“We are new to the Northeast and planned a trip out of the country for our anniversary. Dustin was very responsive from the beginning. He came to the house prior to meet our pups and get a scope of the house. He kept us informed of their well being with pictures and even made Henry's birthday special while we were gone. He also took great care of the house. Dustin will definitely be our first reserve on future travels. We know both the pups and the house are in great hands.”

About: Hi, we’re Eric and Cassie! We’re passionate animal lovers and proud pet parents to a loving, goofy Golden Retriever. We understand that pets are family, and we know how important it is to find someone you can trust with their care. We would love the opportunity to provide your furry friends with the attention, affection, and care they deserve while giving you peace of mind. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to your pet's routine, we’ll treat them as if they were our own. We look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🐾 Eric is currently only taking grad classes over the summer so his schedule is very flexible. We are both very active individuals so we love going for multiple walks daily and would love to fit your pet into our cadence. Eric am 6'4 and able to handle dogs big and small on a leash. As a Special Educator (and dog owner), I am familiar with positive reinforcement and use it when walking dogs. Cassie has grown up taking care of her neighbors animals while they were on vacation and loves to spend time playing with them, sitting with them and getting their energy out.
About: I am new to Rover :)) I have taken care of dogs since high school. I graduated college in 2023 with a degree in Health Sciences. I am currently working as an aide at a physical therapy clinic, and looking to make extra money. I love pet sitting and caring for animals is one of my strong suits. I am always willing to accommodate you and your dogs needs and I will always care for them like they are my own! I am currently working part-time so I will have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! I am a home body, so I am always at home and also have my mom and grandmom in the home to help if need be. In a clients home, I will leave it completely up to you, how I walk, feed, crate, etc. your dog. But I will always care for your dog as if they were my own! For pet sitting at my home, I do not have a fenced in yard but I usually walk the dogs on leashes around my yard or take them to the park by my house to walk them. I can crate them anywhere in the home if needed. I also have plenty of dog toys/crates/ dog accessories from my own dog.
“Kat is the best dog/house sitter we have ever experienced. I am a hover mom, it is something I am working to overcome. We have never had a bad experience using Rover, but we had bad experiences before finding Rover, which lead to me becoming a hover mom. The first night we were away, poor Kat had so many phone calls from me. But we have cameras for just the dogs, again we have had serious issues so you have to cut me some slack. I could see Kat taking such good care of the girls. She took them to the park on the one and only day it was not raining. Because it was raining Kat had the extra difficult task of keeping our wood floors paw print free, and she did a great job. The girls were loved up a lot. The older dog, Thelma, was carried up the stairs every night. Thank God Kat is strong because Thelma is large and in charge. Louise can be a brat, but she grew very close to Kat quickly. Kat remembered to put a leash on Louise who is a runner every time and to lock the door every time. Louise needs time out in her playpen when she gets too tired, she is a small dog who thinks she is so big. Kat is the only sitter we have ever hired that understood a cranky furbaby is just like a cranky child, they need their own place and space to chill out. Kat used the playpen just the right amount of time. Kat also used just the right timing and amount of medication to control Thelma's bone pain. Honestly, I would be hard pressed to find even the smallest concern about the care the girls received. We will definitely be hiring Kat again very soon. The girls got too clingy due to Covid restrictions so we plan to take more short overnight trips just to get a break from being furbaby parents. The sleep in does us good. She even gave the girls a treat and the special note when she left was just adorable. I hope after this raving review Kat is available for us, but I really just want all animals to have a a great sitter experience. Kat will give you this experience.”

About: Let’s be real: your dog deserves a break that’s actually fun! I’m here to make sure they get exactly that. I used to work at a veterinary hospital but now I just sub so I’m the person who naturally notices the "little things," but when I’m walking your pup, it’s all about the good stuff—fresh air, tail wags, and a serious amount of attention!!! I’ll keep you in the loop with plenty of cute photo updates so you don’t feel like you’re missing out. This isn't just a job for me; I converse, love and care for each dog or cat as my own. I work part time at a vet clinic, which gives me a flexible schedule for mid-day walks and weekend adventures! Whether your pup needs a quick potty break or a stroll to burn off energy, I’m here to make sure they get exactly what they need while you’re busy. Getting out with your dog is the best part of my day. Since I work in a veterinary environment, safety is second nature to me. I’m the person who double-checks the leash, keeps a sharp eye on surroundings, and makes sure the water bowl is always fresh. I treat your home with respect and your pet like they’re my own. Expect plenty of cute photo updates so you can see exactly how much fun we're having!

