About: Ever since I was young I did not only taking a liking to all animals, as I found they too took a liking to me. Sometimes I could see pieces of myself in their souls. From then on I've been infatuated with helping them. That's become quite the task as I'm a mother now of 2. Having your own "pets" is just having a bigger family in my eyes. I've always been the friend that takes in pet guests so they can go out of town. Or house sit if necessary beings all the different types. I figured why not make a job of it!! Pet care is extremely important! I use this time daily even for snuggle time to make sure no one even our own furries are left out. It fits in just like breakfast. It's extremely important and can become very meditative. I treat guest pets with as much love and freedom as our own. I'm in a very wooded area and our pup never ventures too far and guides the other dogs around and plays with them to get them back in. He's very clever. However I would never let a guest be unleashed while unattended. While your away I like to take all opportunities to improve! Unleash time is a HUGE start and is always impressive. These simple tasks once mastered can save you pups life if ever left unattended unleashed in a new scary place. I intend to help even if it's for one day we can work on just having fun and playing inside and talking walks in the outdoors together! I am one for taking photos and sending them to let you know how much fun they are having, for you to have yours!

Exceptional! First time I’ve left my animals with someone “not family “ and was pleasantly surprised. They loved her. She made everyone feel comfortable, cared for, spoiled and safe. Highly recommended from here!

About: Working in veterinary medicine, I can understand basic animal needs and care. I have been taking care of animals for over 10 years. I will treat your babies like they are my own I work two jobs, both in opposite directions, so to be able to housesit. And given a good amount of time to request days off to give your baby my full attention I prefer housesitting over boarding at my personal home, it’s easier for me, and I feel like the pets would prefer their own home over anyone elses

About: I’ve owned pets my whole life! I currently have one cat who is like my child. I grew up caring for gerbils, dogs, Guinea pigs, rabbits and fish as well. I love animals and truly enjoy their company - I’d love to have the chance to meet and care for yours! I’m an attentive and affectionate owner and caregiver to all kinds of pets, both big and small. I have experience administering medication as well, my childhood cat was diabetic so I have lots of experience with injectable medication. I’m very flexible schedule wise! I currently work part time and set my own hours, but I mostly work evenings. I spend as much time with my pets as possible. I prefer afternoon bookings, but I can do nights as well. I currently can’t host in my own house due to animal restrictions! I’m available for drop-ins and house sitting. I’m a very clean person and always respect other peoples spaces. I’m very competent and have no issue following whatever instructions you give me regarding how you need your pet cared for.

Sara was wonderful!! This is as the first time leaving our 3yr old very anxious yorkie. We were very nervous pet parents and had a very long list of directions for our baby and home. Sara didn’t mind at all and was very understanding of our needs. Sara stayed with her the whole time did everything we asked. We came home to a clean home and happy dog. We are definitely grateful that we have someone to watch our dog for future events. Thanks so much Sara

Abigail helped me on short notice in an emergency situation and was able to take over care when another sitter didn’t show. She did an incredible job giving updates, following care instructions, and loving on the cats. She left the home better than she found it and her deep care for animals is evident in both her words and her actions!

About: Are you looking for someone in Florida to care for your beloved fur baby? You’ve come to the right place! As a lifelong animal lover and professional animal caretaker, I’m here to give your pet the love and attention they deserve. Whether you need a dependable helping hand or a new friend for your pet, I’d be more than happy to help. Just reach out, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible! I’m currently working full-time but I’ll still have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! Feel free to reach out, and I’ll be happy to share my schedule for the week. I provide an open space for dogs to roam freely, including both the living room and garage. However, I do require that you bring a crate for your dog. This is important in case I need to step out for an extended period, if your dog doesn’t get along with others, or if they are not potty trained or tend to mark indoors.

