“Aron has been so excellent with my 9 month old Malinois! She comes home exhausted and is always excited to be there. He’s very attentive and puts up with my paranoid-dog-mom “how’s she doing?” texts every so often 😂 highly recommend!”

“Nicole and Jarrod are great, they always send lots of pictures and my pup always comes back tired and is excited to see them again. I can feel good about leaving my baby with them”

“Linda was great with my other dog and Lady really enjoyed being with her and all the dogs that were there. Thank you so much for taking care of my Lady and I hope to be able to have Lady visit more often.”

“Leslie is absolutely amazing! Ginger is 14 years old and has a lot of health issues. Leslie is incredibly understanding, patient, and compassionate. Thank you, Leslie for taking such great care of my sweet, little Ginger.”

“Sienna provided a quick response to my booking request, and was willing to take my dog on short notice. She has a large yard, and clean pet friendly home for him to enjoy during his stay. I have complete confidence in her ability to take care of my pet, and I look forward to booking with her again in the future.”
“Absolutely amazing! Dan always goes above and beyond to take great care of Kamora. He’s reliable, caring, and communicative. He always makes sure she feels comfortable and well cared for. I’m so grateful!”

“Every week I have a meeting where they ask me what I'm grateful for this week - and it's always Kelsey & Family. There is very little in my life that is routine and that's one of the very reasons why I'm so extremely GRATEFUL for this amazing place! JOMO gets to have a safe and fun place to be. To play with friends (animal and humans), to have zoomies, to take naps, to have cuddles - all while I get to deal with real world things. Love Love Love.”

“Sara helped my dog that I got from the shelter socialize with other dogs. He was timid and scared when I rescued him from the shelter, but being at Sara’s improved his social skills.”

“Amanda was great. She sent me pictures throughout his day. He obviously had a great day because he fell asleep before we got to the end of her street and he ate dinner and snored and slept all night. I'll definitely use her for my sitting needs.”

About: As a cattle dog owner, I'd like to think I have a special set of skills for crazy babies. I have always had rescues and fosters in my home. I have been fortunate to work with foster pets from the Caribbean and Mexico as well, each of these often came with health issues. I have experience with pregnant dogs and cats as well! If you are interested in having your pet stay over, know I have a very friendly dog. She has both experienced having guests and foster pets in the house as well. Tolerant and obedient. I have multiple rooms and baby gates for separation and quiet time. In general, I am a very active and outdoorsy person! So i am happy to take the pets out to the trails or the lake! I live on 10 quiet acres with a fenced yard. There is ample space to play outside or be kept safe and warm inside. I work from home 90% of the days so I can provide full time oversight and care. I also work a job where I can take the dogs with me if you approve! I am fortunate to work from home. I have the ability to provide care all day and night for your pet! I walk each morning and evening and have the option to take your pet out for a walk or a play on the property in both fenced and unfenced areas. I have an older dog who is very arthritic so I am used to caring for the elderly animals as well. Pets in my home have their own room if needed. I have plenty of space for crates. I have a large gated deck and live on 10 acres on a quiet road. My own pets walk daily with me along my road which works well for easy elder dog walks as it is shady even in the summer. It also can provide great training ground as there is little traffic. For the high energy babies, we can play fetch or take to the trails nearby. I have always had rescue pitties so I am comfortable with big cuddly babies. I adopted a cattle dog pup who had clinical anxiety which has taught me how to care for highly intelligent, high energy dogs as well. Treats, love, and confidence makes for a happy dog!

“Leslie was my kind of people, AND my doggos' kind of people! She was patient with my anxious guy Walter and delighted in the antics of our puppy Dolly. She was lovely about my concerns and allowed me to sit with the dogs to ease into the stay and socializing with her dog Daisy, who was gracious about the energy my dogs have! We will definitely be back! Thank you, Leslie!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Shady Glen
Nina is a champ. Our puppy is going through a very trying age, where he’s trying to hump everything in sight. We explained everything to Nina and suggested some ways she could stop him, but she has the sweetest huge black lab who was the best dog trainer we could hope for. That and Nina’s eagle eye. She said our puppy only tried to hump his playmates once or twice, and all she had to do was make a sound and he cut it out. What a relief and what an improvement. Can’t wait to book again so that our puppy can finally get consistent socialisation and learn some puppy manners!

As of August 2026, there are 336 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Shady Glen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Shady Glen commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