About: I had a dog as a child. I have had dogs for over 35 years. They are great company and a great addition to any family. I am retired. My time would be totally devoted to spending time with your pet(s). I look forward to giving you the comfort that your pets are well-cared for while you are not home. My pets at home are pretty spoiled. They are not crated and we play inside and outside. Whatever the owners require is what I will do. Unfortunately, my most recent dog died of cancer. I miss her; but look forward to taking good care of other people’s pets.

About: We always had a family dog growing up, so I’ve been training, bathing, feeding and walking for as long as I can remember! I’ve taken daytime and overnight care of newborn pups to elderly dogs, as well as many cats, mostly belonging to friends (and friends of friends), so I’m excited to join Rover and help your pet get the love and care they deserve! I am currently working a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of opportunity to find a time that works to take care of your pet! I have my own transportation and a flexible schedule, so I am perfectly comfortable popping by to take care of your pet. I don’t have any dependents, so if overnight stays are what you need, I am happy to do that too! I keep a tidy house and tidy pet :)

“Kaitlyn was amazing with Melvin! She came in very last minute to help care for him when I had multiple competing priorities. She kept him calm and happy and took him on a great walk. Very happy!”

About: I've had pets my whole life and currently have a cat who I love taking care of! I also am comfortable taking care of dogs. I work part time with flexible hours so I have lots of free time to take care of your pet! I'm free most mornings, afternoons and evenings. When I take care of a dog I'll take them for walks, clean up after them, play with them, and make sure they have food, water and plenty of attention.
About: - I’ve been employed at a veterinary hospital for a few years and I am trained to take care of all types of animals - Trained to administer medication of all kinds (injections, oral syringes, manually pilling, etc.) - Trained to evaluate new dogs to see if they are good to play in larger settings with 30+ dogs - Very patient with animals of all temperaments - All I want is for you and your pets to be happy and comfortable :) I work on a rotating bi weekly schedule, meaning some weeks I work 6/7 days and other weeks I am in 4/7 days. I don’t do anything outside of work so getting back to the animals/ taking breaks to see them throughout work is expected on my end and will not be an issue. I have a fenced in yard at my aunts house where I live with her and her Jack Russell Pug who is shy, but good with other dogs. I have an open yard at my parents home (Schwenksville PA) with lots of room to run and play under supervision. I also have a Staffordshire Terrier at my parents house who loves to run and play with other dogs while being supervised.
“Tabor N. is such an amazing dog sitter! We have two small dogs, and he went over and beyond to make sure they were taken care of while we were away. Tabor spent the night four nights. During the four nights, and five days, he made sure that he was at our home a majority of the time until he had to go to work. When he did go to work, or had to leave our home for whatever reason, he wasn't gone long. He was punctual, respectful of our home, and most importantly, incredibly sweet and attentive to our pups! Chewy and Tango can be very scared around strangers, but Tabor made them feel comfortable right away! Tabor also made us smile many times with videos and photos of our babies which made us feel so comfortable, at ease and happy! We highly recommend Tabor to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter! We will definitely be using him again many times in the future! Thank you, Tabor! Thank you for caring and loving our pups as much as we do! They really are our babies... Thank you Rover.com for finding amazing caring people for us!”

“Juliette was so responsive with the lead-up to her watching my cat, Artemis. She contacted me about how Artemis was doing during each visit and she was so kind. I would recommend booking her because she really made sure Artemis was well looked after.”

“Braelin stayed with our two big pups over a long weekend and she was great with them! She sent pics and kept me updated as necessary. I could tell they were getting a lot of love and attention and thoroughly enjoying it! She took good care of our home also. Although she is new to Rover, Braelin has a lot of previous dog sitting and care experience. I would not hesitate to book her. She was very responsive since our first interaction and handles herself professionally. And most importantly, my pups loved her:)”

“Joanna was great! She gave the perfect amount updates on my greyhound, Minerva while we were away and she kept our house super neat and clean. Minerva was so relaxed when we got home so we know she had a great weekend too! Would highly recommend!”
“Morgan is the best! Our kitty is shy and has anxiety which causes her congestion issues to flare up. She was so comfortable with Morgan from the start! Morgan was able to pet, brush and play with Esther! With Morgan there we felt so at ease and were able to relax and enjoy vacation! I swear Morgan is some kind of pet whisperer! 🥰”

“Sheryl and her husband were truly OUTSTANDING! They came through for me when I found myself with an 11th hour need, and took excellent care of my 15week puppy over the weekend. They gave her lots of playtime and affection. You can trust Sheryl to take excellent care of your dog.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Salford
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 5,174 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Salford. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Salford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Salford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Salford. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
