“It was very clear Donna was passionate about dogs, and madeit a point to accommodate Walter's preferences. He was right at home with her cute fenced in backyard and dog friendly home. She checked in and sent me a photo during Walters stay. I would absolutely bring him back next time I'm in town. Thanks Donna for making our trip worry-free.”

“Traci is awesome! She took my dog in last min cause I had to go to a funeral and took great care of her. She sent photos daily and allow me to extend. Her family and home is very welcoming. Will definitely rebook with her.”

“Autumn was great with our black Lab for a long weekend away. She sent updates with pics and videos. I felt like she spoiled our dog with lots of love and attention! Easy drop off and pick up. She definitely cares for your pet like they were her own.”

“We had a fantastic experience with our Rover sitter, Mallory! Communication was excellent from start to finish, and we really appreciated the frequent updates, photos, and messages while we were away. It was clear that our dog was receiving lots of attention, care, and affection. The biggest compliment we can give is that our dog came home calm, relaxed, and happy, a sure sign that he felt comfortable and well cared for during his stay. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. We would absolutely book with Mallory again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive sitter.”

“My dogs enjoyed their stay with Victoria, and napped the whole way home. There was a perfect mix of lounging on the couch and play time, I’m not convinced they even realized we were gone.”

About: I have been watching friends and family animals for as long as I can remember. I love being able to give comfort to the animals when their parents are not able to. I do work full-time, but I’ve always been able to help out with my friends pets at least three times a day if not more when needed. I am not able to do in-home care at the client’s house-or overnight stays at my house at this time as I have an animal in my own.

About: I’m well versed with all dogs as I’ve had pets since I was young, I’m especially familiar with high energy dogs as I have a German shorthaired pointer named Rue. Rue holds an AKC title and does various dog sports. I’m very familiar with dog behavior due to all of the training I’ve done with Rue. I’m the go to dog sitter for most of my friends and family. Whether your dog is a couch potato or is rambunctious I am ready for it! I’m a hair stylist who creates my own schedule. Because of this I’m very flexible and can be home whenever! I’m off Mondays/Sundays and my hours vary throughout the week. I like to plan gaps in my day so I’m able to go home and give your dog and mine some TLC. My boyfriend also has a flexible schedule and will be able to provide potty breaks mid-day if I’m not able to. I have a fenced in yard for pups to run around in. I also love taking the dogs for walks and on adventures if you’re okay with it! My dog Rue will be around for your dog to have a companion. I will feed dogs separately to avoid any issues surrounding food. I can also kennel your dog if needed. Rue is kenneled when I am not home, so there will be no unsupervised time with the dogs. I also have a Furbo nanny camera so I’m able to check in on dogs throughout the day while I’m not home.
About: I’m a SAHM to an almost 2 year old. We have time to spend with your animals and make sure they’re well loved and cared for . My son has been around animals and I’ve taught him to be gentle and would never leave your pet unattended. We also love taking them for walks or playing outside with them. I’m a SAHM mom to an 1 year old boy who loves animals . I’m available any time of day usually and try to spend an hour or two with the dog or cat at a time so they’re not lonely . I only care for animals in other peoples homes . I can do drop ins and if I’m house sitting for you I’ll spend a good bit of time with your animals . If I’m doing a drop in it will be for about an hour each time . If you’re worried about my son I can also bring a play pen for him
About: I have had very few years of my life without the company of a pet - first, growing up with dogs, and now taking care of other people's dogs (and cats). I often have a Golden Retriever who likes to staycay with me when his mom is away. I have boarded Golden Retrievers, Corgis, Bull Mastiffs, Chihuahuas, to name a few! I am also experienced at administering medication. Your little (or big) one will enjoy the creature comforts of a little townhome with a large area to play and exercise. Because I'm located just a couple of blocks from Gifford Park, babies who love the outdoors are just minutes away from a luxurious sprint or smelling who is new in town. When it's time to unwind, the indoors are just right. Beds and couches galore allow for a relaxing way to end the day. All cheekiness aside, I can't wait to meet you and your pet! I am currently taking a chance on a new path into a career I've always dreamed about but never had the time to pursue. At this stage in my life, I'm ready finally to try it! Animals are like children, and they come first. When they are with me, they know it! Regular vet visits, exercise, attention, healthy food, and mental stimulation are a must at my house, and I treat every animal as my own. If someone leaves me in charge of the safety and well-being of their beloved pet, I take that responsibility as high as a person possibly can. Physical safety is not my only concern. I hope to make these times away from you feel less stressful for your loved one. I am sure to give them lots of love and attention so that they feel safe until you return.
“I have had the best experience with Brittney every time she would watch my pup! My pup Renly loves her and has gotten used to being with her in her home with her family. Highly recommend!!”
About: I’ve taken care of and owned dogs for many years. I walk and lease train too, I’ve done it for my dog and a few of our neighbors dogs. I love giving dogs their “best day ever”! I work part time in the mornings, but there is someone always home who is able to provide any care that is needed while I am away (like being let outside) I will make sure your animal always feels safe and comfortable despite it being unfamiliar. I’ll make sure they always have a comfy place to sleep a nice big bowl of cold water and lots and lots of playtime. Your animals deserve the best while you’re away. they will have access to our large fully fenced in backyard whenever they please.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Shelby home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Shelby.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Shelby sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
