Carole was an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! She stayed with our 1.5-year-old rescue puppy and our 11-year-old cat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was friendly, reliable, and consistently sent plenty of updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Carole spent quality time caring for and playing with our puppy, making sure his energy and needs were met, while also being respectful of both pets’ unique personalities and boundaries—especially important for our older cat. It was clear she truly cares about animals and takes the time to understand them individually. We would highly recommend Carole to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter, and we

About: What sets me apart is that I truly care about getting to know each pet as an individual. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. every animal has their own personality, routine, and little quirks, and I want them to feel comfortable, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m dependable, attentive, and happy to give your pets the extra attention they deserve. Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in visit, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own. I also love keeping pet parents updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind. My goal is simple: for your pets to have a fun, comfortable experience and for you to feel completely confident knowing they’re being cared for. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I’m dependable, organized, and enjoy making time to give pets the attention and care they need. I’m happy to work walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and cuddles into my schedule while following each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible. I plan ahead so I can be consistent and present during each visit, rather than rushing through care. I also make time to send pet parents updates and photos, helping you feel connected and reassured while you’re away. I like to think of pet sitting as stepping into a pet’s world without disrupting it. I pay attention to the small details—their favorite spot to nap, the sound they make when they want attention, the toys they ignore, and the routines that help them feel at ease. My goal is to make your absence feel as uneventful as possible for them. During each visit, I’ll follow your instructions carefully while adding plenty of patience, playtime, affection, walks, meals, fresh water, litter box care, and whatever else your pet needs. I won’t treat the visit like a quick checklist; I’ll take the time to notice how your pet is doing and respond to their personality and mood. I’ll also leave your home even better than I found it and keep you updated with thoughtful messages and photos—not just proof that I stopped by, but little glimpses of how your pet is spending their day.

Mai and Jonathan are wonderful dog sitters - going above and beyond to care for our two dogs. They took excellent care of our home and communicated with pictures and videos throughout their sit. Since they both work from home, they were with the dogs far more often than other sitters, and we are so appreciative of their kindness and enthusiasm with our babies. Highly recommend!

I wanted my dog to have human companionship while I was out of town for a week. She has separation anxiety and has never been left alone. Christina not only spent some time during the day with her, but she spent several nights listen my dog as well. And it didn't cost any more than a kennel where she would have been alone in a cage most of the time.

This was our first time booking with rover. Rachel’s profile stood out to us since she had pictures of schnauzers on her page and that’s what we have. Rachel came to our house a day early to meet our girls and get acquainted with them. I was so happy to see that our timid rescue girl even put her paws on Rachel’s leg, which was a huge indication that she felt comfortable with Rachel. She took great care of our girls and I had no worries about Rachel being at our house. She confirmed the times and sent us pictures of our very relaxed girls and even had one of them camped out laying beside her. We are definitely going to be using Rachel again!

About: I am a respectful and caring sitter waiting to assist! 🩷 I currently have two dogs, a rescue named Kali and a mini golden doddle, Bentley! Over the years, I’ve taken care of my own dogs and friends/families whenever needed! I promise to be gentle, caring and responsible when watching or walking your baby 🦮 I work full time, remotely from 9-5pm. My day to day schedule is not busy and I am open to be more flexible if needed. I have an unfenced large backyard where I usually leash my dogs to walk or play. Inside my home, there is space in my basement, where my office is, to allow any dog of any size to play.

About: I have a lifelong love for dogs and years of hands-on experience caring for them. I grew up around dogs and currently have my own pitbull named Sage, who I adopted and trained myself. She is the sweetest girl and has taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and giving dogs the love and structure they need to thrive. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, basic training reinforcement, and making sure dogs feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine because animals have always been a big part of my life. I care for my own dog, Sage, every day by making sure she gets exercise, attention, and proper care. I also regularly help take care of my boyfriend’s five cats, so feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and giving them love and attention is something I’m very used to doing throughout the week. Because I’m already in the habit of caring for animals daily, it’s easy for me to incorporate pet sitting into my schedule and make sure every pet gets the time, care, and attention they deserve. When caring for pets, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible by feeding them on schedule, making sure they have fresh water, taking dogs on walks or letting them out for bathroom breaks, and giving them plenty of attention and playtime. I also keep litter boxes clean for cats and make sure they get the affection and care they need. Because I’ve grown up around many different animals and currently care for my own dog, Sage, as well as my boyfriend’s five cats, I’m very comfortable with different personalities and needs. I’m attentive, patient, and always treat every pet like they’re my own while making sure the home stays clean and everything is exactly how the owner expects.

FAQs for House Sitting - Saddle Up Estates

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Saddle Up Estates on Rover is $33.86 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,765 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saddle Up Estates. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saddle Up Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saddle Up Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saddle Up Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saddle Up Estates. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
