“My first time with Rover and what a nice experience it was to be able to know that my babies were in good hands. A great relief to know they were safe and taken care of. Will likely use this sitter and service again. Thank you”

“Thank you so much. Lacy and Macy love your energy. You were right on time, made sure they did their business outside, and gave them some much needed attention. Great person/great dog sitter!”

“Absolutely will rebook when needed. Stephanie is extremely detail oriented and leaves funny notes that help a worried parent like myself relieved. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you Stephanie!!”

About: Ive taken care of many dogs since I was a child. Most recently, I worked at the Kansas Humane Society; nearly every department at one time or another. Emotionally draining, but still is my Dream job :) I worked in the Behavior Dept., assessing all the newcomers, as well as behavior modification sessions. I know, from first hand experience, that, yes, one can teach an old dog new tricks. The geriatric doggos are always my favorite. They've done a fantastic job, now it's our turn to provide them with the end of life they deserve. My two doggos are the center of my world....we like to go on walkies...would live to have some new friends to go with. They are also the official testers for my homemade dog treats...I make them from scratch (I can pronounce all of the ingredients). I'm addition, I re-purpose older items into enrichment activities and doggo toys. Using homemade games and toys, I try to not let them get bored at home; We do enjoy naps throughout the day. Once a month or so, I like to walk them, one at a time, through a local pet store. Besides it being good socialization work, I let them each pick out their own toy. Entertainment for all of us :) My yard is not fenced, so my guys stay on lead while playing outdoors. We occasionally go to the local dog park. Then, leashes come off, and they can run and play as much as they want. I also enjoy creating games out of household items to keep their sniffers and brains working in tip-top shape. I make treats from scratch often; I home-cook dog food when I have enough time. They really like the frozen treats I make in the summer. Healthy tummy, healthy mind. :)
“Marissa was so kind in responding to my messages. We loved receiving her pictures of our boys. They were calm and happy when we returned. We will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I worked at a dog boarding/playcare facility for 2.5 years. I was responsible for monitoring dogs body language for safe and healthy off leash play. Administered medications according to owner and vet guidelines to dogs and cats. Bathed, blow dried, brushed, and gave nail trims to dogs. Prepared food and water for 40+ dogs according to owner guidelines and allergy restrictions. Trained to watch for pet related issues such as seizures, kennel cough, heat stroke, bloat and other serious issues, and to act accordingly. I currently don’t have a job as I just moved and graduated from college. I absolutely love all animals and love taking care of them. I have a large fenced back yard that has a dog pool. I have a 9 month old golden retriever puppy to keep your pup(s) company while in my care! I can crate your dog if needed or preferred.
About: I have cared for my own dogs for the last 20 years. Occasionally, I have watched and cared for the dogs of close friends. Enjoy providing a safe haven for pets while "their people" are away. I am a retired school teacher. I do work part-time at a local church as the Children's Ministry Director, but have plenty of time available for pet care when I am not working. I have a fenced backyard and one friendly dog of my own. Charlie is a spaniel mix that isn't aggressive. I won't take more than one family's dogs at a time so your pet(s) can be assured individual attention in a quiet friendly home.
About: An almost-lifetime of dog care, including senior and disabled pets. I've cared for dogs of all sizes and ages in various combinations. Most of my own pets have been rescues, so I have extensive experience with dogs with "quirks" and those that require specialized care, schedules, and medications. My pup always walks 3-4 times a day, for at least 30 minutes each time. I work during the day, but I come home for lunch every day for a midday potty break. For him, it's a great balance between rest and activity. I'd be happy to take your pup(s) along with us or adjust as needed! I'm often home on weekends and like to take my pets along on short errands for extra quality time. My dog Rocky is a spry senior who loves other dogs. He does roam freely at home, but we always walk with a harness and leash. He's lived with medium and large dogs with different dispositions, so he warms up quickly. I can work with pets in crates and have plenty of space to separate food, toys, etc. My doors are always closed, and my home is partially child-proofed, so there's no need to worry about your pup(s) getting into things they shouldn't. I live across the street from a vet in case of emergencies.
“Megan was great! It was so nice not to have to worry about our dog and birds while we were gone. She was very flexible with times and made leaving our dog at home a breeze. Definitely recommend!”
About: I have lived with dogs, cats and other kinds of animals in my home since I was little and I have had neighbors and close friends who have trusted me to take care of their pets. I am a person who has a full-time job during the week but on weekends I am more than available and with plenty of free time. I live with two adorable dogs who would love another friend to keep them company, along with 24/7 access to the backyard which is fenced for your pet's protection and comfort.
“Nathan responds timely to messages and does his best to be flexible. He won over my three cats - including the one most wary of new people. I know my cats will be well taken care by him, including my cat who needs two different medications. Each of my cats has specific needs, but he pays attention to those things to ensure they get what they need when I am away.”

About: I have always had dogs since I was a kid and I have always loved them. I currently don't have any pets in my home so I would love to be able to give some love to other peoples pets. I have also been around dogs of all ages I currently do have a day job but I come home for lunch every day and I am home the whole time in the mornings and weekends and I am also home on the weekends. I am a pretty active person so I would love to bring your dog on whatever walks I am going on. I have a good sized fenced in backyard and I can crate the dog or leave them out in the house depending on requests from the owner!
“Sarah was awesome! She even sent pictures of my doggos. Thank you so much for helping on short notice! 100% suggest Sarah, thank you for taking care of my pups. So happy marvel recognized you from our previous pet care choice!!”

About: I've been around pets my entire life. Friends and family have relied on me to check-in on and walk their beloved pets. I would love to do the same for you! Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine easily because I am currently taking online classes. Because of this I am home full time. I give tons of love and time for play. I will reach out to owners with pictures and updates daily or as often as you prefer.
About: I have always had pets and I grew up pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors. I have also worked in doggy daycare at PetSmart. Currently, I work at the Rolling Hills Zoo so I am clearly very invested in animal welfare. I am currently working full-time at the zoo so my weekend is empty to care for other animals. My availability during the week will change week by week, but I will make sure to keep that updated. I have a dog at my home who loves to run around in the backyard and I take him on walks all the time. I’m happy to do whatever you need me to do to take care of your animals.
“Sydney is THE BEST. I’ve had multiple Rovers, and she is by far the most caring, loving individual to my pups. My dogs adore her and she has an amazing natural way of working with them on her visits. Thanks Sydney!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Salina
Kuta is so amazing! Her love for our dog Molly is always evident but never more than when we were out of town and Molly got sick. She needed to be taken to our vet. Kuta not only kept us informed of the situation but also took off work to take her to the vet for us. She is definitely a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
