“Hanna did an excellent job looking after my cat. I was at ease knowing she was looking out for her. She checked on her everyday, and communicated status and pictures. Hanna is very easy to talk to and is a great sitter.”

“Hannah did great, or as well as she could with our two crazy puppies LOL. Normally I wouldn't of left them as they are highly destructive left alone, but it was my sister's wedding and we didn't have a choice. Hannah kept me up to date on all her walks and everything they managed to get a hold of. The house was messy but nothing too expensive was lost, and I think it's because she walked them so much and wore them out. In addition, she rinsed out the food dishes and placed them in the sink, so they weren't all stinky. I didn't ask her to do that! So, thank you Hannah! We appreciate all your help. :)”

“Krista was great! One of our cats requires oral medication and she was able to get him his medication every day and let us know how it went. She followed the instructions we left and gave our social boy plenty of pets. She even brought our trash cans in from the curb! Would recommend her and will be rebooking her in the future.”

About: I have always had a soft spot for animals. I’ve taken care of animals since I was little. I’ve taken care of all different types of animals like cats, dogs, horses, chickens, bunnies, reptiles, etc. Your pets deserve the best, and l'm here to provide it! With almost unlimited availability, I can give your furry friends the attention and care they need, whenever they need it. I have a brick wall and one dog and two cats. I ensure their safety by providing a secure and comfortable environment with plenty of food and water.
About: I’ve worked with pets of all kinds for more than 20 years. I’ve worked with cats, dogs, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, toads, hermit crabs, and snails. I do charge slightly more for snails because while slow, they are slippery little suckers. I am very organized. I focus on having a routine for the animals because they need it and appreciate it. I know most animals appreciate predictability and attention. I only go to a client’s home. I would rather see the pet on their turf and follow their rules as opposed to taking them out of their safety zone.
“Natalie is frankly an amazing sitter who was great with my two cats and was able and willing to work with me for the whole month I was gone. I came home to two happy and comfortable cats. Will absolutely be on my short list for sitters next time I have to leave my kitties behind for a while.”

About: I've been taking care of animals since I was 9 years old and have always felt a special connection with them, regardless if whether they are furry, fluffy, scaley, or have feathers! I worked at a professional dog boarding resort for over a year and have been a constant volunteer at animal shelters where I have learned to care for animals in many different conditions. I can handle temperamental or anxious animals and have brief experience in training. Let me take care of your best friends and family members, I promise by the end of their vacation ,theyll have a best friend for life! A proud dog dad of my own as well! I work full time but have an availability in the morning afternoon and nights for drop ins! And can host your fluffy friends at home on Sundays and Tuesdays! Feel free to reach out to see my availability I will work with you on your time! I have experience in dealing with animals that can be anxious or temperamental or agressive and can assure their safety. I can also easily adjust to any special instructions or medication requests!
About: I have been pet sitting for neighbors, friend, and family for 15 years and have always loved it! At one point having 5 animals of my own (including a disabled pup who needed to use diapers), I know how important it is to find quality care to truly enjoy a vacation or trip back home. I take pride in providing peace of mind by giving your pets all of the love and attention you would! I do not have a full time position so I am available for your pets at whatever time you feel works best for you and their schedule! I take direction from you, the pet’s owner. I want to add as little disruption to their daily routine as possible to keep them comfortable and happy.
About: Hello! I believe that animals are an important part of our lives. I’ve volunteered for animal shelters in the past, and keeping pets happy is very important to me. Cats, dogs, rodents, reptiles, etc. are many of the pets I’ve cared for over the years. With my dog being my best friend, I understand how much pets can mean to someone. I will make sure your pet gets all the care they deserve. I am currently job searching and in a semester break from college, so I have plenty of free time on my hands. Of course I will edit my information if that changes, but my schedule is very open and flexible at the moment. I have a fenced backyard with lots of room for zoomies. If you’re looking for care for a cat, there is a large litter box in my hallway as well. My dog is rather nervous, but not aggressive. I will make sure to have accommodations for your pet if needed!
“As always she took such great care of my baby girl. If you need a house/dog sitter Arianna is the girl for the job. I feel stress free! leaving my girl and home in her capable hands when going out of town. She always adds a picture of my babie for me to see while I'm gone, another special touch you get when choosing her for the job.”

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
