Christine was fabulous with her week stay with our dog Harper. She communicated often and I was highly confident in how she would take care of our fur baby. She went above and beyond to wash the linens and our house was spotless. We be booking with Christine again!

About: I've been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family for years, and I genuinely love it. I've cared for dogs of all ages — including a senior dog I looked after for a full month while his owners traveled internationally — and cats during weekend trips, checking in regularly for feeding, playtime, and company. As a former project manager, I'm naturally detail-oriented and reliable, so I'll follow your care instructions to the letter. I also work from home, so pets get consistent attention throughout the day, and I'm completely comfortable staying overnight to keep their routine as normal as possible. Whether it's a senior dog needing extra care, a younger pup with energy to burn, or a cat who just wants company, I treat every pet like my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and my schedule is flexible enough that I can work from anywhere. That means I'm not squeezing in a quick visit before rushing off to an office — I'm around throughout the day for feeding times, walks, potty breaks, and playtime. If I'm staying overnight in your home, I can simply bring my work with me and keep my normal routine going while giving your pet consistent attention morning, noon, and night. Pets aren't an interruption to my day — they're part of it. When I'm in a client's home, I follow their routine as closely as possible — feeding schedules, walk times, medications, and any specific instructions they leave me. For overnight stays or boarding, I settle in just like I would in my own home, so pets have consistent company, playtime, and comfort throughout the day and night rather than being left alone for long stretches. For drop-in visits, I make sure each visit covers everything needed — food, water, a bathroom break, and some one-on-one attention — and I check the home to make sure everything is secure before I leave. Regardless of the service, I treat your home and your pet with the same care and respect I'd want for my own, and I'm happy to send photo or text updates so you can relax and enjoy your time away.

Katherine did a great job with Happy! She played a lot with him in the yard and helped get him through some thunderstorms, which cause a lot of anxiety for our pup. She stayed in our home and we were grateful she was able to help out. Would highly recommend her again!

About: I’ve taken care of a lot of different animals from horses to squirrels all my life. I’m dependable, patient, and treat every pet like family, ensuring they feel happy and loved. Feel free to ask me anything in regards to experience! I am currently a full time student at Nova Southeastern University majoring in marine biology. I have an easier schedule this semester so Im free most days at different times. I feed my dog usually once a day because he’s not a very fast eater and picks at it throughout the day but I have experience in hourly feeding for other dogs as well. I also have a fenced backyard at my house in SC but I have experience in walking too.

About: Hey everyone! I have been around animals my whole life, they’ve always been a huge part of who I am. I’ve cared for my own dogs and helped friends and family with theirs, so I’m super comfortable with all kinds of pups, especially big dogs haha. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like they’re my own—with lots of love, attention, and care. Whether you need walks, drop-ins, or just someone reliable to help out, I’ve got you! I currently work part-time, so my availability may vary depending on my schedule. I’m still happy to help with dog walking and pet care when I’m available and will always communicate ahead of time to find times that work best. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I pay close attention during walks, make sure pets stay secure on their leash, and follow any specific instructions you provide. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I give my own dog so you can feel confident they’re in good hands.

Kylee was so incredible!!! She watched 4 dogs for a whole week and took such good care of them. She was super responsive and gave me updates! It also was super rainy the last few days and with 4 dogs and our yard is super muddy/ floors not good with mud and dog fur, we fully expected to walk into a filthy house but to our surprise the house was spotless. She went above and beyond to make the house look amazing even in the rain! We really appreciate it and will be absolutely be using her again in the future for any needs we have!

About: Hello, I'm excited to welcome your fur buddy into our home. We will love them as our very own and keep them happy while your away. I've owned dogs since I was in elementary and have provided care for my family and friends. I work a flexible, hybrid schedule which makes it convenient to be available care for our fur guest. I'm off every weekend and will have a laid back daily routine for them. Walks, playtime, outside play and of course snuggles. I will accommodate each and every pups needs. I have a very safe home. Our back yard is fenced in with tons of running and exploring space. I will NOT keep aggressive dogs. If you know your dog is aggressive and doesn't get along with other dogs, please do not choose me. I have to ensure the safety for all of my babies. (Pups) As an extra precaution I ask for an updated picture of your dog's shots record. This provides transparency for all parties. I want to make sure that all if my babies are safe and healthy at all times.

