About: I have been taking care of the animals of close friends and family since I was 19 years old. In addition to taking care of cats and dogs, I am also an experienced farm hand. I have taken care of horses, chickens, donkeys, and Alpacas. Whatever your pet needs are, I can do it. I am currently doing volunteer work on Tuesdays, but am available every other day of the week. Early mornings and afternoons work best for me, but I am available later in the evening when needed I can do feedings, walks, drop ins, and full night stays. I can also administer oral medication. I have a dog of my own and she gets daily medication I give her myself.

My pup Draconi loves his time with Dayonna. She truly cares and really gives him love when she picks him up. His tail wiggles when she arrives, are outta control, and he is so excited to see her. I highly recommend Dayonna. She is communicative, keeps you up to date on the walk, and sends photos, too. Don't miss an opportunity for your furbaby to get the best attention.

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs. I’ve taken care of my childhood dog and my parents three dogs. I also have a pet cat that I had for two years. I am passionate about exercising the dogs needs such as frequent walks, enrichments, and making sure to sneak in their medicine! One of my parents dogs needs to take medicine everyday and often times I do help. The same energy goes towards cats, I believe enriching and making sure they take their medicine is important! Since I intend to further my higher education, my routine and schedule is open and flexible for any pet care services that is needed for my clients. I care for pets in my home by making sure they have all their needs; any bedding, medicine, water, food, and enrichment toys. To add, making sure the pets cannot get into places or items that can be dangerous to them. If it’s within the clients home, I will make sure with the client of the proper medication to the right per, a list on what/how much they should be fed and their schedule, and any walking schedule the client insists on. Of course, providing adequate enrichment that involves treats/rewards!

About: Through volunteering at an animal shelter and caring for the pets of friends and family, I’ve gained experience caring for animals with different personalities, energy levels, and needs. I genuinely love animals and enjoy spending time with them, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I believe consistency is one of the best ways to help pets feel at ease, so I do my best to maintain their regular routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions you provide. I also keep pet parents updated with photos and messages throughout each visit, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. In addition to caring for your pet, I’m happy to help with small household tasks, such as bringing in the mail, watering plants, or tidying up after your pet, to help make your return home as smooth as possible. I look forward to meeting you and your pet and providing the same level of care and attention I’d want for my own. I’m current in school virtually in the afternoons and work part-time closing shift. My general availability is from 9am - 4:30pm. If you need an earlier or later time for walking or care we can discuss as well! About: Hi! I'm Kaitlynn, born and raised in Alexandria, VA, and a lifelong animal lover! I've always had pets growing up, from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, and I’m passionate about furbabies. I enjoy exploring local parks and trails and would be happy to take your pup on walks or visits to some nature spots in the area. I’m currently working from home, so I have a flexible schedule. Whether your pet needs a quick visit or extended care, I’m here to help. If you have any questions about my background or availability, feel free to reach out. Looking forward to meeting your fur children! 🐾 I’m currently in between jobs and have a pretty open schedule. I am mostly at coffee shops working on some free lance stuff or at the gym. I have a large fenced in back yard that has no openings. I am also able to safely crate your dog if that is needed!

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Ruby. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
