“I really appreciate the time and care. Emily took with taking care of my babies. Being able to watch them in my home meant so much to me with me traveling it keeps the dogs feeling comfortable and I really appreciated that from her. I can tell that the dogs really enjoyed her and the time they were able to spend they were just as happy when I left as when I got home. I think her so much will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Ashleigh was a great sitter. She was very flexible and communicated throughout the entire week stay. She asked questions consistently when she needed something and kept me up to date on my dogs!”

“Courtney was great! She did a meet and greet the day before. We have a German Shephard and two Labradoodles. She was punctual, professional and even threw the squeaky ball for the Shephard nonstop several times. I will use her again if we need someone!”

“I have had quite a few rover sitters due to moving for jobs and she has been the best by far! I felt like my dogs were well taken care of and she sent both pictures as well a couple of videos of all the cuddles/playtime. She was also respectful and dependable.”

About: My attention to detail and helping ensure pet parents have a relaxing time on vacay by proving top-tier care sets me apart from other sitters. I like to send pictures I’ve taken throughout the day to pet parents and let them know what we did for the day. My 3+ years of experience working at a doggy daycare has helped me understand our furry friends. I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages - puppies to seniors, given meds, and took care of a dog with paralyzed back legs. Love providing care for our furry friends! I’m currently working part time in the evenings typically on the weekends. Other than that, I’m free during the day/night. I typically work 4/5 hours in the evening. I’m off by 9 pm at the latest. For previous client care, I’ve either stayed overnight at their house or made several trips during the day and evening. If I stay overnight, I wake up let them outside to go potty and then feed breakfast (if they get it). Let them out again after breakfast. If I didn’t stay over night, then I would arrive in the morning and do the same process as if I stayed overnight. I will hang out with them and let them go outside to potty several times throughout the day. I will also try and play fetch if they like that. For dinner, it’s the same process as breakfast. I’ve also taken some dogs on walks to get their exercise in. Anything to keep our furry friends needs met!

“Elizabeth house sat with two of our dogs. (one being a large Presa Canario) She was exactly on time both meeting them beforehand and again when we were leaving on our trip. My wife and I were both very confident we made a good choice. It is easy to tell Elizabeth is a true animal lover and also very aware and professional. Our dogs loved her and looked happy and comfortable in the pictures she sent. Our house was left as clean or cleaner than we left. She was great communicating with. We almost hate to leave such a great review out of fear she will be booked when we take more trips. 100% we will be going to her first for any of our dog sitting needs.”

“This was our first experience using Rover so my wife and I were slightly nervous, however after meeting Spirit and seeing how she was with Roland we decided to give it a shot. While we were gone we received pictures and videos daily letting us know our boy was in the best possible hands. Roland can’t wait for the next time!”

“Raechel is incredible! She is reliable and trustworthy. She took great care of our two dogs for a week. They loved her! We came back to clean house too. We are very happy with her services and highly recommend her.”

About: I have taken care of dogs for over 10 years. My first baby was Kramer (cockapoo) and now I have a big boy named Koda (Golden Retriever). I love all pets, but specifically dogs. They are so loving, loyal, and kind, and I love to give that to them in return. I work as a professor at an university and usually done around 1pm each day, so I can let the babies out for their afternoon/evening potty breaks. I am also free for the summer due to school letting out, so I will have way more free time from May until the middle of August to give your baby attention any time of day. I have a fenced yard and a golden retriever for your baby to play with. Sometimes, I have my sister's dog to babysit so there will be another friend.
About: I have had a cat or dog since I was 5 years old. I have taken care of my pets and neighbors and friends pets. I can walk, feed, and bathe them. I am free anytime Saturday and Sunday. I work Monday-Friday in the healthcare industry, but can stop by after work to check on them. I am happy to send pictures to you so you can stay updated on their care. After a phone interview, I come over and meet you and the pets before you leave. If it’s a good fit I learn their schedule so that I can help you by keeping them on that schedule.
About: I love animals. I was a former foster pet parent. We ended up adopting. We have adopted three dogs and they are our families world. Can’t imagine life without them. I’m able to help with your pet after my work hours and before my 8 hour shifts at the hospital and on the weekends as needed. Would love to pet sit or walk your animals. I love pets and helping when needed. I usually work 8 hour shifts at the hospital.
“We had Leland stay at our house while we went on vacation. I always feel comfortable and at ease when I hire him. Leland does a fantastic job. Our girls love him and I can tell he cares about them. He is very nice and respectful. I 100% recommend him.”

“Anna did such a good job caring for Mowgli and communicating with me. Mowgli is currently a very involved medical case, and Anna took on the challenge like a pro. She restricted his activity (no easy feat with a large breed puppy), changed countless bandages (including purchasing more supplies), gave oral medication, used a light therapy device, and brushed his teeth! All the while she was sending me photos of Mowgli and commenting how cute he was. She even bought him a toy! I am so relieved that the person taking care of my whole world (!) loved him like I do. Her passion and ability to follow detailed instructions helped Mowgli continue to heal in my absence. I will certainly book Anna again and encourage anyone looking for a dependable caretaker to do the same. Thank you, Anna ♥️”

“Sarah did an amazing job taking care of my two Newfoundlands and my home. She was incredibly reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about the dogs as if they were her own. Every day she kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Both dogs were happy, well cared for, and in great condition when I returned. The house was also well looked after. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional dog sitter. I couldn’t be happier with her service!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Sardis
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 308 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sardis. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sardis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sardis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sardis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sardis. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
