in visits or walks at other peoples homes. I treat every dog as if they were my own. Making sure I abide by directions and rules given by the owner. Dogs sense a good person and I promise they will sense that with me. Me and dogs have a super connection some people can’t explain
“Julianna was absolutely wonderful with my cats while I was away.My cats clearly loved her,and I really appreciated all the pictures and daily updates she sent it made me feel so much better about leaving them at home. She was very attentive, caring and very good with them. I always felt informed and reassured knowing they were in great hands. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter, and I will absolutely use her services again in the future.”

“Amber was so wonderful with our dog Kermit. He couldn’t wait for her to come back each visit. He would wait by the door for her. She gave him lots of love and attention and will definitely use her again in the future. Thank you!!!”

About: I have been taking care of the pets of friends and family for years, ranging from dog-walking to week-long pet sitting. Experience with a wide range of breeds and ages. I am a substitute teacher with a very flexible schedule, so I can take care of animals pretty much any time during days when I am not subbing. For sitting at other’s’ home, I try and keep the pet’s schedule as close to normal as possible! I prefer sitting in other’s’ homes just to keep things simple for the furry babies.
About: I've fostered dogs for years, but i currently work at a dog boarding/daycare facility so I have a good idea of how to take care of animals properly. I have a full time job at a dog kennel, but I'm very open outside of that. Do to me working semi long hours, it may be a longer time between potty breaks. I have a big yard, however it's not fenced it. I would prefer to take care of the pets in their home rather than my own.
About: I have worked with animals at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, where we house dogs, cats, and even birds, bunnies, or hamsters. I worked there for two years, and I have grown up with & been around both dogs and cats my whole life. I am currently a full time college student but I have a lot of time after classes in the afternoon and evening, as well as free time on the weekends, to accommodate. I can provide treats, toys, and love to a client’s fur baby. I’m able to take dogs on walks and potty breaks, feed and administer medicine to both dogs and cats, crate a dog if needed, or snuggle up with a client’s fur baby.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
