“Hillary was friendly and professional when we met in person. She arrived on time and interacted highly with all of our pets-not just the one we hired her to walk. She used the app to track the walk and indicate potty activity! We were so impress with her and the app. I also felt totally comfortable trusting her in our home.”

“Deanna is amazing! She came and helped the dogs get out of the house this past weekend when my husband and I could not— and the dogs had been kept inside for multiple days in a row. After utilizing her services I can see how having her help to get the dogs out in addition to what we can do would be beneficial for them on a regular basis! I will be booking multiple more times. Thank you so very much! She is on time and is very informative.”

“Jordan took the best care of Bailey while we were on vacation!! The communication was great and all of the pictures and updates were appreciated. We will definitely use Jordan again!!”

“Andy has been a wonderful companion to Louie. I have a four-year-old bull terrier, which is a very fussy breed with a lot of quirks. She showed up early for a meet and greet and has embraced my dog's silliness with a great attitude and tons of compassion. Louie comes home from his walks tired and happy.”

About: Thank you for considering me to take care of your animals! I just moved up to northern Wisconsin from Austin, Texas a handful of months ago and am looking to develop new customer relationships. I have 20 + years of experience with dogs and also volunteered on and off at Austin Animal Center in the dog enrichment program. I was heavily active on Rover prior to Covid. Following that, I had a good core group of animals through repeat customers and did not offer Rover services as often. I love dogs, cats, well...most animals in general! I feel more of a connection with them than I do with most humans. I currently live with 2 small dogs and an indoor/outdoor cat. When I watch your dogs, I do so as I'd want someone else to watch mine and will definitely give them all the love and attention they deserve and have their best interests at heart. I look forward to meeting you and my future fur friends. My current schedule is very flexible, so I should be able to work with you to customize care based on you and your animals needs. I am comfortable with whatever plans and routines you have in place for your animals and would like for me to follow while I am watching them.
“Mark was a fantastic dogwalker! He was able to help out at short notice when I didn't have anyone to walk my dog. And he also helped speak with my parents about Zosia's training needs and offer to support and train, particularly with her leash-pulling. Zosia really liked him and he's really great with animals. Would definitely book again!”

About: Hi my name is Katie! I have taken care of many dogs for the past 10 years! I enjoy spending as much time outside as I can with pups that I dog sit! I am very flexible!! I am a full time teacher during the school year. I prefer to either walk your furry friends from your home or at “your” home sit them. I cater custom care to each client for the best care possible of their furry friends. I am also educated in giving medications via by mouth & syringe.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs ever since I was 5 years old. Family and friends have relied on me to watch their dogs and let them out when there weren’t home. I have had all types of dogs ranging from aggressive rescues to seniors. I’m currently working part time so I have weekends and at least 3 weekdays off but sometimes get off early. I can stop by anytime when I’m not working. I will be coming to your house to feed, play, and let your dog out and if need be sleep over. If need be I will put them on a leash and walk them, but if you have a fenced yard that’s great.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Rhinelander. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
