“We had a great experience! Juan & his family were incredibly accommodating, attentive, and easy to work with throughout the entire stay. They sent us lots of pictures and updates, and our dog looked happy and comfortable the whole time. We’ll definitely book again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Tracy is an animal lover at heart and has taken great care of our pup several times now from the time Tawny was under a year old! She provides daily updates with pictures/video that let us know how things are going which is a great comfort while we're away. We will definitely continue to have Tracy care for Tawny on our future trips!”

“Angelina was an Angel and a life saver. I booked last minute and she responded immediately. Angelina was pleasant and very sweet. When meeting Onyx and Blue she asked all the right questions in order to provide the best care for my fur babies. Angelina sent pictures and kept me updated on all my babies activities. If you want your fur baby to be in a nurturing, safe, and fun home, Angelina is the caregiver for you.”

“Gigi did a great job watching my Maltipoo dog for 10 nights. Her family provided a true home for our pup, and I’ll always be grateful! She took great care of him, and took him on multiple walks a day. She has went above and beyond by brushing his hair and teeth, cleaning his eyes, and giving him a bath. She provided a lot of photos and videos and his list of activities that day which made us feel relieved that my fur baby is in good hand and having fun. He came home clean, happy and content. Highly recommend for anyone looking to board their pup! Thanks again for taking such good care of Ethan :)”

“Cecilia, Richard and their daughter were so kind and took wonderful care of Chloe! She was happy and well cared for, and I really appreciated the pictures and updates throughout her stay. They were also flexible and easy to communicate with, which made everything go smoothly. I’ll happily book with them again!”

“Juliana took fantastic care of Max and Dora. She made sure they got plenty of walks, and we were so happy to see they had such a great time. We felt so confident leaving them with her and will definitely be back!”

About: I have a 5 year old lab who is friendly and caring. I love to take care of dogs and provide service for dog parents who need help taking care of their loved ones. I have a pet and i take care of him daily so pet care is part off my daily routine and life and I love it. I will take care of the pet in our home and have a 3000 sqft backyard where the pets can play and have fun time
“Brian and his son Kyle are absolutely wonderful sitters! They’ve taken such great care of our French bulldog, Charlie. She is always so happy to see them and comes home relaxed and well-loved. It’s such a comfort knowing she’s with people who treat her like family. Highly recommend!”
“Adriana and family were awesome. Super glad that she came through to help us at the last minute. Bruno had plenty of room to play and run around with the farm style home. Blessed that we found another option to take care of Bruno. Thank you Adrian and Family for watching Bruno Tenoche.”

“Shirley was incredibly easy to work with and very flexible to book. You can really tell she cares about our furry babies and they gotten taken care of just as lovingly by her as they would by us. Loved getting pictures and updates multiple times a day, made the stress of boarding our boys much easier to manage. We will definitely be booking with Shirley again.”

“Ginger had a great time staying at Lyan’s place! She was comfortable and welcomed in their home. They even allowed her on their bed. And the best part of all is that Lyan’s dog Dexter is super sweet and friendly. The host took good care of Ginger and kept in mind her needs such as feeding schedule and wearing cone instructions. She sent lots of pictures too which we love. We will definitely contact them in the future for pet sitting!”

“I can't say enough about how wonderful Gabriel and his family are. They made Jack a part of their family. Gabriel asked me all kinds of great questions on how Jack behaves, eats and how much he was trained, etc. He also kept me up to date with Jack on a daily basis, including pictures. It made it much easier to be away from my fur baby without having to worry about how he was doing. I would highly recommend Gabriel and Delia and will be taking Jack there again when I have to go out of town. Lots of extra love is given here.”

“We had a wonderful experience. It was our first time leaving our puppy and she made me feel at ease with leaving him. She sent updates, photos, and videos throughout the stay. Duke threw up and shr let me know and even washed his bedding for us. We will definately bring Duke back.”

