David is an exceptional pet sitter! One of our little dogs suffers from anxiety and is on medication. We've never left her before and were very nervous about going away for a few days. We needn't have been! All the dogs loved him, and it is obvious that he loves dogs. He is sincere, conscientious and communicative, and we will definitely be using him again the next time we need a sitter.

About: I’m a dependable animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all sizes and temperaments. I’ve spent a lot of time around dogs, cats, and other small animals, and I’m comfortable handling feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and basic care routines. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to watch their pets because I treat every animal like my own—making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. My goal is always to provide a calm, reliable environment where pets get plenty of attention, activity, and love. I have plenty of time to care and love your dog. I treat every animal as if it was my own. My home is also spacious and I have a large fenced in back yard with a back porch. Your dog will get all the love and cuddles while you’re away and be in great hands! I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of room. I also live in a reasonably sized home and have two young children that will love and play with them. They will be able to hangout and sleep with me or on a dog bed! 😊

This is our first time using Rover as our pet sitter provider and they didn't disappoint my expectations. The process of choosing and meeting your dog caretaker was easy, transparent and reliable. We chose Ms. Kimmie and let me tell you, my dog fell in love with her from the beginning. Cane Corsos are really good on reading people and their intentions, they never let their guard down. Our baby was so into Ms. Kimmie, and that right there was a good sign for us. At that moment, we knew that she was the one. We understood that our baby was gonna be in good hands and our house as well. Ms. Kimmie kept us updated with kahlua activities and even send us pictures of our baby having fun with her. We just claimed Ms. Kimmie as Kahlua Godmother and our personal dog caretaker from now on. If you are looking for a reliable, easy going, fun and attentive dog caretaker I can assure you that Ms. Kimmie is the best choice.

Megan was a fantastic sitter for our 2 dogs! From the very first time she came over to meet us her communication was excellent, and we really enjoyed the regular pictures and videos we got from her we were away. But most importantly, we felt great about leaving our pets and our home in her hands. Now all I’m worried about is that our dogs are sad that she left! ❤️

About: Reliable, active, and caring dog sitter who treats every pup like family. I provide personalized attention, plenty of playtime, and a safe, loving environment so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. As a teacher and volleyball coach, caring for others is already a big part of my daily routine. My schedule is built around responsibility, consistency, and staying active, which makes pet care a natural fit. Whether it’s morning walks, playtime, feeding, or evening check-ins, I make sure every pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and care throughout the day. I follow your pet’s normal routine; such as feeding, walks, playtime, and cuddles; while keeping your home tidy, secure, and filled with comfort in your absence

About: I grew up with the sweetest, most loving dog. My family lost her years back, and I’ve missed having a dog of my own, but being a student, I do not have time to get one. However, I have dog sat and cared more family members and friends and have loved every second! ❤️ I recently graduated from grad school and just moved down to TX with my fiancée! I am currently studying for my boards exam and am available all day M-F. 🤗 I have a house with a fenced in yard, feel comfortable with crating dogs, and any additional responsibilities that may be asked of me! I also love running, if any pups have a little more energy to burn through!

Amber was great with my senior dog, ‘Imi. ‘Imi can be very aloof and sometimes never warms up to people, but by the second day was already napping cuddled up next to Amber. I got plenty of photos and videos while I was out of town, and Amber did a great job administering ‘Imi’s meds and looking out for her other health issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Amber again, or to recommend Amber as a sitter.

About: I’ve casually taken care of dogs and cats for friends for several years, but I’ve had experience handling farm animals like alpacas since I was eight. I’m not afraid of cleaning messes or handling big pets, and I love to pamper my fluffy clientele! I’m a college student who has a lot of availability, so I’m here for your pets every need. I can pop in early morning, noon, and late at night! I like to keep every environment I’m in better than I found it, and I’m happy to tidy up and comfort my fluffy pet friends when their family is away

We had a lovely experience booking Andrea. We got lots of updates, pictures, and videos of our kitties. Andrea was very thoughtful and gave our cat his medicine even when we were about to be home so we had one less thing to do after a hectic day. I would definitely book again if our cats needed watching ☺️

Darren is a thoughtful care giver for my fur babies. After months of not walking them, he got them back into a routine to help myself and my dogs on the road to wellness. Our home was cared for and has been super attentive to our needs. All instructions were followed and felt confident about Darren's care while we were on holiday. I highly recommend his services!

About: I know choosing someone to care for your dog isn’t just about finding someone who can fill a food bowl and take them outside—it’s about finding someone you can actually trust with a member of your family. I grew up with dogs and have several years of dog-sitting experience, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, routines, ages, and energy levels. One of the biggest things I prioritize is keeping your dog’s routine as normal as possible while you’re away. If they’re used to a morning walk, a certain feeding schedule, playtime before bed, or even have their own little quirks and habits, I want to know about them! I’m happy to follow detailed instructions and tailor my visits to what your dog needs rather than treating every pet the same. I can help with walks, bathroom breaks, feeding and fresh water, playtime and exercise, basic medications, enrichment, and of course plenty of attention and cuddles. I’m also patient with dogs who are shy or need a little extra time to warm up, as well as energetic dogs who need more activity and engagement. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m a big communicator and will keep you updated with pictures and messages so you never have to wonder how your dog is doing. I’m also flexible and understand that plans and pet-care needs can change. Pets have always been family to me, and when your dog is in my care, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and maybe even a little spoiled until you get home! I’m currently a student Monday through Thursday, but I have plenty of flexibility throughout the week to make sure your pets get the care and attention they need! During the week, I’m available for drop-in visits and walks from the early evening through nighttime, which is perfect for after-work walks, dinner visits, playtime, or bedtime check-ins. Friday through Sunday, my schedule is much more open, and I’m available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and longer visits. My weekends allow me to be especially flexible with timing and work around your pet’s normal routine. I understand that every pet and household has a different schedule, so I’m always happy to communicate and find times that work best for you. I’ll also keep my Rover availability updated so you’ll know when I’m available! I’m definitely the type of sitter who wants to know all of your pet’s little quirks before you leave, where they like to sleep, their favorite toy, what time they expect dinner, their usual walking route, and even the things they’re not allowed to do (no matter how convincing they may be!). When I’m in your home, I want your pet’s day to feel as normal as possible. I’ll stick closely to their usual feeding, walking, bathroom, medication, and playtime routines while giving them the amount of attention they’re comfortable with. Some pets want a new best friend immediately, while others need their space, and I’m happy to let them set the pace. I’m also very mindful of the little things that keep pets safe. I always double-check doors and gates, make sure leashes and harnesses are secure before heading outside, keep an eye on what they may be getting into, and make sure they have fresh water and everything they need before I leave. I know you’re trusting me with both your pet and your home, and I don’t take that lightly. I’ll respect your space, clean up after your pet, and leave everything the way I found it. I’ll also keep you updated with pictures and messages, because as a pet owner myself, I know I’d want to see that my pet is happy and doing well while I’m away!

FAQs for House Sitting - Seaton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 381 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Seaton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seaton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seaton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seaton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Seaton. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
