Aliya is great with my pup! He’s always excited to see her and when I get home he is happy and calm. She takes him out for walks and runs him. He is always fed appropriately. She is very tidy in the house and respectful of my space. I trust her being alone in my home overnight and I am so grateful she is able to help me take care of my sweet pup.

About: I am experienced with different pets young or old, large or small, cold or hot. I have clipped wings, removed poop from my shoulder and put diapers on my Siberian Husky. I have time to put Rover ahead of everything else. I have transportation and time to set and play with these little or big guys. My pets are well taken care of. I feed them twice a day along with water. Throughout the day most of the time I have treats for them. I play with them at different times when they are not sitting in my lap. I brush my pets about every other day when they are not trying to get my hand. They sleep at the end of my bed and the next day we start all over again. I'm a lucky human!!

Heather was awesome! My husband and I recently moved here and have a rescue that’s quite nervous of new people. Heather was patient and calm and met her a few times before sitting. She took her sensitivities in stride and gave her space the first few days. My rescue warmed up to her really quick! She did a great job of keeping with communication everyday and sent pictures of each of my animals each day. We will definitely be using her again in the future as all 4 of my girls LOVED her.

Alyssa was amazing with Teddy! She took great care of him and our house while we were gone. This was one of our first times leaving our pup alone with someone for an extended period of time and I could not be more happy we chose Alyssa! She sent us updates and pictures, gave Teddy lots of love and just overall provided us with a sense of comfort and security while we were gone. I would recommend Alyssa to anyone that asked and we will be hiring her again in the future! Thanks Alyssa for taking such good care of Teddy!!

About: I have taken care of a variety of pet and animals since I was young. I myself have 2 dogs, 4 cats, and even a couple goats. I am very comfortable around a variety of sized animals and have experience not only with my own pets but also sitting for a variety of small and large dogs as well as cats. I am currently taking part time classes for the summer and will potentially be working part time during the week. With that being said, I will be available in the evenings and at various times throughout the day depending on my schedule that week! I am very flexible and would love to work with you to ensure your pets have the best experience. I have experience working with dogs from under a year to more senior in age, as well as puppies to large breeds. I am available to stop in for potty breaks throughout the day, do meals and such in the mornings and evenings, and stay over to house sit overnight if needed. Some other experience I have is working with additional pets such as cats, reptiles, and small critters.

During his stay he was super communicative, sending regular status updates and pictures. As a houseguest he was very respectful, keeping up with the mail and making sure to leave the place as he found it. We will definitely have Steve and/or Wanda back!

About: I have 1 of my own dogs who lives with me. But I also have experience with a total of 4 dogs as my parents have 3. All are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I am comfortable with all medium and small size dogs. I do request that they are house trained. I like to take dogs on walks but if they are smaller it is okay if they are not perfect at walking on a leash. I can even help work with them on that. I currently work a normal day job during the week. But I work remote, that means that the dogs would not be alone at all during the day. They would have someone to care for them, take them out and feed them if necessary. Every day it is not raining, I do go on a 1 mile walk with my dog on my lunch so that they get good exercise. HOUSE SITTING: I can work remote from your house providing care all day. However, my dog Charlie would also have to come with me. If this is something that you do not feel comfortable with, I can offer drop in help instead. I have 1 of my own dogs (Charlie) who lives with me full time. My apartment is fully equipped for a dog to be here safely. I have a balcony where the dogs can spend time enjoying the fresh air. My dog gets along with all other dogs and is very friendly as he used to go to daycare with many other dogs. I have the ability to walk the dogs, get them fresh air and exercise. I also have dog toys and bones available for them to use. Dogs are allowed in all areas of my place. Including the couch, dog beds and human beds. Allowing them to be where they feel the most comfortable.

About: I have a lifelong passion for caring for cats and dogs. I've had cats all my life and currently have a 15-year-old dog and 2 indoor/outdoor cats. I've also volunteered in dog boarding at a local business, where I was responsible for taking all the dogs out to potty at night. Your pets will be in loving and experienced hands! I am currently a stay at home Mom. So your pets will have cuddles and plenty of play time throughout the day! I typically start my morning at 6:30. So early morning risers are no problem for me! I live in a 2 story house and have plenty of space for your fur baby. I can make any accommodations to make your baby comfortable in your home or mine. FAQs for House Sitting - Sedalia

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 239 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sedalia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sedalia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sedalia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sedalia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