About: Hi, I’m Maria! I believe that pets aren't just animals—they are cherished members of the family. When your pet stays with me, they receive the exact same level of deep compassion, endless cuddles, and focused attention that I give to my own. I am experienced with dogs, birds, and rabbits. I share my home with a wonderfully chatty, smaller-sized Siberian Husky named Fuschia. She loves to "talk," but she is trained, incredibly friendly, gentle, and absolutely adores playing with new furry friends. Other than being a chatty Cathy, Fuschia is the anti-husky- preferring to sleep and chill than having high energy. Whether your dog wants a playmate or just a buddy to lounge near, my husky is an excellent, welcoming host. I work from home full-time with a flexible schedule, meaning your pet will rarely be alone and will receive frequent potty breaks, supervised playtime, and all the affection they can handle. ------------------------------ 🩺 Experience & Special Skills I'm a lifelong pet lover who has owned or taken care of pets since childhood. I've owned tiny dogs (chihuhuas and terrier mixes), a large wild dog that needed extensive training (a wolf-husky hybrid), birds, a rabbit, and have helped friends take care of their exotic animals (snakes and lizards). I’ve been dog sitting for approximately ten (10) years. I have enjoyed sitting small dogs to giant doodles (who believe they are small lap dogs) as well as elderly and special needs dogs. I’m a true animal lover and offer comprehensive care tailored to your pet's specific life stage and health requirements: * From Puppies to Seniors: I understand the patience and frequent training breaks required for tiny puppies, as well as the gentle pacing, orthopedic comfort, and slow walks needed for elderly dogs. * Medical & Sick Dog Care: If your dog requires special medical attention, you can rest easy. I am highly experienced in administering oral and topical medications, managing strict dosing schedules, feeding according to strict dietary needs, and providing a calm, stress-free environment for dogs. * Small Animal Expertise (Birds & Rabbits): I don’t just care for dogs! As a prior bird and rabbit owner, I am fully experienced in handling, feeding, cage or pen cleaning, and understanding the unique requirements of rabbits and birds. ------------------------------ 🏡 My Home & Safety Setup Your pet’s safety and peace of mind are my absolute top priorities. * Dog Play Areas: Dogs have plenty of room to stretch their legs, curl up on a couch, and run around and play inside the house and in my secure fenced in yard. When they play with my husky they will always be supervised. *Sleeping: When it’s time to sleep your dog will sleep in a crate inside the house to ensure they are safe and secure while they are resting. * Sanitation & Routines: I’ll adhere to your feeding schedules. I’ll take your dog for a walk and can bathe them if requested. ** Separate, Stress-Free Zone for small animal friends: To ensure a calm and secure environment, all guest birds and rabbits are kept in a completely separate room away from any dogs in the house. They will enjoy a quiet, predator-free space where they can feel safe and be nurtured. During the week, I work from home and have a flexible shift that ends in the early afternoons. On weekends, I'm home, and your fur baby will get plenty of walks and playtime. I live in a gated community in Morgan Hill and have a securely fenced yard for your dog to run and play. I keep the dogs in the house when I'm working, and there are plenty of couches for the dogs to curl up on and nap. At night, the dogs sleep in a crate inside the house. I'd prefer to use your crate to make your dog feel more at home, but I have a small and large crate available for dogs that don't have one. Small Animals (birds and rabbits) are kept in a separate room the entire stay. They will not have any interaction with any dog in the house.
“This was the second time my puppy Bruno stayed with Grace and Claudio! They were awesome sitters over the weekend. Plenty of updates and they stick to what Bruno likes- playing fetch and running around! I love that they give feedback about how Bruno behaves as it gives me the sense of security that he is being well watched/ taken care of.”

“Kira was great with my small senior dog, Roo! She was friendly and communicative and sent me daily photos and updates of Roo looking comfortable and snug in her home. I felt very at ease with Roo in her care. Will definitely book with Kira again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their River Oaks home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your River Oaks.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your River Oaks sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
