“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Kelsi! Will definitely book again next time we need a sitter. She took amazing care of my dogs and communication was great. We got fun little updates and pictures everyday. Thank you!!”
“Jessica took such great care of PB while we were away! I can tell she kept him busy and active by how sleepy he’s been since coming home. He’s one happy guy, and it’s clear he had a great time with her!”
“Susie was so comforting to have as our first Rover experience. She treats her canine guests like family. Didn’t have any worries during our time away. Thanks to Susie!”
“Nancy is so wonderful - a safe and loving temporary home for our very special little guy. We not only felt comfortable knowing Nancy was giving Teddy the best care, but also that they were probably both enjoying each others company while we were away. Teddy came home in one piece and was his same normal, happy self. Thank you so much for opening your home to Teddy, Nancy - we hope for more visits soon!”
“Kristopher was so kind, conscientious and meticulous with the care of our beloved babes! He sent great photos of them having a blast with him. 10/10 for sure, and we will be calling him again when we need pet care. So grateful! Thank you, Kristopher! :D”
“So happy to have come across Jennifer and Eric before boarding our pup. Seeing photos of him snuggling their kids and knowing he was being loved on all week gave us so much peace of mind while we were on vacation. Thank you guys so much!”
“Payton is the best! She is extremely good with dogs. My deaf puppy Finn is super high energy and he requires more care than your average dog. I felt Payton went above and beyond in caring for him. She sent me countless videos and updates, which made leaving my pup easier. I highly recommend Payton for boarding!”
“Samantha and Brian’s family watched our Wheaten Terrier for two weeks. They kept us updated with photos and we knew he was in good hands. Thanks for giving Charlie lots of snuggles while we were away.”
“Sue was incredible! Our pup, Cass, was so sad that our luggage was out and was obviously feeling very anxious, but as soon as she met Sue and got to see her incredible yard, all her fears were eased! Sue sent us the cutest updates and we never worried about how Cass was. We will definitely have Sue watch our pup again in the future!”
“I was really uncomfortable leaving gracie with anyone, she is almost 2 and has never been left. My daughter had used Tara in the past and suggested I check Tara out as she was really pleased with her. So I did. I took Gracie to Tara she as there 6 days. Tara commented well with me, sent several pictures. Tara just makes you feel very confident your pet is in good hands. I would recommend Tara to anyone looking for a sitter for their pets. I would take Gracie back to Tara without any hesitation. I really appreciate and respect Tara.”
“Christina and her pack are wonderful! A lovely family and friendly Dogs. You can see they are totally dedicated to their pets and visiting pets. Nigel was well cared for and I did not worry about him a bit. I highly recommend them and hope to use them again in the future.”
“Colton and Nicole were great!!! They were wonderful with my puppy and made her feel right at home. I’m sure she can’t wait to go back! They made me feel as ease by sending many updates throughout the week. They were wonderful, and I highly recommend anyone leaving their dog with them.”
“We had such a wonderful experience with our Siru! She took phenomenal care of our dog and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. This was our first time leaving him with a sitter, and she was so personable, kind, and communicative that she immediately put us at ease. She sent us lots of updates and adorable pictures throughout his stay, which we really appreciated and made being away from him so much easier. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and treated him like her own. We came home to a very happy, well-loved dog! We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely use her again. Thank you, Siru!”
“Diana did a great job of caring for my dog while I was on a long trip! She was happy when I returned, and I could tell she had been well-cared-for. She sent me plenty of picture updates of the adventures they went on while I was away.”
“5 stars aren’t enough to rate Hannah and her family for taking care of my dog. They did an amazing job at keeping me updated of his everyday life, sent me pictures and videos where I could see he was having fun and being cared for. There was an unexpected freeze, and Hannah was very responsive to my messages because I was worried. I also had to extend his stay for several more days, and they were so nice about it. I am very happy and will definitely have him stay with them again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Rural Dell home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Rural Dell.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Rural Dell sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
