“We are so grateful for John, Rachel and the kids for taking such great our Zeke! There is nothing like the peace of mind knowing our pup is well taken care of and in a less disruptive home environment when we have to leave him!! They communicate well and we love getting photos with updates! Very highly recommended!!”

“Sharon helped us when we needed a sitter last minute for our Escobar. She kept us updated with pictures and videos! Escobar was well loved and cared for while we were away!!”

“They were great with our unpotty trained puppy. They helped quite a bit and we are trying to rebook them again for another weekend trip a few weeks out. We hope to have our puppy on a better potty schedule by then and have no doubt that Daine and Ashley will keep up the routine. They are great.”
“Kathleen did a great job taking care of our pup, Maddie, she’s a geriatric dog who is almost 16 and she seemed very happy to be there and had a great time we were updated with pictures and texts throughout our stay away. I picked her up and she was happy and healthy. We really appreciate Kathleen for taking such good care of her. We will definitely be using her again.”

About: I have loved dogs since I was a child. As a pre-teen, I used to go to my neighbors' homes to take their dogs for walks. Then, in 1993, my parents finally gave me my first dog—a black English Cocker Spaniel. I haven't been without dogs since. The first one was stolen when he was a year old. The second, another black Cocker, lived for 14 years. During that time, I also had a Yorkshire Terrier who lived to be 17. Currently, I have a 12-year-old female Papillon who came with me from Brazil a little over two years ago. I am Brazilian and qualified as a veterinarian in 2003. I spent six years working in a clinic treating dogs before switching to a different area of veterinary practice for personal reasons. Since moving to the US, I have been a full-time mom, as my youngest daughter is not yet school-age. I believe a meet-and-greet is beneficial for both parties; it’s a time for pets and their owners to get to know me better, and for me to get to know the pet (I like to fill out a form during this time to record details about them). I understand that just like us, dogs need regular walks to stay happy, healthy and mentally stimulated. If life gets busy and you're unable to take your pup out as often as you'd like, I'd be happy to help. I also offer loving in-home care for pets who prefer to stay cozy and comfortable in their own home while you're away. Services offered: dog walker, boarding, drop-in visits and doggy day care. I offer other pet services upon request. I am currently a full-time mother and homemaker, so I do not have a job that keeps me away from home for long stretches at a time. I have a friendly 12-year-old female dog, but she doesn't know how to play with other dogs; she’s a companion for quiet moments rather than playtime. I have three children—aged 4, 6, and 9—who adore dogs and love playing with them. I live in a house without a fenced yard. The raised deck has a gate and is a spot where my dog likes to hang out and watch the activity. I’ve installed a 34-inch removable fence in a small area where a dog can be left without constant supervision (provided they aren't a climber or a jumper).
“Leslie took such good care of our pup. He had never been away from home before so this was so out of his comfort zone but she took such good care of him. Would love for her to be one go-to dog sitter.”

“Gail was very accommodating for my two dogs. She sent daily updates and pictures to put me at ease. My older dog Marble has anxiety and I knew she would take a few days to settle down. Gail assured me that she was doing ok. Ginger is a puppy and very high maintenance. I am glad she made friends to play with.”
“Shawn was the absolute best with our fur baby! Sending us updates and pictures daily. Our dog made herself at home at his house from our first meeting. We are very picky about who we leave our dog with, however we will leave her with Shawn again in addition to refer others to him! Thanks Shawn for loving our baby so we could enjoy our vacation!”

“We are so happy with our first experience with Rover.com. Jill was so accommodating and was able to work with our schedule when we went on vacation for 10 days. She provided daily updates and pictures on how Fenway was doing. I was much less stressed about our long vacation knowing Fenway was able to have another dog to be with and someone who would take care of her. We are so happy with our experience with Jill and will definitely be recommending her to friends for their pups!”

“I was worried about leaving our older dog as we’ve never really done that before. Ngozi took wonderful care of her. I would receive pictures and video updates that really put my mind at ease.”

“Cheyanne was amazing! I had to find a last minute sitter for my senior dog because she was under the weather and couldn’t go to her typical boarder. In addition to being sick, my dog needs extra help doing some day to day things due to her age. Cheyanne was great and helped my dog feel safe in an unfamiliar environment.”
About: Hi there! I have had experience with a wide variety of dogs and cats my entire life. I am a nurse looking to help out with dog walks, drop ins or occasional overnights as needed! Shoot me a message and we can work something out, I’m here to help! I currently work 3 days a week and am available the other 4 days per week at anytime! During my work days I am also available after shifts for walks. I have a fenced yard that is VERY large and a very play friendly Husky. I am a nurse and can be trusted to go into your home to help with any pet care needs!
“Bobbi is a l life saver! We had a last minute need and she thankfully was available. Our little guy isn't one that loves everyone but he and Bobbi are buddies. She spoils him while we are away and we don't worry at all! She sends us videos and pictures and tells us about his day. Absolutely love her ❤️”

About: I’ve loved animals my entire life. I’ve always been drawn to animals in some way. I have a 3 year old dog and a 2 year old cat. I volunteered at Kcpetproject as a dog walker and helper, which they required me to take a dog handling class. I also had an internship at a vet clinic where I shadowed and treated animals. Allow me to make this transition as easy as possible and care for your pets needs! I currently work mornings throughout the week. However, I have flexibility and can leave work to let your dog out and my husband will sometimes be home while I’m working. Most of the time I am home all day on weekends. I will treat your home and pet as my own! When walking your dog I will pick up after him/her and give them lots of snuggles after! I will be sure to lock up and notify you when check in or dog walking is complete! I can also provide a kennel when needed.
About: I am a lifelong animal lover and rescuer of dogs. Life is not complete without a dog to snuggle up with at the end of the day. I have a large fenced yard and 3 of my own rescue fur babies that get along with other dogs fabulously. I can do drop in visits at your home also. I love walking and staying active so walking your dogs will be a treat for me.

As of November 2026, there are 286 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Richmond. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Richmond can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Richmond home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Richmond.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Richmond sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
