I also have some grooming experience, so I am familiar with animals in a professional setting as well. I currently work for Instacart and attend NC State University. I'll be able to take care of your pets any time I'm not in school! I will care for your pets to your exact specifications and keep them great company! “Ceshele house sit and took care of our dog for about a week. Not only is she a great house sitter (took out the trash, stripped the beds-all without us asking), she is also an amazing dog sitter. She sent daily updates and pictures a few times a day too. I would recommend her to anyone I know needing house and dog sitting. We will definitely be repeat clients!”

About: I'm the old school type of handler. I've learned that the human to animal bond is essential to each of us. I do things with your dogs that require full trust. I understand the responsibility involved in caring for them. I usually remain armed when I walk your pups. I also wear a vest containing emergency medical supplies, extra slip leads, dog treats, and large reflective letters "K-9" on the back for everyone approaching from behind to be aware. While walking, I'm keeping constant situational awareness. I'm confident in my ability to handle any situation that may present itself. I do work with aggressive dogs and other behavior issues. THERE ARE NO BAD DOGS, is my belief. Let's address the problem of pet obesity now. I've started offering a dog jog for morning and afternoon appointments. I use an electric trike to gradually get your dog fit as it gets faster and further as we go. Depending on the physical shape, it may need to work up to the trike. Either way, the fat will become muscle soon and the dog will be healthier with this exercise. I currently walk and train in St. James Plantation. I'd like to stay near home. I'm kinda picky about the people I work with. Hopefully you are too. 🐩 🐕 🐶 🦮 🐕🦺 🐈 I'm actually very flexible. The clients I have are very understanding and respectful of my time. Likewise, if something unexpected comes up, I understand. I want to be the one who comes to mind when that next emergency hits you, and you need someone who will drop everything for you and come save the day! I want to be closer than family for you. People have different ideas about the way they raise their pets. It's important to me that I know everything I can about your bond with your pets. Keeping the established routine is always a priority. I take notes and execute a plan based on what you want.

“Sherry and her husband were fantastic. They cared for our puppy Maxwell for a week while we were out of town. They addressed all of his needs including medication and diet modifications. As he was recovering from a recent illness. In addition to carrying for Maxwell, they kept our home tidy and were flexible when our flight was canceled and we returned home a day late. Will definitely consider having them care for Maxwell in the future.”

About: I grew up with family dogs and cats. You name it, we’ve had the breed. From chihuahuas, to huskies, to dobermans, to great danes. Therefore extremely comfortable with all sized fur babies. I have experience with all ages, from puppies as we have bred our great danes years ago, twice, to elderly dogs who are blind and/or deaf. etc. I actually have my own pup, she is a husky. Her name is cora and she is definitely a handful but i am blessed my hands are full with a smart, funny yet stubborn puppy haha. I also have cats, lazy fat house cats haha. I was looking for job opportunity that will allow me flexibility, work with fur babies (may or may not like them better then humans haha) and to be a mom to my 10 months old daughter as well, that is why i am pursuing Rover in hopes i can do it all at once. Looking forward to meeting your fur babies soon :) My pets daily care is naturally apart of my daily routine, she is family. Not just an animal. Animals cannot fend for themselves, it is important to me that my animals feel important, instead of a burden. My husky, Cora, is walked every two hours and fed two meals a day and has access to water 24/7. I am flexible to learn other animals schedules and eating times, as every animal is different.

About: I love all animals, and I really enjoy outdoor activities, so I work well with energetic animals, but I am happy to take care of just about any kind or size of animal. I am off of work from Sunday to Tuesday, so those days typically work best for me to give my full attention to any animals. I am in an apartment, so watching animals at their original home typically works best for me, but I could make watching animals at my apartment work.

