“Lori, thank you for caring for my babies this weekend. Thank you for all the photos of them. For making sure they were comfortable while I was away on travel. I will be booking with you again based on your availability. If you are looking for a wonderful sitter for your fur babies, I promise you will not go wrong with Lori watching over them.”

“Our dog is nervous around new people and this was our first time using a pet sitter. Samantha provided daily updates with photos of Sage. It was great seeing that he felt comfortable with Samantha. He was happy and healthy when we returned. I will definitely use her again for future trips.”

“Kelly did a great job caring for Mila. Mila was very comfortable with Kelly. Kelly left our place clean and like we left it. Thank you Kelly. I would certainly use Kelly again in the future.”

“Cindy was so great with Kelsey. He’s very anxious and skittish with people he’s not familiar with, but he took to Cindy right away and she was very patient with him. Before we knew it, he was going to her first snuggles, which is very rare with someone he doesn’t know. And she treated my home as her own, very respectful. I would not hesitate to use Cindy again. And hopefully when she has her grooming business going, I can start sending people to her.”

“Was absolutely great to have at the house! Cleaned up after themselves and my cats were pretty happy! She sent lots of pictures and my cats looked like they had a super fun time 💗”

“Mya was a wonderful sitter while we were out of town. She communicated with periodic check ins complete with pictures of our fur babies. She followed all of our instructions to the letter and even left us a thoughtful keepsake. Will definitely book her again.”

“Rachel took great care of our dog and of our house while we were away. She made us aware of any pet or house concerns that came up right away. Our home was the same as we left it and our dog was well cared for and loved while we were gone. We would recommend her to others looking and we will use her again in the future!”

“I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.”

“Valeria was amazing! Truly had the best experience with her. She was so communicative and had great attention to detail. Cannot recommend her enough! We will definitely book with her again ❤️”

“Sudensa was great! We have two big German Shepherds and she played with them and walked them every day. She sent me updates and photos, and if she was unsure about anything she reached out to ask questions. I felt super comfortable having her stay with our boys!”

“Sara was wonderful to have pet sit in our home. She was really nice and also flexible when we were setting up the booking. I loved the cute pictures she sent of our dog and cat, and her communication was excellent. I really appreciate the excellent care she took of both our babies and our home.”
“After having some issues with sitters for a few long trips, we used Rover for the first time for a beach vacation. We have 4 dogs, and they can be a bit of work, so we had to make sure that we had the right person to care for them. George has a very relaxed demeanor and put the dogs at ease. He made sure to get up early with them and that they were fed on time and let out according to their schedule. With three of them being rescues, they are a bit skittish, and George was very patient and was methodical about how he handled them. I get very anxious about leaving the dogs, and I will be booking George again for an upcoming trip because I know that I don’t need to worry about them when he is at the house.”

“Janelle was an absolute blessing to our family! She took exceptional care of our three rambunctious mini dachshunds, giving us complete peace of mind so we could fully relax and enjoy our 30th anniversary trip to Mexico. Throughout our time away, she kept us updated with thoughtful communication and plenty of photos of our fur babies, which meant so much to us. When we returned home, we were amazed to find the house not only spotless but actually cleaner than when we left. She had even organized my disaster of a pantry—something I had been putting off for far too long! Her attention to detail and willingness to help in every way are truly remarkable. And as if that weren't enough, she welcomed us home with a delicious pasta dish and a loaf of homemade bread. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity is rare and speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. Janelle went far beyond anything we could have expected. She served our family with such kindness, care, and grace, and was truly the hands and feet of Jesus during a time when we needed it most. We are incredibly grateful for her and cannot recommend her highly enough. ❤️”

“Carolina stayed with Maggie for a week while we were in Portugal. Besides being very sweet and accommodating, she went above and beyond just watching Maggie. She got the mail, watered the flowers outside, checked the skimmer baskets in the pool for us, dealt with contractors who were working on the pool and yard, dealt with Comcast because the contractors cut the internet line and washed and changed the sheets. The house was left exactly as it was when we left. Best of all Maggie, who doesn't like strangers to touch her, warmed up to Carolina like we have never seen before. We received pictures and videos of Maggie playing with her toys with Carolina and letting her give her belly rubs like she does only with family! Carolina was our second sitter because we were gone for 2 weeks and couldn't find anyone available for the whole time, so she met with the first sitter who went over everything with her before she left. We would definitely book Carolina again and now we feel more comfortable leaving Maggie, when before it was very much a challenge and other options hadn't gone well (drop ins, staying at other people's houses). Most of all Maggie would love to see her again! She's a dog whisperer!”

About: I am a respectful and caring sitter waiting to assist! 🩷 I currently have two dogs, a rescue named Kali and a mini golden doddle, Bentley! Over the years, I’ve taken care of my own dogs and friends/families whenever needed! I promise to be gentle, caring and responsible when watching or walking your baby 🦮 I work full time, remotely from 9-5pm. My day to day schedule is not busy and I am open to be more flexible if needed. I have an unfenced large backyard where I usually leash my dogs to walk or play. Inside my home, there is space in my basement, where my office is, to allow any dog of any size to play.
“Stephanie was great with my two dogs! She communicated clearly and I never once had to worry that they were in goods while I was away. I have a high strung working line GSD who insist on lots of play and Stephanie picked up on all her games to keep her entertained inside while it’s too hot outside. Already have another stay planned!”

“She did such a great job staying with our two old lady dachshunds! Gave us the peace of mind we needed while we are away, with lots of photo updates, responsive, on time, and took great care of them and our home. Will definitely be having her come stay with the girls again!”

Ashley did a fantastic job taking care of my dog. She kept me informed daily of their activities and Sam’s reaction to having someone else taking care of her. This was my first time to use a sitter and I couldn’t be more pleased. She’s a wonderful communicator and treated my pet as if she were her own. I’ll definitely use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ridgeview Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ridgeview Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ridgeview Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
