“Happy kitties and dogs. They need Sandi to take care of them as they are high maintenance and demanding. They look forward to her arrival each sitting. Another 5 star sitting.”

“Karissa is amazing! She helped us out last minute, stayed over and kept a great eye on my two dogs. She was flexible and a great communicator. Would highly recommend.”
“Hayley was super-attentive and it was always very obvious that she loves taking care of the kitties and chickens. I would definitely recommend her and would ask her for her services again in the future.”

About: I've house sat for family and friends, I've also taken care of pets since I was 14 years old. I can be flexible. Right now I'm completely free, I don't have any other job, so time to have with your pets shouldn't be a issue unless I have something to do with family. I make sure the pets go out when needed, and I keep a close eye on them. I've also give them medicine if needed.

About: I own a small dog, his name is Kyo he is almost 3 I've had him his whole life. He loves walks and playing. I work well with smaller dogs when it comes to walking them. I am a student during the week (mornings) and have a bunch of free time to love and walk dogs. I am available anytime any day, day or night I have an open schedule. I can't wait to interact with more dogs, I love animals so much. I grew up with animals and my aunt has 6 dogs and playing with the puppies when they were born was amazing. I love all kinds of dogs young or old and small or big. I can't wait to meet your furry friends.
About: I truly care for them as if they were my own. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve learned to read their personalities, moods, and needs quickly, so they feel safe and comfortable with me from day one. I also bring a background in hospitality, which means I’m detail-oriented, reliable, and used to making sure every guest — two-legged or four-legged — feels genuinely taken care of. Whether it’s sticking to a specific routine, giving extra attention to a nervous pet, or just making sure they get plenty of love while their owners are away, I treat every animal with the same patience and affection I’d want for my own. I’m currently in between jobs and I couldn’t think of a best way of spending this time than doing what I love and share my time with new furry friends! I take care of the pets at their own home. It is important for me that they feel comfortable in their own environment. I fully adapt myself to the furry friend needs.
“Dario was very responsive from our initial contact. Judging from the photos Dario sent while we were gone (much appreciated!), our very independent cat warmed up to Dario in record time! Dario communicated with us regularly, and we knew Rocket and our home were in very good hands. I hope Dario is available when we travel in the future. I recommend him without hesitation!”

About: I only take one or two clients at a time which gives me the ability to take them hiking and on walks in public spaces. Your dogs are a part of our family and home. I provide air tags for their time here so you can track them. Photos and videos provided daily. I am recently retired and available to give your dog(s) a lot of love and attention. I walk and hike daily and can exercise your pet to your liking. I have a 6 ft fence for the back yard. I also have an indoor/outdoor dog run and crates depending on your needs. I have two senior “host” dogs of our own. I put AirTags on guest dogs for additional security. I also share the AirTags with clients so they can enjoy tracking their dogs.
About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life and have always loved caring for animals. I also worked at a veterinary clinic as a kennel technician, where I cared for dogs and cats by feeding them, cleaning their spaces, exercising them, and making sure they were comfortable and well cared for. I as well have house sit and dog sit many times for family or family friends. My experience has taught me how to recognize animals’ needs, handle pets of different personalities, and provide patient, reliable care. I am enrolled in college but only have classes during mornings, which gives me a flexible schedule. I’m available most weekdays and on weekends, and I’m committed to providing reliable, care for you and your pets needs. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions, keep your pet on their normal routine, and provide plenty of love, attention, and playtime.
About: Hi, I’m Ariel! I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life, caring for a wide variety of pets from a young age. From dogs and cats to small animals and even reptiles and birds, I have hands-on experience with all kinds of furry (and not-so-furry) friends. I understand that every pet has its own unique personality, needs, and boundaries. I’m committed to providing them with a safe, loving, and fun environment while you’re away. I’m reliable, attentive, and will treat your pets like they’re my own. Feel free to reach out—I’d love to chat about how I can help care for your beloved companions! I work mostly part-time with a flexible but varying schedule, so I require at least a two-week notice for pet-sitting jobs. With that notice, I can accommodate most hours needed. On most weekdays, I’m available for early morning visits before 8 AM and late-night visits after 10 PM. Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays are my most flexible days, with availability throughout the entire day. Feel free to reach out to discuss scheduling! I have many animals of my own, I feel it’s very important to keep your pets on a routine, it keeps them calm and relaxed throughout the day because they know what’s coming next.
About: I am a licensed professional counselor. I have one golden, Charlie. I’ve had many dogs over the years so my experience is varied. I take Charlie on daily runs and am fit and ready to give your dog some exercise!! I currently work in Montrose Monday-Friday during the day with weekends off. I am happy to talk more specific schedule questions individually if need be 🙂 I make sure they are comfy and cozy!! I have a child and a dog, so our home is always child/dog proofed! I take directions and care seriously, so I’ll only agree if I’m able to carry out the mission!
About: I have owned dogs of my own and sat for multiple friends and family. I also volunteer with the Minneapolis pound and have a lot of experience with all breeds and sizes. I absolutely adore dogs and promise to take exceptional care of your pup! I work 3 days a week leaving me with extra time to dog walk and watch your fur baby. I am able to travel for pick ups and drop offs. I love taking walks so your pet can get some energy out. I also pay close attention to directions on how you like your pet cared for.
“Shawny is AMAZING!!! She has a great calm personality that my cattle dogs really loved! The place looks great, she cleaned up after herself. Lots and lots of pictures, great communication. You can tell she genuinely loved spending time with your pets. I would recommend to anyone!”

“Caitlin took wonderful care of our dog in our home while we were away. We received updates and photos and came home to a happy pup and clean house! We would recommend her for any dog sitting needs.”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up with horses, dogs, cats and a menagerie of smaller critters such as reptiles, hamsters, mice, rats, guineapigs, chinchillas, fish & more. The majority of the past 35 years I've been raising, chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, rabbits, goats as well as dogs, cats & other small critters. I had the pleasure of many furry companions who have enriched my life, and I was able to see many of them live very long lives. I am a certified pet sitter, holistic animal behaviorist, certified in CPR/First Aide, and I have also taken several animal herbal, training & communication classes. I have been taking care of friends & family's animals for over 40 years and now I want to extend a helping hand to those on Rover who love their furry companions as much as I love mine. I teach at various venues such as Mesa County Libraries, CMU TECH, Home School Groups & The Bookcliffs Art Center. I can be very busy and then free for weeks just depends on the scheduling. Usually, my classes are 2 to 4 hours with additional drive time and the latest evening class ends at 8pm. So, I can easily do home visits twice a day and overnights are not a problem. I will be taking care of your furry friend in your home. Each home is differnt & each furry friend is different so, I have a questionnaire I ask all of my clients to fill out. The questionnaire askes for details such as what your pets' daily activities, food requirements, meds & administration methods if applicable, likes, dislikes & any instructions to make our time safe & happy. Please add any additional information if it is not . on the questionnaire.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Roe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Roe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Roe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