Anna has been such a blessing while my husband and I were on vacation! She gave countless updates including pictures, videos, and updates/summaries of her time with our babies! One of my dogs is a rescue with some serious trust issues and anxiety, over the course of the week we were gone we got to see through pictures as she continued to open up to Anna and build trust in her. My nervous girl has even begun to be excited to see her and lay in bed with her. I will 100% be using Anna’s services in the future if I ever need someone that we can trust to watch our babies again. Anna has been so accommodating and helpful. I have felt so comfortable with her staying in our home, and her watching and loving on my two dogs and one cat. I would recommend her to everyone!! Cannot say enough good things!!

About: I have over 30 years of hands-on experience owning and caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. Over the years, I have cared for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, gaining a strong understanding of daily routines, exercise needs, and gentle senior care. My experience includes walking & jogging, feeding, administering medications, and providing calm, attentive care. I am comfortable managing multiple pets in the same household and always prioritize safety, consistency, and affection. Dogs have been a part of my family for decades, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. Now that I am retired, pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I'm full-time which allows me to plan days around the pets in my care rather than fitting them in around work or other obligations. Walks, feedings, playtime, and companionship are spread throughout the day, so pets get consistent attention and aren't left alone for long periods. My schedule is flexible, so I can easily accommodate medications, special feeding times, and multiple pets. I enjoy the structure that caring for pets brings to my day, and I make it a priority to follow each pet's normal routine, so they feel comfortable, safe and relaxed. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, secure and loving environment where pets are closely supervised and never left unattended for long periods. Since I'm retired and home most of the time, I'm able to give pets consistent attention and quickly notice any changes in behavior or health. I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, walking routines, and any special needs. I use leashes and safety precautions on walks and make sure doors, gates and living areas are secure at all times. I treat every pet and home with respect, keeping the space clean, organized, and stress-free. My goal is to create a safe, familiar environment where pets feel relaxed and owners feel confident, they have left their pets in trustworthy hands.

About: Hi there! My name is Tiffani and I am a pet parent of 4! I absolutely love animals and hope to care for your fur babies. I have a background in psychology, biology and holistic health. All of my fur babies are rescues, so I have worked with pets from all different backgrounds. I am very thorough in my report cards and always willing to go the extra mile. My family always had pets growing up and friends and family, always had me watch their pets on vacation. Pet care fits in to my daily routine pretty easily. I am very flexible in my time most days and am willing to work around the pet parents schedule if they need. When it comes to caring for your fur babies, I will take care of them as if they were my own. Regardless of the service there will be a thorough report of their walk, potty recording, pictures, and if requested feeding schedules, mail pickup, water refilling, and waste disposal and let’s not forget TREATS for the babies.

Amy is fantastic! She watched our cat, Black Fury, for a week and did an incredible job. She’s a “cat whisperer” who managed to win over our shy boy, and her daily photos/updates, kept us smiling. She also went above and beyond by keeping the house tidy, taking out the trash and bringing in our deliveries. Coming home to a clean house and a happy cat was the perfect end to our trip. Highly recommend!

About: I have a Dog of my own name little Sammy. I’m used to taken care of Labrador and retrievers. I also feel more comfortable taken care of bigger dogs than smaller dog due to the fact that’s usually what I’ve taken care of. I try to go for running or the dog park at least once daily and take them out for walks at least three times a day. We usually eat in the morning, lunch and dinner and sometimes I provide treats. Sammy loves playing with dogs and it’s supper friendly for when I have dogs over. I’ve had dogs my whole entire life since I could remember. Always remember dog loves you more than they love themselves so treat them kindly and love them unconditionally. I currently work from home and my job is flexible. I also have a dog that needs daily walks, take him to the park and daily food. So, I’m used to doing pet care on a daily basis. I live in an apartment with minimum furniture so dogs can be safe with no worries. I also have a balcony with metal railing for railing.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for many years and have experience with both large and small breeds. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient, and attentive to your pet’s needs. I am comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering basic medications, and providing lots of love and companionship. I have experience caring for energetic dogs, senior dogs, and pets that require extra attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away, and I’ll treat them like part of my own family. I’m available to take care of your pups on weekends. Heather and Nick were amazing to deal with. They were very fluid with my schedule to set up a meet and greet and we instantly knew they would be the ones to watch our beloved pups. During their stay, Nick sent pictures and videos of Whiskey and Willow ensuring us that our pups were in good hands and enjoying their time with him. It helped our separation anxiety seeing them lol. Nick was very respectful of our house and even offered to wash the bedding prior to our return. If you’re in need of a house/pet sitter, look no further and reach out to Heather and Nick. I know we will!

FAQs for House Sitting - Ridgeland

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ridgeland on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 544 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ridgeland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ridgeland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ridgeland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ridgeland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ridgeland. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
