“Miranda handled difficult moments this weekend with such integrity and grace! Her understanding of our fur babies needs were apparent. She made friends with our grumpy little guy! A million thank yous!”

About: Any and all dogs I will play with them non-stop until they are tired and take a nap. I don't care what kind of special treatment they need if that's what they need they will get it. i would one day like to have and run a dog daycare one day and this will be good practice. I may also buy them treats, i love to spoil dogs. I have had and taken care of lots of dogs for all my life. I'm saving up to get a new place so i can adopt some dogs and other animals. I'm not going to say I'm a professional but i will love your dog like its mine. Thank you for reading this and have a good rest of your day. I work from home doing editing mostly so my days and nights are flexible. I have taken care of dogs kinda all my life and cats for the last couple of years. If the pet as no special needs or requirements then it's your normal go on walks play lots of pets feeding on time making sure they drink water all. I'd definitely rather take them out have go to parks but that's not always an option. I'm going to ask what kinda things do you do with your pet that makes them happy favorite toy that kinda stuff
“Jasmine did a terrific job caring for my 2 Dobermans and my senior Havanese. I have been showing and boarding dogs professionally for over 20 years and I am so impressed with the care Jasmine provided for my dogs. I would highly recommend her for all ages and sizes of dogs. I will definitely be using her again.”
“Nicole was amazing with our young lab and kitty! She stayed at our house for a long stay. Took our dog for two walks a day, sent daily pics and updates. She allowed us to relax and not worry! I am so thankful for her, would highly recommend.”

“Ellen was absolutely amazing and and we highly recommend her. She updated us with photos and emails every day telling us all about how the dogs were doing. We are pretty active with the pups, and she took them on little adventures daily. We got photos of them at the beach, hiking, and snuggled in the chair. Our two dogs connected with her right away. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Ellen will be our go to for all our doggie needs.”

“Sandy watched my three large dogs for nearly two weeks while I was away, staying in my home the whole time. She kept me updated and sent photos throughout, which I really appreciated. One of my dogs, Clyde, is a Pointer who tends to shut down and refuse food when I'm gone-with Sandy he was eating well throughout. I returned home to three happy, healthy dogs and a house that was genuinely well cared for. With three big dogs, that's no small thing. Would absolutely book her again.”

“Mirle was great with my lab Gordie! I needed help last minute due to moving and she made it so easy taking amazing care of Gordie while I was gone. She kept me updated and sent photos of Gordie. Thank you so much! I would highly recommend using Mirle for your pets!”

“Lauren has great knowledge of training techniques and dog behavior. She does a great job of getting the dogs out for walks and a change of scenery. My home was immaculate as well. I look forward to using Lauren again soon.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I can remember. I have two rescue pups of my own! Dog sitting is one of my favorite things to do! I have been pet sitting in my home and others for years. If you have a shy pup- no worries! I have taken in rescues, fostered, taken care of people and dog aggressive pups and given them all of the patience, attention, and love they deserve. So whether you have an anxious baby, a senior pet, or a social butter fly- I’ve got you! I recently departed from my ten year healthcare career to finish my psychology degree so I am readily available! Currently, I am staying home with my own kids and pups and have time to help spoil yours and make everyone’s life a little easier! At my own home I have an acre of fenced in pasture for your pups to play! I have kennels if your pup is kennel trained and you would like to keep them on a schedule but if not that’s fine too. For pet sitting in my own home I can only accept people and dog friendly pets. But if you are looking for a place for your pups to play with other dogs- look no further! My pups are gentle and great play mates. Our pasture was originally a horse pasture so it has beautiful shade trees and lots of space for fun! If you are looking for pet care in your home, just let me know how to best accommodate your pet and keep things as routine as possible! I am a walker/runner so if your pup needs to get some exercise out, look no further! I also have access to a beautiful family owned canyon property next to my home if you would like me to provide a nice leashed trail experience or an off the leash sniffing extravaganza.

About: Hi, I am a full time teacher on summer break. I love animals in general and I am happy to take care of your dog while you are on vacation, between my vacations. Let me know if you're interested. I have a lot of flexibility because I am currently on summer break. So, I should be able to watch your dog full time depending on my own vacations. I am mostly looking at taking care of people's dogs at their residents at this time. But I am very down to take your dog on walks or even hikes if that is something your dog would like.
About: I’ve taken care of pets ever since I was a kid. I come from a family full of pet lovers and have lived with several animals in our house ever since I was little. I’ve raised and cared for both puppies and kittens to even taking care of senior pets and their need. I’ve pet-sat for friends, neighbors, and family ever since I was around 10 years old. I love animals and it is truly my passion to work with animals! I’m currently unemployed and on summer vacation from college so I have almost perfect availability and more than enough time to make your pets happy!☺️ I live in a pet friendly apartment, with a safe huge grass and forested area for pets to play and use the restroom. I am open to meeting any needs for a pet that their owners instruct. Anything from required feeding times, more frequent potty breaks and walks, and even giving medications to animals as well!
About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was a little girl, growing up with them at home and walking them since I was 10. I really enjoy hiking, walking, being outside, and exercising. I've had a regular walking client for over a year now, and to keep things interesting, I often take him on hikes around the Wenatchee area instead of just walking around the neighborhood. I've had my own dog since I was 6, and she'll be 15 this July. I also have experience with senior dogs, high energy dogs, puppies, and XL dogs (like Cane Corsos, Newfoundlands, and St. Bernards) I also have experience in training dogs to behave and not pull on their leashes. As a student at both Eastmont High School and Wenatchee Valley College, I've found ways to integrate pet care into my daily life, especially when I'm studying or working on art projects. The dog or cat often hangs out with me, providing a calming presence for me. I like to take short breaks for a quick play session or a walk to refresh my mind. On weekends, I have more time for longer adventures and activities. It's great having a furry friend by my side while I tackle schoolwork or get creative! When I'm at a client's home, I always follow their specific instructions and routines to maintain consistency for the pet. This includes feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and any special needs they might have. I make sure to respect their home and create a positive, stress-free environment for their pet, focusing on safety, comfort, and lots of love and attention.
“Natasha was beyond lovely- we were away for the holidays and were so at ease knowing she was there to care for our Algernon. Natasha was very communicative and keep us updated with pictures of all the fun she and our boy were having. She genuinely adores and loves animals and shows great care in what she does. Would absolutely book with her again- thank you so much Natasha!”

“Julia did an amazing job looking after my two dogs Rose and Lilo. She seems to really have a deep care for animals and I can tell they were well taken care of while I was away for a few days. Would highly recommend her to anyone needing their animals looked after as she will give the best care!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rock Island
Karli stayed at our place for four nights with our spicy teenage dog. It was our first time away from him. We were worried because he is pretty high maintenance, but Karli took good care of him and our house. He was happy and tired when we got home and the house was immaculate. We highly recommend Karli as a sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rock Island on Rover is $28 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 127 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rock Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rock Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rock Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rock Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