About: 7 years of loving your pets. Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — not just as pets, but as companions, teachers, and joy-bringers. I’ve always felt most at peace when I’m surrounded by animals and nature. Whether I’m hiking a quiet trail with a furry friend by my side, playing fetch in an open field, or simply relaxing on a porch after a long day outdoors, I find happiness in the simple, grounded connection that dogs and the natural world provide. I value patience, kindness, and structure — all qualities that guide the way I care for animals. For me, caring for dogs isn't just a job — it’s who I am at my core. I am a dedicated and compassionate animal care professional with hands-on experience in canine enrichment, behavioral observation, and facility operations. At Woof Pack Pet Services in Boone, NC, I served as an Enrichment Counselor, Kennel Attendant, and New Hire Trainer, where I led tailored group enrichment sessions to promote dogs' mental well-being, trained new staff in safe and effective animal handling protocols, and developed individualized care plans for dogs with medical or behavioral needs. I also administered medications, monitored health changes, and maintained strong communication with both clients and veterinary professionals to ensure timely care. At Mills River Dog Camp in Mills River, NC, I expanded my leadership skills as a Shift Supervisor, managing the daily care of over 50 dogs, supervising staff, and implementing training and de-escalation strategies for anxious or reactive dogs. I’m experienced in maintaining detailed health and behavior records and have consistently prioritized both animal welfare and client satisfaction through attentive care, structured routines, and open communication. When you trust me with your pet, you're not just getting someone who knows how to follow instructions — you're getting someone who genuinely cares. I have extensive hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including those with medical needs, behavioral challenges, or a little extra anxiety. I treat every animal with the same level of attentiveness, patience, and love that I would want for my own. I believe in clear communication, both with animals and their people, and I always aim to provide peace of mind through consistent care, safety, and respect. Whether your pet needs a playful buddy, a calm presence, or a structured routine, I’m here to ensure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care is an integral part of my life and a true passion. Daily, I dedicate time to understanding and meeting each animal’s unique needs—whether it’s through enrichment activities, administering medications, or simply providing companionship and comfort. Over the years, I’ve developed routines that prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of pets in my care, balancing structured schedules with flexibility to respond to individual behaviors and health changes. Weekly, I continuously update my knowledge on animal behavior and care techniques to ensure the highest quality of service. I am now seeking to turn this dedication into a full-time career where I can combine my hands-on experience, love for animals, and commitment to their welfare to make a meaningful difference every day. I tailor my pet care approach based on the environment and individual needs of each animal. In my home, I create a calm, safe, and engaging space with plenty of enrichment activities, consistent routines, and close monitoring of health and behavior to ensure pets feel comfortable and loved. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their established routines, preferences, and any specific care instructions. I focus on maintaining consistency to reduce stress, providing companionship, administering medications if needed, and keeping the environment clean and secure. Communication with the pet owner is key to ensuring their pet’s needs are met and any concerns are promptly addressed. My priority is always the well-being and happiness of the pet, adapting my care style to create a positive, trusting experience whether at home or theirs.

About: I have been raised with all types of animals. Family and friends have trusted me to stop in for quick visits and also spend the night and care for babies for extended periods of time. I currently am taking online college classes and working part time so I am capable of working my schedule around when I would need to be available for you and your pets needs. My own pets have their own crates, and are friendly. I also have 3 cats that are used to being around dogs of all sizes.

Saint James pet parents share their Rover experiences
We cannot say enough good things about Dan. It can be difficult to decide if a pet sitter is as good as the reviews. This is how we knew Dan was the one. My 13 year old French Bulldog mix Cecil has never approached anyone, he is always very cautious and it takes a long while for him to warm to strangers. Within 2 minutes, Dan had Cecil eating out the palm of his hand. Our orientation with Dan further put any doubts out of our mind. Dan took our dogs to the dog parks and provided the exercise our active young aussiedoodle Rocco and our old man Cecil requires. While we were on our trip, Dan supplied regular updates and pics. When a forest fire broke out in our area, Dan was ready to take the pups and evacuate. He also kept us posted on the fire in relation to our home. Dan treats our pups like his own. Upon our return, our home was in perfect condition, our pups were extremely well taken care of. Dan goes above and beyond to make sure he is providing the best care for the animals. Dan should be your go to person for any type of pet sitting.