About: I am my friends and family’s go to dog/cat-sitter. I’ve began taking care of pets regularly within the past 6 years. I’m happy to walk, feed and bathe pets, as well as any other task requested of me. :) I’m open and available everyday to petsit and dog walk. I work from my laptop Sat-Thurs from 12pm-8pm EST aside from pet duties ❤️ If you don’t mind my remote work, I’m happy to pet sit! When walking dogs, I make sure the harness and leash are fully secure. I double check doors all the time to make sure pets don’t escape. I can gently crate dogs. I also walk my own cats on a leash or in a stroller. I put them on a harness to ensure they don’t escape when carrying them or while they’re in the stroller.

I cannot say enough how amazing Gisselle is!! She watched our furbabies for 2 weeks while my husband and I were on our honeymoon overseas and they had the best time with her! She sent regular updates with pictures and videos and it was clear our babies were comfortable, happy, well taken care of, and living their best lives with her! This of course gave us such peace of mind while we were away because we could tell she treated them like her own Ohana! Not to mention, our house was cleaner when we came home than how we left it haha--she organized our dog's treats and made sure everything was in order! She has such a warm and loving personality and we will absolutely be having her back soon! Thank you, Gisselle!!!

About: I’ve been a devoted pet owner for over 15 years, and that’s where my true experience and passion for animals comes from. Caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life, not just a job. Over the years, I’ve also dog-sat for many different dogs for friends, family, and neighbors, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and routines. I understand that every pet is unique and deserves patience, attention, and love. I take pride in making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away, whether that means sticking closely to their routine, providing plenty of affection and playtime, or simply being a calm and reassuring presence. My goal is to support my community by giving pet parents peace of mind, knowing their animals are in great hands. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their wellbeing, happiness, and safety! I work from home full-time, which allows me to have an extremely open and flexible schedule. I’m able to give pets my full attention throughout the day, including frequent bathroom breaks, playtime, feedings, and check-ins as needed. Time is never an issue for me, and I’m happy to accommodate puppies, senior dogs, or pets who need extra care, supervision, or routine consistency. My home is a safe, calm, clean, and loving environment. All pets are welcome on furniture, beds, and any cozy spot while in my care.

We are so lucky we found Tiffany. We can now be assured our beloved Milo is receiving excellent care whenever she sits him. She does a great job both in taking care of him and communicating that to us. She is very professional and caring at the same time. No disappointment with her what so ever. This is the second time she helps us and there will be many more.

Sarah is great! My dog is very needy and requires a lot of attention to remain comfortable. Upon returning home after their first visit I walked into my dog happy, sleeping and very content. It means a lot when your dog sitter treats your dog the same way you do so that the time away is less stressful on your pet. I will be using Sarah for watching Mona Lisa over and over. Thank you!!!

We have two senior dogs (15 and 11) and we were very nervous and hesitant to board them during our summer vacation. We initially booked them for boarding at a local daycare but didn’t feel comfortable. We were about to cancel our trip a week before, but Jeanna was an answered prayer! I found her profile on Rover on a whim and after reading her great reviews and checking her profile I decided to see if she would be available. After inquiring, she quickly responded, scheduled a phone interview an hour later and even offered a second meet and greet just to calm our nerves and get acquainted with our dogs and family. She was very professional, calm, honest, responsible and genuine. Our dogs were very comfortable with her within minutes of meeting her. We booked her for house sitting for 10 days and are so glad and relieved to have found her! On the day we were to travel, our flight was delayed and she was very flexible coming to our home when we needed her to. During our vacation, she eased our anxiety and we felt at peace as she constantly updated us daily with pictures and reports on how they were doing, eating and sleeping. She also updated the dogs letting them know when we were coming home. Our dogs felt right at home, even though they missed us! Jeanna took amazing care of our senior dogs with medication, food, water and play time. She also took great care of our home while we were away and left the place just like we left it. She gave great care, affection and love for our dogs and Chloe our youngest is already missing her!! We highly recommend booking Jeanna for your pets and can’t wait to book her again for our next vacation! Thank you for everything!

FAQs for House Sitting - River Ranch

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 231 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across River Ranch. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred River Ranch walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in River Ranch maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in River Ranch choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in River Ranch. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 70% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
